My heartfelt appreciation and respect for every single individual that participated in finding a home for Lelya and Dasha. If you have ever lived near 'bear country' you should realize how intelligent bears are and at the very least keep a good distance and not carry food around--bears can scent many, many times better than us.
That was the sprint of their new-gained freedom, yes they are still under human care because they wouldn´t survive on their own after so many years in the concrete cages, but they feel grass under their big paws now, finally. Ukraine is not safe anymore, but Müritz is.

It's incredibly sad, to think, that would have been the first time they had ever got to run like that. They are magnificent creatures and deserve so much more than the terrible life they've had until now. It should be made illegal to capture any creature from the wild like this and, for such terrible reasons as well....what a wonderful life they are living now - it's their birthright and, should never have been stolen from them in the first place. Once again, I have to ask, what sort of people are drawn to eat at a restaurant that imprisons and humiliates wild creatures? What is the attraction in that?? Thank you for saving them. Perhaps the bears can have the restaurant owners imprisoned in boxes in their new species appropriate enclosures for entertainment!!
I saw forested enclosures and I was so excited. Then, I watch further and see that they were moved someplace that did not have that. I mean it's still nice and all, but the forested enclosures! That was cool.
Hi, they do have trees in the new enclosure in BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz too, it’s similar to what they had in BEAR SANCTUARY Domazhyr. Maybe the video gives a different impression, because you see only a part of the enclosure, but the enclosures are similar.
I watch so many videos from different bear sanctuary channels. They all sadden me then cheer me as the bears lives are improved. I subscribe to them but, I'm only able to donate to a couple. I'm so sorry, I just don't have the funds to give more.
LOVE & GRATITUDE! I am in terrible anger re the situation in Sweden. Sweden has been invaded by evil forces. 2022 first 102 Bears with cubs were shot from helicopters, later 524 Bears were shot in "licence" hunting. This year 2023, in spring about 70 Bearmothers with a cub, cubs were shot from helicopters and now latest report yesterday 571 Bears have been shot and the goal is set to 649 Bears. This means Bear population in Sweden has been reduced with 50% within 2 years! Bears are protected, which means "a certain amount" can be murdered through licence hunting according to the Habitats Directive. Sweden is consistently violating the Habitats Directive!
I just don’t know how anyone could find watching those poor bears entertaining. We are supposed to be civilised people but yet such cruelty to animals in different countries is beyond me.

BEAR SANCTUARY Domazhyr is in western Ukraine and although air strikes have also been reported from this part of the country, our colleagues and 28 bears (+ 1 bear in temporary keeping) are doing well under the circumstances. FOUR PAWS has taken appropriate precautionary measures to provide the best possible care for our rescued bears in these difficult times, and we are re-evaluating the security situation for people and animals in BEAR SANCTURAY Domazhyr on a daily basis.
