Great video! It looks like you have a UV filter on your lens, probably not in the cleanest state either, that added a bunch of glare and artifacts to your photos. Since you already have a lens hood to protect your lens, I'd remove the UV filter so the Zeiss pop is not eliminated.
that Zeiss 35mm was my very first lens and I still use it heavily. it may not be the sharpest and have quite a bit of CA at 2.8mm but its such a wonderful lens and so versatile. Thanks for recommending that hood!
@@muslihatkedua7422 it could be that my copy isn’t as sharp as yours. I bought my lens second hand as I did with all of my lenses. The 40mm prime is supposed to be pretty sharp and more resolve quite a bit of detail. For me it is still outside of my budget even if I sell my 35mm for it. I personally don’t care too much about pin sharpness these days. As long as the lens is sharp enough I’m usually fine with it. I do wish Sony had a new compact 28mm prime. There isn’t really one available and the last one they made it quite old and apparently pretty slow for AF. The 35mm zeiss and that 40mm Sony G are both lighting fast for AF. I’m not a fan of manual focusing with lenses that are focus by wire.
Any A7C plus that 35/2.8 is one of the best AF based street setups around, imo (along with xpro and zf). Took six digits worth of photos around NYC with that pair. Never let me down. Moved on since, but if i was gonna go AF I'd be back on that pair.
I like that setup! Why did you decide to go with the A7CII instead of the A7CR? With the A7CR, you can crop 24mm to 50mm and still kale a 4K image, or you can crop that 35mm to 86.6mm and still have a 4k image.
I'm running almost the same setup: a7CR + Zeiss 35 f/2.8, but same JJC Air Tag grip, JJC thumb rest, peak design slide lite and a 24 f/1.4 GM in the bag for indoors or when it becomes night. Love that build, so easy to bring.
The A7Cii just rocks! It’s punches way above its weight! Funny you mention the grip, A7Cii has bigger grip than its predecessor. You must have big hands (I don’t need nor care for the thumb grip). It’s also the only Sony (along with the A7CR) that can do the “x-pan” (2.35:1) look aspect ratio which gives you a completely direct perspective on framing and composition.
Two follow up questions on your A7CII rig. First do like the bigger thumb grip from JCC and have you compared it to the lower one from Haoge? Second is your SmallRig addition just the base plate or did you get the one with the grip handle build out? Couldn’t tell from your video. I really like mine and I’m very happy with a simple all black build. I’m using both the Sony 24-50/2.8 G and either the 40/2.5 G or Zeiss Batis 40/2.0 CF although I like the idea of the 35/2.8 ZA which I don’t own anymore. Thank you and take care.
Your videos are great. Do you think it is better than the x100vi because that maybe does not resolve all those 40 megapixels with that older lens? Is this better to get right now or wait for a new a7ciii release, I have the Canon R5 its big, I have a RF 15 to 35 2.8 and a 50 mm 1.8 Canon, what do you think I need something lighter? What would you be getting? I might take Canon with me when I go on trips like Tokyo and places like that but for when I’m just doing street photography, maybe this is still the best option please advise….Maybe the A7cii with Sony FE 40mm f/2.5 G Lens 6 oz Sony FE 24mm f/2.8 G 5.7 oz is better? Then I can keep the R5 for rhe big wildlife stuff and use the A7cii for street travel.
I have recently paired the viltrox 20mm f2.8 FE and loved every second with my A7Cii, also loving my Sony 28 - 70mm f3.5 FE and the Tamron 28 - 200mm f2.8 FE paired to the A7Cii
I like the look with the Zeiss lens and square hood. Probably prefer black to green. I shoot Fuji XPro 3, but have eyed the A7Cs before due to full frame and compactness.
If you use the Smallrig grip there is space for a peak design anchor on the right side. This allows you to anchor a neck strap on the right side which lessens interference with the flip out screen and the EVF.
