I really like how well you incorporated your own personal opinion into a formal documentary kind of video (and still some funny bits), its like as this channel is growing, rather than just sharing the facts about the places, you also show us how passionate you are about these topics.
Ever since my first visit to Disney World about two years ago, I've been watching his videos. I was chilling in the Port Orleans resort when I discovered his channel lol.
That bullet train simulator would be ridiculously easy to build and maintain, I'm surprised it never made it out of the drawing board. Plus Japan Railways (or at least their Eastern division) is very gung-ho about promoting their high-speed rail system overseas, hopefully they'll contact Disney at some point.
Hmm, I think it would have worked, but at the same time, I think Disney would have gotten tired of it like with certain other circlevision attractions like America The Beautiful when that was shown back in the '70's.
JR Central and JR East actually already have Shinkansen (and conventional line) driving simulators at their museums in Nagoya and Omiya, respectively. There is even a Maglev driving simulator at JR Central's. I'm sure they could be adapted for use in a mass capacity theme park ride without too much work and that either company would be more than happy to sponsor it.
7:46: "Honestly, it just seems like Disney had an enormous amount of bad luck and trouble with their attempts to build any new showcase pavilion." I feel like it's not as much "bad luck" as it is their insistence that somebody else pay the exorbitant construction costs of these new areas, while Disney itself makes billions off them. To my knowledge, the reason why the Maelstrom ride and the Norway pavilion were never updated (until Frozen came along...) was because Disney wanted Norway to fund it. Disney essentially sits on enough money to buy some of the actual countries they feature in pavilions, but somehow still find it reasonable to insist that others pay the construction. I wouldn't exactly call it "bad luck" when sponsors turn them down.
Yeah, in their slight defense, it made sense when the park was first built, as basically Disney was hardly in the greatest shape financially in the early-to-mid '80s. At the time, sponsors were probably the only way they could really get them out. Now though, it seems the only reason they require sponsors for EPCOT is either status quo/tradition, laziness, cheapness, or a whole mix of them. Between all the expansions of resorts and land constructions, I doubt sponsors may really be too necessary at this point.
I've always loved the World Showcase, but it felt incomplete to me. The countries seemed too small, I always thought that they should have been entire sections, immersing you in the culture and making you feel like you're really in that country instead of just being 1 or 2 themed shops and restaurants. I know that was never Disney's plan, but now it still makes more sense why I felt it was incomplete.
The Morocco pavilion always seemed more immersive to me than the others, even though it's not very big. It's the one place in World Showcase where I really get the feeling of being somewhere other than Disney World. I think it's because actual Moroccan artists were involved in the design.
Matt McIrvin I agree. That’s not an indictment on the Moroccan pavilion. If it’s the World Showcase, you should attempt to make it as authentic as possible. I was looking for a Greece inspired pavilion with a recreated Parthenon or Coliseum with Hercules involvement. I think with Greece’s bankruptcy crisis, that won’t happen.
Deku Kitty i agree!!! I went there on my senior trip in may and it was my first time there and it being disney i was expecting alot more theming, shows, attractions everything and alittle surprise of the size of the country too. but now i see why also its the way it is, they really did had some good ideas sucks it never came to life tho.
Most of it are European countries. It would be great if they decide to construct pavilions that would represent South America, Australia/Oceania, and Africa.
Is the bankruptcy issue in Greece preventing the country from installing a pavilion? Or was Disney just not interested in a Greek pavilion? I honestly thought a reconstructed Parthenon or Panathenaic Stadium with a Hercules involvement to get Disney sponsorship would be incredibly fitting for the World Showcase. Yeah, I can definitely imagine Greece being in the World Showcase.
Some of the countries that didn't happen were either due to political or financial issues. I was reading a book by an imagineer and two countries that were considered but didn't happen, were the Philippines and Iran. The Philippines due to funding issues and Iran due to political issues.
Actually the Norway pavilion was an offshoot of the Scandinavian pavilion when the Norwegians were the only ones to pony up. EDIT: As a former EPCOT Cast Member, this was a great video as always!
