ryan knorr has been testing his tall fescue, and reel mowing it. so he has been able to cut it short, maybe not down to .5 inches, but about 1 inch, and it has done fine.
I’ve heard other varieties of TTTF can tolerate around 1.25” HOC. But for most beginners, should probably look for FF, KBG or PRG to start out…maybe reno to a reel low HOC tolerant cultivar. Thanks for commenting!
