I am 66 years of age and I still fondly remember our custodian in my elementary school, Mr. Bahmes. Such a kind man that made a positive difference in my and others life. School custodians sure don't seem to get the recognition they so deserve. This video truly touched me as I'm sure it did these deserving custodians. I hope they had a fun evening out together 💞
I was an elementary school nurse, and I came to realize the people I worked with could and would have taken good care of those kids if I was out a day, but we all knew the school would have had big problems if we went a day without custodians.

Janitors are very under looked and underpaid . They work so hard and they have to deal with either disrespectful kids or loving kids and they deserved something like that very much .

I treated the custodian at my high school like family. I worked for Safeco Field in high school and would give him tickets to Mariners games for him and his family. Both of my parents are janitors and I remember my mother talking about feeling unappreciated and underpaid.
Im sure school custodians are under appreciated by some but they work hard under the radar of so many . I don't think Ive thought about a school custodian since high school . We'd leave for the day and the next morning the place was clean and the restrooms were restocked and we never thought about How.. Thank you to all School custodians and anyone else who works under the radar to make our lives easier.
I always included the custodians during every holiday throughout my daughters school years, they work so hard and are so under appreciated. This was so nice!

the custodians are the unsung heroes of well everywhere. my journey with helping the custodian started with an in-school suspension in elementary school as my punishment i had to clean chalkboard erasers so i served my time. then since it was more fun than sitting alone doing nothing because i didn't really have any friends to go play without at recess or lunch I volunteered to do it anyways I would always help the custodian during recess I'd have a routine go deliver freshly cleaned chalkboard erasers and collect the dirty used ones to be cleaned. at lunch id be out in the halls with the dust mop then id go and clean the erasers i collected during morning recess than at afternoon recess id swap out erasers in another wing and because i was walking distance to the school id stay behind and clean the afternoon erasers and help take down and fold the flag when everyone left for the day. then turned out the custodian lived just down the street so she came over thanked my parents and asked if she could drive me home so I'm not getting home so late and that was from first grade to 6th when I moved i hear its still the same custodian i want to go see her but I as a 30-year-old guy don't want to deal with the people thinking I'm a creep
Hopefully the school district won't get those people in trouble for accepting a gift. You know how local government can be? On a positive note though it was very nice to see.
Now If there were ever people who could use the $ we've seen you dish out, they were standing right there in front of you. A night out and a movie is a good thing, but that meal will be digested and gone the next day but a couple hundred bucks for groceries lasts a lot longer. I think '21 will be spent doing more giving from us.
With all respect students should not be assuming the pay scale of anyone. This is a society we're raising to think everyone is underpaid. A job pays what it pays, if you feel you are underpaid then get a new job. No such thing as being underpaid.

In a way this was kind of offensive rather than rewarding. Lots of belittling words…and then they are given probably a 400 reward to share among 7 people. It’s appreciated im sure but they could’ve done more if they were going to put them on blast like that.