Harvie Richards I had a lot of fun. It helped a lot that EPCOT’s also my favorite park, so getting to see things from a different perspective was also a great experience.
Harvie Richards I was around WAY after Horizons closed, but I don’t doubt the sinkhole story. It’s Florida and it’s swampland and Occum’s Razor. As for Wonders of Life, the Health pavilion had been on the wish list forever. MetLife stepped up with the cash, and that’s what happened in 80s EPCOT. Incidentally enough, I visited Wonders of Life about 3 weeks before it closed. The Cast Member’s eerie warning/prediction of “See it while it lasts” will stick with me.
Ok, What Version Of Journey Into Imagination And Universe Of Energy Was Better? And Why Retheme The Living Seas To A Finding Nemo Version? May Ask Other Questions In The Future. (You Know What? Why Don't You Do A EPCOT Q&A?) P.S Have You Seen Some Jerk With A Camera's Three Part Epcot Retrospective???
I still want the Mt Fuji coaster so bad. They could put it between the US and Japan pavillions and since they want to bring in IPs, they could make it Big Hero 6. It's the perfect mesh since San Fransokyo is literally San Fransico and Tokyo put together (hence the name). Stupid Kodak.
So I've thought about that too. But there's so much backstage space behind the pavillions that I think the mountain portion itself could be next to Japan and an entrance/show building could be on the American side. They could always use a "union station" facade for that building to keep with the USA architecture. The Mt Fuji coaster part would go right by the area where the quick service and back gardens are. Disney could have an in between pathway that takes you to that back area and links both countries...maybe just a nice garden path with cherry trees since they do symbolize the friendship between our countries and Japan sent a lot to Washington DC.
I have quite the opposite reaction, you dont sound 12, so stop talking like one PLEASE. And to answer your question, nothing is up anything, so get on with it please.
It’s really awesome to hear when someone agrees with you on how Epcot is at the moment, especially since everyone is soooo stuck on product placement rather than what the park is- yes because Gardians of the Galaxy and Frozen really are what Epcot is all about
I’ve always had this weird fascination with learning things about Disney things. It’s a huge company and it’s odd to think something they slap their name on can still fail. The first story I learned about was what Epcot was originally meant to be and that’s sparked this for me ever since.
There is something really sad about our society that Disney, in order to make money, must abandon the educational -pro-future intriguing theme that the park was based on, in favor of "MUH GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY" and "MUH FROZEN." The whole point of Epcot was that it had to do with THE REAL WORLD. Fantasies were for Magic Kindgom. Movies were for Hollywood Studios. Epcot. Epcot was one the of few fun places on planet earth that wasn't trying to avoid being on planet earth and not in a fantasy land.
I'm hype for the Guardians Ride so don't misunderstand me. I think it should have been in Hollywood Studios. It all has to do with proper park theming. Epcot's future world should be about getting you hype for the future, showing of cool high tech shit, fun futuristic themed rides. World showcase, yeah what the Norway ride was pre-frozen was terrible as well. Not the point though. I hate when Disney throws their characters into a park that isn't about characters. Frozen stuff should be in Magic kingdom.
Epcot is a mess of a park, the idea for Future World is basically an old school Tomorrowland at Disneyland. Thing is that idea became quickly dated and TL was transformed into sci-fi area(which worked I hope it's get a refurb soon at DL). I think Future World should be current Tomorrowland but big with sci-fi stuff and what not. Epcot's core idea being about education was odd, since people go on vacation to get away to have fun. My idea has been to make Futureworld like I said above sci-fi land and world showcase well just add some rides to the pavilions.
i completely agree, the whole premise of epcot was edutainment, imagination, celebration of culture, and looking towards the future, now they have to resort to adding random movie rides in whatever park they please simply because it makes money. bob iger hasn't a clue
In theory, it was cool, but it probably would have dated itself as time went on. And definitely be too expensive. Disney did create a town in Kissimmee/Orlando area called Celebration, though. It's this super clean, picture perfect town in the middle of a tourist-heavy area. I believe Disney hasn't had anything to do with it for over 10 years now.
