Cameramens deserves more credit in those kind of action movies. Like imagine how hard it is to try filming stuffs in the middle of bee swarms and earthquakes?
Particularly when told to go handheld rather than keeping the camera on an attachment. If they're anything like what I see on TV and in movies then these sorts of cameras can be rather bulky and unwieldy, which would be why stands were created. I assume there was a time where cinematography people felt that a stable camera angle was needed for hours on end even if the cameraman isn't physically able to keep it up so a solution was invented, before someone decided that shaky was what their movie needed, then someone else saw the success and copied the filming techniques, which created a trend, and now we have a problem that was solved being created on purpose by people who think they're brilliant visionaries.
You reminded me of that one Supernatural episode where swarming bees were attacking them. The director wanted it to look realistic to avoid fake looking CGI bees. So they released actual bees. I think the actors even got stung. When reviewing the footage, none of the bees were even visible and they had to add the CGI bees anyway. 😂🤦
Man, the "That was BEAUTIFUL!!!" got me so good 😂. And the thing I love is how he actually takes time to reply to his comments, unlike so many other youtubers.
This kind of director in Hollywood is counter-balanced by a very talented editor that takes all the BS they filmed and some how magically turns it into a functional movie.
