I took Stace away on a surprise trip from Auckland to Queenstown for her 30th birthday and it was epic! We're blessed to be able to still have some New Zealand travel adventures during such a strange time (borders just closed again) so this was even more special.
There's so many incredible things to do in Queenstown it was tricky to pick which activities to plan! Seeing some snow was a must, and a secret helicopter mission is always worth the money, so an alpine landing up in the mountains beyond Queenstown sounded perfect... and it was! Finding a great Airbnb to house us all in some nice accommodation overlooking the lake was also a must, the rest wasn't as important, but of course Queenstown delivered.
While this was 4 nights for us and the video shows off some of the best Queenstown activities, it doesn't show the time where we just appreciated how beautiful this place is as a destination. Like a lot of places in New Zealand, you can just walk around the lake, explore the shops, cafes, restaurants and parks - Queenstown is such a beautiful place that you don't need an itinerary of ultimate things to do every day, a few activities here and there to fill in space and memories and the rest is stunning regardless of what you do.

What an incredible birthday! Great job planning Daneger! Helicopters are so freaking cool. If you’re ever in Vegas, do a Grand Canyon heli tour with Maverick and choose the option where you land IN THE CANYON about halfway down to the river and you get snacks and champagne. What an awesome surprise! Please go back and film a series in/around Queenstown. Just a glimpse of the wine/cheese/food/ etc really made me want more!! I am currently planning a trip to NZ, just planning at this point until borders open and we can travel again, but we're planning about a week in the Queenstown area so I'd really love to see what you guys can get into there!

Hi what a great birthday treat! I've just spent six days in Queenstown for a special birthday but on my own. Stacey you're so lucky to be with such a sweet guy. I was told I'd have something special happen when I went on my helicopter flight but that never happened. Also was promised a bottle of wine by a friend, but that didn't happen either. I had a lovely meal at Farelli's that night but it would've been so much nicer with company. All the best to you both with all your travels.