I visited Epcot a couple of weeks ago and it’s sad to see how much the park has been neglected and forgotten over the years. It’s truly one of my top favorite parks and it’s sad to see it in the state that it’s in. I hope what Disney has planned for the park over the next few years makes it stand out from the rest because Epcot needs that badly. And people want that badly.
Whoa why do I always find gamers looking up videos for theme parks? It's almost as though the 2 subjects go hand in hand... (Insert thinking emote here)
I was so lucky to see Epcot in 1983, shortly after it opened. At 8-years old, I was at perhaps the ideal age to have that experience. Once in a lifetime.
Now I'm really curious how much (if any at all) of their plans for Fuji went into Everest in Animal Kingdom. It's also crazy to think that Everest is Walt Disney World's last fully original ride (not based on a pre-existing brand) and it opened more than 11 years ago, and even with Avatar in the park the ride still remains super popular. Now, everything announced for Epcot's future has a movie tie-in (apart from a Mission Space refurb).
The movie tie ins are Igors efforts to ride on the coat tails of the popularity of the IP. The problem seems to be that di$ney wants to invoke their own ideas and actors and get rid of the originals. The fans are rejecting all of it. Id does not help that di$ney keeps increasing prices, almost monthly on everything and has removed and charges for any of the former perks to guests.
Hmm... The original design was drawn up before Expedition Everest was built--now WDW already has its own "Matterhorn" of sorts. Is there still enough to distinguish the Mount Fuji ride?
Matt McIrvin I think it could still work. The “Disney mountain” attraction has become an unofficial staple of Disney parks around the world. Magic Kingdom has Space Mountain and Big Thunder and Seven Dwarves, Animal Kingdom has Expedition Everest, Disneyland has the Matterhorn and Space Mountain and Big Thunder, Disney California Adventure has Grizzly River Run, Disneyland Paris has Space Mountain Mission 2 (now Hyperspace) and Big Thunder, Tokyo Disneyland has Space and Big Thunder, Tokyo DisneySea has 20,000 Leagues/Journey to the Center volcano, Hong Kong has Grizzly Peak and Space Mountain, and Shanghai Disneyland has the Adventure Isle Mountain attraction. I think that at this point, adding another one in Epcot would just add to the fun and the inside joke that is Disney mountain shaped/themed attractions.
I'm glad other people have the enthusiasm that I have had for EPCOT since I went on my first visit at age 3. I haven't visited since 2012 but I honestly hope Disney can find a way to modernize the future world portion of Epcot while still keeping with the original design and architecture. For me a big part of the appeal it the 1980's futuristic vibe-the hard part is keeping that current and still preserving some of that.
I love your videos! Abandoned is by far my most favourite series on UA-cam. Jake, please continue and dont stop what you are doing. Lots of love from Malaysia!
I used to work at the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot and let me tell ya seeing this video brought me to tears. I loved working at Epcot and on my days off I still found myself hanging out in that park because it's one of my absolute favorite parks in Disneyworld. I can't wait for the future plans they have because Epcot seriously needs some TLC. It breaks my heart knowing the Figment ride and Ellen's Energy Adventure are leaving but it's all for the best because i feel like this park has never had the opportunity to show it''s true glory. Anyway, this was super sentimental for me and I appreciate these videos so much, keep up the good work!!!
Jake, please keep doing this amazing work. I'm a fan of your channel! You make videos better than lots of Netflix or common UA-cam so called "documentaries". Thanks for bring us such interesting informations. Cheers from a fan in Brazil!
Love you Disney videos the best. Being Canadian I wanted to mention the log flume ride at the Canadian section that of course was never built. Also guardians I believe is supposed to have an energy theme to it. Like they need to rescue some batteries or something. Yes I realize this is a stretch but at least I'm happy Disney is finally putting money into epcot to breath new life into it again.
I LOVE your channel! Epcot is my favorite Disney park, and I found this really informative and fascinating. I appreciate the tough love you dole out toward the end.
