- Yes, I know the update isn't actually out yet at the time of releasing this video, but it is confirmed it should be releasing today (hopefully this is not a lie).
For the most part, ghosts were actually quite well-balanced and should provide some sort of challenge to anybody.
Strobenz Desert Illusion (9.25/10, beat by .567)
One of the three Strobenz tracks from the update, this one arguably focuses the most on tech and admittedly it is very difficult to finish runs here. It's a shame we couldn't have a dry bones bullet bike ghost since that was the intention, plus Echo's run is actually pretty impressive minus an unoptimal shroomless l2 (which can be annoying tbf; you're meant to wheelie but I TF)
3DS Rainbow Road (8.5/10, beat by .417)
What an amazing update; will actually kill the lag that is present on current while drastically improving the visuals and how the moon section works. Ghost definitely did not need to be as hard as it is but it's fine ig because Vrock needed a hard ghost!
Superstar Dystopia (8.5/10, beat by .158)
Minor update that fixes bugs and addressed a concern with the particles at the start line. Also makes the first shroomcut a bit easier which is quite nice for setting runs. As for the ghost, I think it's a tad easier than current despite it being a little faster due to the fact of how the area around the ending cut plays. The wheelielock and poor ending is why I didn't beat this by more ahhhh
Blissful Block (6.5/10, beat by 1.766)
The second Strobenz track of the update, it's the first CT to implement a MK8DX style of gates to present a new path each lap, which I was intimidated by at first but in reality, is super impressive. Ghost is a good challenge, especially considering the difficulty of the track. I suck at the ending section l3 lol
Lumpy's Lively Lair (6.5/10, beat by 1.157)
Track was fun before the update and love it even more due to making the hop shroomless 100% consistent. Praying this actually gets a decent reputation and competitive players take this track more seriously. Also this ghost is definitely a decent buff idc what you say jc.
τ-Cryovolcano (5.25/10, beat by 2.254)
The third Strobenz track; is actually quite challenging considering the thwomps at the start, the downstream section, and the epic gimmick of making everything (including offroad) slippery road l3. I do kinda worry about how this slippery road gimmick will play online, especially with the thwomps at the start of the lap, but I'm actually pretty good with this gimmick so I'll be picking this to skill issue people online hehe.
Cosmic Grove (4/10, beat by 1.634)
Minor update to fix a couple things; ghost got nerfed a little bit which ig is fine.
Ice Cream Fortress (3/10, beat by 2.828)
Another minor update but massive dubs to adding item boxes on the top route after cannon. Also glad that the ghost actually uses Birdo now.
The Grand Archives (1.5/10, beat by 6.854)
Another Metabus track that is definitely very lines-reliant; visuals are impressive af. I do worry this will be broken for running, given that it has two shroom cuts and the first cut can be blocked with 1 item and the second be made significantly harder if blocked with a few items (ex: triple nanas). Ghost is pretty much free; kinda wish this was on the slightly harder side but ig a kart ghost is cool?

are the gold stars' difficulties from the hotfix the same or are they different now? also, I just beat lost fortress as I'm typing this
also, do you have pretendo by any chance?
all of them were buffed by different amounts. rrse was buffed by .1, sdi by .4, and blissful by .6

@@bowser498pretendo is the replacement for nintendo network that shuts down in a week from now. I have pretendo to play online on 3ds after the official servers go down. I lowkey kinda wanna play mk7 with you one day if you're ever down. if not, it's all good
