    This is one of the best interviews I've heard on a Joe Rogan show..

    I literally just finished reading his book “gift of fear” and decided to look him up. It was a great read. ❤ thank you Gavin for giving me the insight & ability to now verbalize my experience of my ex-boyfriend. It was a toxic relationship with a mentally unstable man who stalked and harassed me for months. I’m so grateful for your advise.

    If there is one book I recommend without reservation it is Gavin DeBecker's, "The Gift of Fear" it is one of the few books I have reread again and again. It can save your life. It is especially a good thing to have your teen aged children read.

      yes, I've given the book as a gift, one friend told me it drew her in immediately, but this man is so strategic, he's not into wasting time or words, plus engaging vital subject, great storyteller.

    Glad to see Joe Rogan opening up his show to brilliant, Feminist men like Gavin DeBecker. His book, 'The Gift of Fear' is a must-read for all women and enlightened men. It could save your life. I finished it on a plane and gave it to my flight attendant as a Thank You for getting me wine-drunk :)

    2:01:05, come on Joe. Saying taking a self defense class is useless? Just learning how to properly push away and run, strike and run….most attacks can be avoided by simple striking, scratching, screaming and then distract enough to make a break for it. He’s not saying go take a YMCA self defense course then go to the bar and start a fight. Just knowing that you need to fight and what it feels like to throw a punch…..even a GIRL punch. Have the best chance you can. “Go study ju jitsu for 10 years, then you’ll be ready to prevent a rape!” Come on now!

    • @jodifeltonwrites
      @jodifeltonwrites 3 місяці тому

      And Gavin's philosophy is knowing the pre-incident indicators BEFORE the attack even happens-- using one's brain and gut-brain is your #1 weapon is Gavin's whole shtick in the first chapter of his book TGOF. Genius way to arm women-- it's feminine thinking really, being intuitive. I know it's challenge for Joe's masculine thinking of...well, I really don't get Joe's worldview honestly-- bro, does not put his feet in a woman's shoes which is why it is good Gavin is on to educate him. Fight if necessary, but if you let it get to the physical, you missed the point of the magic that is Gavin 😒

    • @racheltarentino3314
      @racheltarentino3314 2 місяці тому +1

      For sure. Women and men have different nervous systems and women have to constantly be aware of the physiological differences in us. I think women would be better at adjusting our reactions to fight or flight since we've learned naturally from a young age to be more aware of our physical safety than men