Disney also considered a Philippines Pavilion complete with a concept art already. The pavilion will have a Spanish colonial era buildings and on the other side of the pavilion, a old style "Philippine house" were all are wooden house. The main entrance will be a "vinta" boats and Philippines patterns something like that. A restuarant and 300-600 seat theater showing the beauty of the Philippines. Only scrapped when the government of the Philippines didn't want to spend a lot of money just for a pavilion in Florida promoting the Philippines. This planned pavilion is way before EPCOT was even built. Otherwise, another awesome video Jake!
Another amazing and well done video! These are always so fascinating to watch but so depressing since it has SO MUCH POTENTIAL! And man, that Mt. Fuji ride looked incredible and they should totally do it! Thankfully, they are now starting to put more emphasis on Epcot and remodeling the park so hopefully over time they replace the shut down buildings and replace them with even better and more creative things that I know Disney is capable of!
Tbh, I would be ok with established Disney characters as "ambassadors" in the World Showcase, like they have cameos in rides, restaurants, and vintage-looking travel agency posters. But I'm against Frozen The Ride because I loved Maelstrom being all about Norway and trolls. Elsa and Anna should have been integrated in the way Jack Sparrow was for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Anyway, Disney could totally do Polynesia, Greece, Australia, Brazil, Philippines, Poland, Ireland, India, pavilions. Hell, even an Antarctica pavilion that bridges the gap between World Showcase and Future World as it has both scientific and geopolitical concepts they could use. Like the fact that Antarctica doesn't belong to any one nation as a way to promote world peace and cultural exchange.
I think that would have been a good idea instead of rehauling Norway to become...ugh..."Arendelle" from Frozen, like have specific characters from different areas of the world showcase be ambassadors - China/Japan would most likely be Mulan, Mexico would most likely be Donald Duck, Germany would most likely be Snow White (since the book and film is most likely be set there), hell, you could have Anna & Elsa come from Norway since technically "Arendelle" is supposed to be in Norway. But nope, we get that stupid Frozen Ever After ride that nobody wanted since Frozen is their cash cow!
XTheVideoGamerGirlX Japan could be Baymax and Hiro since they come from San Fransokyo--a blend of Japan and California from the future. Belle and the Beast, Cinderella, Quasimodo, and the mice from Ratatouille could alternate in France. Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel also come from Germany. Merida, Mary Poppins, Alice, Peter Pan, and Cruella de Vil in the UK. Pocahontas and Tiana in the US. Aladdin and Jasmine in Morocco. Pinocchio comes from Italy.
thirteenfury Curious how you mentioned Philippines, it was supposed to be there but the previous Philippine president didn't agree to supply authentic materials and money for the project. It had Spanish houses and beautiful colors splashed around.
Each and every video is flawless, and i could listen to your beautiful voice all day my friend. I cant wait for more abandoned vids man, thank you for quality entertainment
I love these videos! you put such a great amount of research and polish into everything you make and I really appreciate that. keep up the good work on making quality content!
I love this video it had me fucking dying for hours XD lol your witty sarcasm mixed with the historic data was so well executed that it showed your true passion for your craft! I love your channel and hope you release more well produced videos for 2018 because I will be there in A second :)
Awesome quality as usual, thanks Jake! Also, I would 1000% listen to a podcast about you ranting about Future World, I bet it would be incredibly entertaining!
This video was so good! I originally found your channel because of your Disney content and it's fantastic to see a new Disney video since your style and production values have grown. Awesome work!
12:12 - 12:45 is so relatable lol, that is exactly how I sound when I go to Epcot! Especially when you raise your voice like “the oDYSSEY IS STILL ABANDONED-“ LIKE THAT’S SO ME OMG WHY IS THE ODYSSEY STILL THERE
Bob Iger isn't going anywhere unless he wants to Disney has seen insane profits since he took over. Eisner was ambitious but always over reached and had a lot of his ideas die because of poor planning. Euro Disney was a diaster only saved by space mountain, and its issues killed WesCot, Port Disney, and Disneys America. Eisner also was all about putting movie based attractions in like Star Tours and Alien Encounter which was suppose to be about Aliens. So Eisner was no better
Jake I love you’re rant about all the issues with the current EPCOT. This is one of my favorite parks but agree with you’re conclusions. Thanks for the great video!
