Thank you so much! Just bought a 2nd hand Louet S10 yesterday. This was such a helpful video, as I’m new to spinning.

This is a great video. I just pulled my S10 after a few years off, and I was very inexperienced to begin with, so I had forgotten everything. I just subscribed in the hopes you create more videos :D. Thank you!

You're an amazing teacher. I like your videos. I too have the Louet S10 Spinning Wheel except mine is double treadle. I enjoy spinning on it.

I'm a natural lefty. Write, Knit, and crochet left handed. But when it comes to spinning I tend to favor the right.

How is yours angled back like that? I’ve looked at many S10s online and in person, and I haven’t seen one angled back/up like that before. I would love to have suggestions on how to make mine consistently angle that way - the treadle angle on my vintage S10 is pretty inconvenient for me, and having the orifice angled up so I can just sit on a higher chair would be so helpful.
I don’t know that you’re spinning left-handed, almost all the right handed spinners I know use their non-dominant hands to hold the fiber supply and their dominant hand as their gatekeeper/fine tuning hand. :-)
PTFE (teflon) powder or PTFE/graphite powder lube also works well for me for lubricating the orifice, in case that helps someone else.

Enjoyed the info but I would like you to show me how a beginner would spin slowly - it would help. lol

It is going to seem simplistic, but if you want to spin more slowly you have to develop a treadling rhythm that is S L O W! Beginning spinners generally treadle too fast, because they are tense, nervous and often frustrated -- the feet respond with that old flight or fight instinct and treadle faster.
Once you slow your treadling, then you'll find you have all the time in the world to get the draft zone the way you want it.
      I hope that this helps!

i am having trouble with the take up and breaking anything i try to start. i am used to a schacht matchless and i am really having trouble just getting it going without fiber breaking away from leader. thoughts?

Try running your yarn across and through both thread guides, if you have hooks, it's called cross lacing -- that will make the take up much less strong. ALSO take the break band off, but be sure to LUBE the brass bearing that the flyer sits on. If the Wheel is new, before sitting down PULL and HOLD on the drive band -- new drive bands are pretty tight.
