CTGP-R Update 1.03.1156 - February 2024 || All Gold Stars

Easier update overall this time around. This update introduces the first 3 tracks of Strobenz' "Chronocup" in Blissful Block, τ-Cryovolcano and Strobenz Desert Illusion, all being absolutely groundbreaking tracks despite my personal opinions on how they play. The Grand Archives is the next Metabus track and is probably the best driving track we've had in a while. These new tracks along with some much needed updates to Lumpy's Lively Lair and Rainbow Road: Solar Edition make for an overall update rank of 7.5/10.
In total the gold stars here took me approximately 10 hours, mostly due to the pure difficulty of some of the tracks.
GOLD STAR BREAKDOWN:
Cosmic Grove - 4/10 - .5 nerf from previous (thankfully), Having learned the shroomless cuts from the previous update, this one isnt too bad. Just make sure you land on the mid right of the front face of the mushroom for lower air. Took 1 try to beat by 0.6
Ice Cream Fortress - 3/10 - This ghost loses a ton of time because of birdo mach obviously which is even more prevalent on purely driving based tracks. Just learn the turns within the fortress and you're set. Took ~5m to beat by 2.3s
Lumpy's Lively Lair - 5/10 - The offroad before the shroomless is flatter now thank fuck. Overall big improvement, finally bringing this track out of bottom 1 territory and all the way up to bottom 10. It's funny, even though this is 3.3 seconds faster than it was, it's still a nerf because of the ramp strat staying up on l2 and also the track not being just that much easier. Took ~10m to beat by 0.8s
Rainbow Road: Solar Edition - 7/10 - Ghost loses time on the driving, primarily on the spiral and the pipe thing towards the end (Although I did it worse than him both laps). Just make sure you don't go monkey mode and try to do the ending shroom with a wheelie for about an hour and wonder why you arent making it. Took ~1.5h to beat by 0.5
Superstar Dystopia - 8/10 - Ghost is roughly the same time as previous but its a slight nerf still because the track is faster (wider rail, turn around the shroom at the end on lap 2, and faster ending section). I don't have any specific advice here as the ghost again just seems to lose time on driving and thats it. Took 30m to beat by 0.7
The Grand Archives - 2/10 - Kart ghost, avoid walls and do the gap cut 3/3 and you should win pretty easily. Took ~10m to beat by 3s
Blissful Block - 7/10 - Remember where to go challenge, ghost loses a fair amount of time on l3 fortunately so you can be like down .4 and still beat it without needing to drive exceptionally. The way i do the shroomless on l3 is unoptimal but a lot safer. For the tricks at the start try to trick off them as late as possible for consistency and also to have an easier time avoiding the cars. Took ~2.5h to beat by 0.5s
τ-cryovolcano - 4/10 - Another ghost on kart, fortunately its not particularly difficult otherwise I would kill myself. The second cut on l1 is the main culprit and honestly without that cut this track wouldnt even be that bad in TTs. The main time loss/gain is the zipper at the top of the volcano, try to enter wide-ish and go off as low as possible. Took ~20m to beat by 0.8
Strobenz Desert Illusion - 9/10 - Hardest of the update, track isn't too insanely difficult other than the rock strat at the end where genuinely 90% of your runs die on flame, much easier on mach though so to anyone just looking for the gold star I would strongly recommend to switch. Other than that, remember to go tight on the l1 shroom and wide on the l2 shroom, I have hit the shy guy karts there more times than i can count. Took ~4.5h to beat by 0.7