I love watching your abandoned videos! You do a good job of including the past, present, and future of the topics that you look at. I am a huge Disney World nerd, so I also look forward to watching your Disney-based videos. Two notes: I've heard some make the argument that Disney would not go forward with a Mount Fuji roller-coaster because they made Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom. Granted, it has a different concept, but the ride would be very similar in style. A similar argument has been made that since Disney has an entire section of Animal Kingdom themed to Africa, there would be no need for an Africa inspired World Showcase pavilion. I've read about some of the ideas, and it would have been an amazing pavilion. I would love to see a Brazil pavilion, or something inspired by South America. Disney might be leaning into its Coco franchise in the future, since the movie was a big hit. For all the expense that comes with creating new rides, I wouldn't be surprised to see Disney relying more on its IPs in the coming years.
Great video as always, Jake! =D Honestly, if I had a time machine, I would probably go back to Epcot in its heyday... *sigh* I'm disappointed that they're changing yet another classic ride, dressing it up with an IP and taking out the animatronics... Last I heard, they're going to keep the building itself intact and the new ride would allegedly honor Epcot's legacy... Granted, either the plans could change down the line or Disney PR is lying through its teeth, but I have a hard time believing their intentions anyway... Future World is BADLY in need of some updates, but it sounds like they're more concerned with adding thrill rides than legitimately updating their attractions. It feels like Disney corporate has contempt for Epcot... =( Anyway! Keep up the good work! ^^
I love watching your videos they are so well thought out. Epcot is one of my favorite parks and future world has so much potential it would be nice to see some new things while still keeping that Epcot touch. Anyway keep doing what your doing becasue your videos are amazing.
Frost it's on the board they just want to finish Hollywood and get guardians I know one ride being added will be ratatouille in France built in a new area in the back so it will be a good view for the sky line system I do think that most of it will be updating most of the rides and and ding coco in Mexico boat ride
Hah! I noticed right away that the Movie & Film Pavilion set at 02:38 is the facade for the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure. Great video Jake! Always edutaining :)
Wow, I had no idea there were all those plans for the World Showcase. I recall going there as a kid and seeing a lot of names on the map, but not a lot of actual countries built. This would've been early 90's or somewhere around there.
"Whats up guys!" Like these so much. Glad there was a new one! Love the commentary. It shows the knowledge and research you put into it, with some funny anecdotes and just the right hint of scarcasm :). until the next one!
My parent Met working on Horizons, and I remember in 2000 at the age of 14 after not having been to EPCOT since I was 3, I was eager and ready to see Horizons and get to remember it. Only to turn the corner and see half the building Missing. There was Heart break that Day. Now that my Dads Ride The Universe of Energy is being removed as well this Trip we just took last month is just a double sting to my Memory. Good video and Love a lot of your great footage. It was nice to see even pictures of the old attractions.
Why doesn't Disney just build their own pavilions? I mean they spend tons of money on everything else, just pick the most interesting countries and build a couple big attractions and be done with it.
Frankly, there is nothing I would love more to see at Disney than to see a much needed remodel of Epcot. Ever since I was a little kid I have been just captivated by Epcots theme
Honestly I really appreciate some of the background music being used from the Epcot soundtrack, I think some of it was from the water fountain/on the way to Test track if my memory serves me correctly. Always love your work!
Man, I have said it so many times Jake but your videos have such an incredible amount of absolute quality and entertainment, every video is just so interesting and enjoyable. I and many others consider you among the greatest channels on the platform, keep creating the best content possible. Many thanks from a true fan. :D
Thanks for an interesting video - as a ex-Imagineer it was interesting to hear your observations. Obviously you are aware that the focus of the corporation (especially after the Fox news) is more towards IP and the development of promotional attractions to support that IP. With the Avatar and Star Wars additions to the park I think you can see where if any new developments will happen, they will not be in the direction of a Mount Fuji concept... at the moment!
Oh I am well aware, the coaster is more of a pipe dream of mine. I realize its better to build something that can be associated with an IP then a stand alone. Thanks Kevin!
