I was watching an old episode of The Price Is Right from 1982 the other day and one of the products was that Gillette Foamy cream, identical package. I instantly remembered your previous video when you shaved with it. So, they definitely used that can design in 1982.
I just found your channel. So knowing I had a safety razor somewhere in my bathroom, I went on the hunt. Found it and it is a Merkur 34C and I still had some feather blades. Cleaned it up and used it for probably the first time in 20 years! Been using an electric razor since I was on the road alot. Now I am retired with all the time I need. Thanks so much for making these videos. Oh, and I wanted to tell you that at 70 years old this was the first time I shaved twice! It was always a one and done. Thanks again.
Good to see you my friend. I’m glad your family is doing well. I hope you have a nice Easter with your family. Take care and see you on the next one. - Josh
Funny just watched one of your 70's shaving videos yesterday. Using a DE razor and canned foam was the way most guys shaved from the mid-50's through the early 70's. Don't forget a cheap drug store aftershave. I dig it!
Nice combo shave today, up here we have a big bad storm snow ❄️, rain 🌧, to freezing rain and power out ,but you have better weather were you got 🪒have a wonderful Easter 🐣 weekend 💈
Wow mate that lemon lime can gave me such a flashback! I’m a young kid and my dad is standing in front of the mirror with that exact can. I’m in my fifties now and my dad is in his eighties He’s an old muso too, and in the sixties his band supported the Rolling Stones when they toured Australia in I think it was ‘65
Hi mr sinatra my name is Saud I’m 22 years old and I’m from Saudi Arabia I’ve been watching you for almost 4 years now I started wet shaving because of you I learned some life lessons from your stories and daily life things that you talk about and after 1 year of wet having I bought my first fatboy and I’m planning to give it to my son when I have family later it just that I had a fun time watching you and it feels kinda special when you grow watching a guy shaving talking about his life thank you for everything I hope you mention me in your next video it would mean a lot Kind regards, Saud
I bought the 'Murica razor and it is outstanding, nothing less than BBS every time I use it. My only regret is I didn't order one in time to get the signature Sinatra Lennon or Texas model. Ah well. Like you I feel good about supporting small, family owned American businesses. PS Happy Easter to you and your family!
I absolutely loved that shaving cream when I was a younger man. I used it pretty much exclusively. Ironically, with the focus on more authentic, natural scents today I can't seem to find that good old Foamy fragrance. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week!
Hello I really enjoy this. I recently rewatched an 70s and 80s commercial compilation video, and in it there was a lost commercial for a Gillette foamy scent unknown to even the internet, it’s the Gillette Foamy tropical coconut I originally searched the internet for it 3 years ago and nothing could be found until recently I looked it up again and someone on eBay was selling some cans, I purchased them because I’m not letting such a rare opportunity slip by I’m waiting for them to ship. Anyway if you want to hear more about it I could tell you I even have the lost commercial in my possession as it too cannot be found.
I use the Wet Shaving Clubs, Merica razor pretty much every time now days and love it. They have just released a new improved base plate for it. I’m just waiting for it to be shipped from the US.
I used Lemon/Lime Foamy for years. It became unavailable about 7 years ago. I switched to TOBS Lime and now Castle Forbes Lime…awesome scent. I got a High Point and like it, except for the fact that the magnetic cap tends to stick to my skin. It needs a lubricious strip above the blade, not unlike those on cartridge razors. If the boys in Montana made this change, it would rival the Twig, which is my current “go to” razor.
I believe that the Gillette shave cream was from the 80's - I know my dad used to use that and you're right that scent is unforgettable - and I'm sure I used it too when I was a young teen and a Bic disposable before I had been gifted a Norelco floating head electric - I didn't really return to disposable or cartridge razors until after college.
Wow the first youtube shave to use differnt razors and shave soap then to gillettte foamy others just stick one thing or another then they might change it up

I watch episodes of The Price is Right from 1982 every single hour of every single day.
Sounds about right. Had a can with that exact design back in the early 80's. It was a common as chips in our supermarket.

Rainy and 48 degrees here in Nashville. I LOVE it too! I used that Lemon-Lime Foamy when I was a young man. So glad I switched to Barbasol.
Still here. Still enjoying it all. Have a great weekend and a happy Easter.
Friday shave with Sinatra AND a hill country rain in the background!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Lemon-lime should come back as a shaving cream scent. Why did it ever leave?
Try TOBS or Castle Forbes Lime…both great.

A fun chat and a great shave. Looking forward to finding out what your Dad thinks of the twig, thorn and high proof! Have a great week.
Great video, but I always wonder, isn't there an expiration date on those cans? I always thought it qas maybe 3 years from the production date.

@@dappershaves greetings!
I liked the scent of this shaving cream. I have been a shaving soap user for years now though, and I can't remember the last time I used cream.
I was in Austin today on a long layover and kept an eye out for you. Didn’t see you but enjoyed some great food as usual.

@@SinatraLennon I’ll sure do, I expect they’ll probably have an chemical coconut scent something like the lemon lime 😅
