    Love the added safety tips and smoother flowing video with the re-upload. I wanted to say thank you for replying to my question on the previous video about the quality of the machine. Seriously considering this machine and I feel fortunate to have someone like yourself provide such high quality videos going into the nitty gritty details.

    I've heard some people use a rotary mower with an old blade set close to the ground to get the cores. Late fall through early spring I'm sure.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  4 роки тому

      Not for me, I tried that once and pretty much scalped the whole lawn. Maybe it works in some situations but I wouldn't recommend it.

      Hi there thank you, so my Swardman story has ended for now. I have moved onto my Allett reel mowing system and love it so far. The Swardman is a nice machine but the company has some challenges, they didn't establish local dealers and the founder and CEO was fired, according to his own account last year. If you have one and love it, then enjoy it but if I was buying a new one I would buy the English made Allett. There company has been around for 50 years and their machines are much less expensive and I like the build quality better.

      @@SilverCymbal I almost ordered Swardman's reel mower but now I do not know if it would be proper decision. Maybe I will get ALLETT KENSINGTON 20 B.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  3 роки тому +1

      Today I agree, Swardman is no longer the company they were when I made this, CEO/founder is long gone. Allett is the way to go now, they have dealers across the US

      @@SilverCymbal Yes the Allett is a great machine, Not many people have heard of it. I think you have covered it in a video once. A Great British machine. we don't have to water the lawn as much over here, the rain does it all for you, Haha

    What is the highest setting for this mower? Can I cut San Augustine grass with this mower, I usually mow tall.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  4 роки тому

      You can cut at just over 2" which is very nice for flexibility

    How would you compare the gas vs the electra, and which you chose?

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  4 роки тому

      They are actually both very nice machines and I like them both. I was SURE the gas would have more power but they really are both the same power. The battery is nice for no noise but if you are worried about getting enough horsepower with the battery don't be. Watch for a new video too soon showing it doing some more jobs.

    For what these mowers cost, I would only purchase one if it had a Honda motor. B&S motors are just not reliable in the long term.

    • @SilverCymbal

      I have a cheap Walmart bought lawnmower with a b&s engine and have had it 13 years with little maintenance. Think it's got one oil change. Runs good. 3 squirts and one pull.

  • @Crazyuncle1
    @Crazyuncle1 4 роки тому

    Nice machine. But all the complicated maintenance and adjustments? This isn’t a helicopter folks is a lawn mower.. I’ll stick to my Honda rotary mower. Probably better suited for Texas lawns anyway.

    $2577+ $329 for the Scarifier attachment + $439 for another blade. I'll pass. I can buy 5 Honda HRX217VLA 21" Walk Behind Lawn Mowers w/ Electric Start for that money. Folks, it's either just grass or an obsession.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  4 роки тому +2

      That's true and Hondas are great. But it's not the same. The Honda doesn't cut low very well and it doesn't do anything except mow.

      Don't group me as a product reviewer with lawn channels peddling their own products promising super results. This is why I have stayed with products that I use and work and resisted creating my own. When all your channel does it lawn care you have to milk your audience, I don't.