Thank you BSL - I hope I did not come across as too much a grouch; its just that I looked over the design concepts many moons ago for the park from the 1980's, and none survived the lens of time. A slight desperation was evident from all the design as they tried to find filler for the spaces. Now looking at the neglect currently witnessed and the failed ambition, then its hard to turn back to what was previously wished - but only to look forward at the new opportunities. Remember the current management are in transition (no matter the extension of the CEO's contract); those now want to leave a mark, and a salvage plan with the Guardian's and Star Wars (hotel and land) is just the kind of move. Had my first taste of Pandora during the trade show visit last month - loved the sim, so so on the water ride, and ok, at night, on the themeing - but that just reiterates the need for a strong development focus on the Guardian and Star Wars (and others) plans - and I just wonder if the Imagineer leadership is there for that?
Damn man your narration is so much better in these videos in the first one I was like what are you hi giggling all the time and all the “umms “ So much better I absolutely love your new videos
yo Jake i watch all of your shit and you do a fantastic job on all of your material. 1 thing...personally i think you need to have a little bit of ya face in these pieces. just think The Gaming Historian. Your content is basically on par, but youtube as a platform is really based around well ~ You! but take that with a grain of salt. what you're doing is working great for you and i'm happy to see you are getting the views and support you deserve. great content pimp ~ rossie
Epcot was so cool looking when I was a child in the 80's, but future world is lost right now. I'm really hoping that Disney can pull it back to the future concept with this revamp of the park. Hopefully they start soon. I was just there Feb 2018 and it's not just dated but falling part.
I would (now that I watched the entire video) rather see the Coaster in the Japan pavilion for the coaster, and Universe of Energy going away, replaced (updated with new tech and ideas of course) with a new version of Horizons ... the same sort of idea/magic Horizons had. .. maybe even in SOME (but not all) areas, paying tribute, to "Horizons 1.0" (so to speak) . I would love (I know there is $$ involved) to see Disney work with small companies with new INOVATED ideas and have some of those random ideas showcased in Innoventions. They can improve stuff with things like the coaster in Japan AND still stay true to the idea of Epcot in the early 90's, in my opinion.
I agree, rather have a coaster as Mt Fuji, it would be the right theme and look good. A coaster behind the Universe of Energy will be an eye sore. The art work I saw shows it to be a 13-14 story box, not easy on the eyes. It would be visible not only from within the park, but from the parking lot also.
Another great video Jake! Such a shame so many of these never got built. Epcot is kind of a mess right now as you said. Any of these concepts would be amazing esp. Mount Fuji!
I really like how well you incorporated your own personal opinion into a formal documentary kind of video (and still some funny bits), its like as this channel is growing, rather than just sharing the facts about the places, you also show us how passionate you are about these topics.

"journey into imagination is like experiencing a car crash" LMAOOO
Munchiezxx your car "crashes" on test track :)
The Original version of the ride was better
And yet I still go on it nearly every visit for a pinch-hit of Figment and to mourn the loss of the original.
As someone who was in the driver seat of a car crash, I can confirm.
I felt that way when they change the original universe of energy.
Actually the Norway pavilion was an offshoot of the Scandinavian pavilion when the Norwegians were the only ones to pony up.

What Were Your Experiences Working At EPCOT Centre?
Harvie Richards I had a lot of fun. It helped a lot that EPCOT’s also my favorite park, so getting to see things from a different perspective was also a great experience.

Amy Y well, Kodak went bankrupt so... lol
My problem with Fuji is that, right next to American Adventure, could dwarf what is supposed to be the grandest pavilion.
That's all good ideas, actually. Reminds me of the France expansion a bit.
Amy Y I agree! I want a Mt. Fuji Bullet Train Roller Coaster too!
I felt that mini rant about future world on a spiritual level
i felt it too megan, you're not the only one
*THE ODYSSEY IS STILL ABANDON-*
The mini rant was unneeded filler. It could’ve been better without it altogether
Man, I'm glad I found this Chanel. Keep up the good work!
Gotta love the feeling when you hear that distinct "What's up guys"
Aw ;)
I have quite the opposite reaction, you dont sound 12, so stop talking like one PLEASE. And to answer your question, nothing is up anything, so get on with it please.
It makes me feel a tad warm inside
Steve T dang don’t have to be rude
Steve T Troll😂
Frozen stuff should be in Magic kingdom.
the park was "MUH" hemorrhaging money.
Disney is to busy making complete piles of garbage out of historical entertainment properties to worry about actual future stuff.
i completely agree, the whole premise of epcot was edutainment, imagination, celebration of culture, and looking towards the future, now they have to resort to adding random movie rides in whatever park they please simply because it makes money. bob iger hasn't a clue
"Journey Into Imagination is like experiencing a car crash" I had to laugh.
Too bad Epcot never lived up to its original concept -- would've been cool to see it as a prototype community.
City Beautiful Agreed
The original agenda 21. Lol
I mean sure, it was a cool idea at the time, but at the speed technology moves today, completely unfeasible.
There are a few companies that are planning to build an city of the future, which is of course what Epcot would have been.
YESS!!!!! My favorite show on the internet!
Nicobbq hi I love yoy
Love ya
Bright Sun Films AAAAAAAAAAA
Sup Nico.
Whoa why do I always find gamers looking up videos for theme parks? It's almost as though the 2 subjects go hand in hand... (Insert thinking emote here)
Thank for 3 years of awesome videos for me! I'd like you to make a video on Sports Authority, history is really intresting.
Yes! Another Disney one! These are always the coolest!!
agreed!
Agreed too
dank memes ui
Another quality film, Jake. I know how much work these things take to produce and edit, and you do one helluva job with it.
Holy shit if Disney made a Mount Fuji ride it would make OBSCENE amounts of money.
Of all the mountain rides in every Disney park you listed, you forgot Splash Mountain lol
Finally!! I’m obsessed with abandoned series. Well done jake!
Dude your combination of loving abandoned shit and Disney shit is so 100% exactly what I love... keep up the good work
Your videos are the best videos on UA-cam! You put heart into your videos, and that's something that other UA-camrs don't do these days. Keep it up!
The Bullet Train and the Mt. Fuji coaster would've been awesome!
This a great video just what I needed
I love your videos! Abandoned is by far my most favourite series on UA-cam. Jake, please continue and dont stop what you are doing. Lots of love from Malaysia!
Haven't even watched this yet but I can tell this is going to be good 😄
I used to work at the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot and let me tell ya seeing this video brought me to tears.
Amazing video. I always get hooked within the first 10 seconds of watching.
Jake, please keep doing this amazing work. I'm a fan of your channel! You make videos better than lots of Netflix or common UA-cam so called "documentaries". Thanks for bring us such interesting informations. Cheers from a fan in Brazil!
True some so called 'documentary' are pure garbage 🗑️.
I agree with your opinions! The parks are all losing their theming to whatever the most popular IP is. Bring back the unique aspects of the parks!
It really bothers me that disney has so many great ideas for epcot but instead chooses to shove IP everywhere.
Like the fact that Antarctica doesn't belong to any one nation as a way to promote world peace and cultural exchange.
thirteenfury Just wait, it's only a matter of time before they turn the Gran Fiesta tour staring the three Caballeros in Coco the boat ride.
darkdistiller Actually I would enjoy that since they're so obscure and need more love from Disney.
I love these videos! you put such a great amount of research and polish into everything you make and I really appreciate that. keep up the good work on making quality content!
the ranting towards the end was my fave part, "alright alright" LOLOL
Finallyyy
That giant greenhouse is probably my favorite of these. I just love the designs and ideas for it. It could be an attraction all in and of itself.
amazing jake! dying at your commentary of future world
Simply amazing. Literally the best mixture of facts, opinions and fun! Keep up the good work Jake!
Make an abandoned of the Fountainbleu resort which is a Half finished hotel on the Las Vegas strip, huge fan!
This video was so good! I originally found your channel because of your Disney content and it's fantastic to see a new Disney video since your style and production values have grown. Awesome work!
Amazing video with some really interesting facts about Epcot!
12:12 - 12:45 is so relatable lol, that is exactly how I sound when I go to Epcot! Especially when you raise your voice like “the oDYSSEY IS STILL ABANDONED-“ LIKE THAT’S SO ME OMG WHY IS THE ODYSSEY STILL THERE
YES THANK YOU FOR THIS GIFT
Emily Bynum iAZa;
Out of every documentary-esque UA-cam series, I love yours. Thank you for making these!
A GOOD DAY IS A DAY WHEN ABANDONED IS UPLOADED
As someone who has never been to a Disney park, I find these videos fascinating.
I doubt any of the concepts will happen, unless disney can connect it to a movie, which is all they do anymore
Dang these videos are good. Sorry for poking fun at ya last video, no offense intended. You're my favorite "dead business" youtuber. ❤️
"Imagination is like experiencing a car crash." I almost DIED! I laughed so hard, that was the best thing. I love your videos XD
Another great video Jake. Very very well done! I adore you for the moment at 12:07.
Great video as always, Jake! =D
Honestly, if I had a time machine, I would probably go back to Epcot in its heyday... *sigh*
I'm disappointed that they're changing yet another classic ride, dressing it up with an IP and taking out the animatronics...
Anyway! Keep up the good work! ^^
I would also like to go back in time to old Epcot!
sablelioness same.
Even though I’ve watched all your abandoned videos before, sometimes I’ll binge watch them all because they’re so interesting and addicting to watch!
I like how your merch is actually affordable
Such an addicting channel to binge watch. And youre intro is really good! not too long and straight to the point. Keep up the great work!
Meanwhile in 2017, Disney could probably afford to buy the actual Matterhorn and Mt. Fuji.
Lmfao they just can seem to figure out what to do with MGM and Epcot. Which could have been two of the worlds best parks...
Frost At least Hollywood Studios has Star Tours and Tower of Terror (especially since the one at California Adventure was replaced with GOTG).
I love watching your videos they are so well thought out. Epcot is one of my favorite parks and future world has so much potential it would be nice to see some new things while still keeping that Epcot touch. Anyway keep doing what your doing becasue your videos are amazing.
Epcot is cool but in 2017 it still needs way more rides...
Frost it's on the board they just want to finish Hollywood and get guardians I know one ride being added will be ratatouille in France built in a new area in the back so it will be a good view for the sky line system I do think that most of it will be updating most of the rides and and ding coco in Mexico boat ride
bigevilworldwide1 that is not at all true? I know a lot of people who love Epcot. Don’t be a dick.
Bring back Alien Encounter: The Extra-terror-estrial!
But in late 2020 it still needs new rides
Hah! I noticed right away that the Movie & Film Pavilion set at 02:38 is the facade for the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure.
Great video Jake! Always edutaining :)
Always find Jake’s video’s quite relax and informative at the same time.. its only a matter of time that this channel is gonne grow huge.. 😏
i like listening to your voice its calming as i get informative info on abandoned/canceled works and projects
I want to get a t-shirt that says "Journey into Imagination is like experiencing a car crash"
For the past 2 years your videos have always given me a strange sense of nostalgia and comfort that nothing else can recreate. Thank you.
BSF and Epcot, name a more iconic duo. I'll wait...
They'd rather get someone else to invest the money to insulate them from losses if it doesn't pan out. That's the thinking in all of Epcot really.
Additionally, they don't want the governments of other countries to complain.
Thank you so much, seriously!
Building something associated with an Ip is fine. But building something that drives your imagination is Figment
Switzerland would be lit as f(said. Before seeing the mt fuji part)
Faze rkj India or Greece would’ve been better.
Your video is very well made. I like that you provide video credit at the bottom for the clips. Very professional.
Your thorough research and citations are so refreshing. Very very well done:)
I BINGE YOUR VIDEOS ALL THE TIME
Great video Jake. Nice to see a Disney video. So many abandoned concepts.
Liked before i watched
I love how passionate you are about epcot
they really need another Walt at the helm of disney
I miss Ellen, too. Honestly, you hit on everything I have felt about Epcot, which is also my favorite park.
I miss the old Epcot :(
Another great video Jake! Such a shame so many of these never got built. Epcot is kind of a mess right now as you said. Any of these concepts would be amazing esp. Mount Fuji!
