Indeed. Had Chloé been the one to find out Ladybug was Marinette it could have started a rivals-to-friends arc with a true redemption. It could go back and forth, with perhaps Chloé being hurt by the knowledge, Hawk Moth sending an akuma, then Chloé rejecting it because of her belief in Ladybug overcoming her disdain for Marinette. I'd love this because it would cause a rift between Alya (who wouldn't fInd out Marinette's secret) and Marinette and thus leaving her seemingly open to Lila's lies.
What pissed me off about this episode is that had set up the lesson to be about Marinette learning to trust Chloe's judgement or at least not letting her personal feelings about her school bully get in the way of Ladybug's duty, but midway through it was all about Chloe learning to be a better person to Sabrina. Had this been set in two episodes, it would have been way better. Imagine if Sabrina was her normal civilian self, only turning invisible whenever wanted to torment Chloe, with hawkmoth using that as a trial to see if he could eventually come up with a second Akuma to get Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous mid fight or follow them when they detransform! That would have been a cool way to deal with a vanishing villain, set up a good mystery as the cast has to figure out why Chloe is being bullied by a poltergeist, and at the same time have to deal with a second villain and protect their secret identities while Marinette learns to let go of her personal feelings for Chloe and trust her judgement! Which also could be a nice set up for Queen Bee, as the three would have to work together to save the day!

Astruc constantly writing Cat Noir and Hawkmoth as incompetent fools is insulting to us all. It isn't empowering, it isn't flattering, it isn't necessary. It is just insulting and infuriating. Every. Single. Time.

I hate it when writers try to prop up one group by dragging down the other... Instead of just writing them competently and showing us they're capable and strong. Hawk Moth being so pathetic just makes Ladybug look bad, because she struggles to stop him despite his incompetence. And showing Cat Noir as incompetent also makes Ladybug look bad, because _in-canon_ they are supposed to have equal power level and importance.

I honestly don't blame Marinette for not trusting Chloe as Chloe was lying about what actually happened, had no shame about her behavior, was more worried about Ladybug liking her and getting her attention, and didn't listen and take Ladybug's warning seriously and getting in the way which almost ruined everything. Let's not forget Marinette and Chloe's history, which adds more fuel to why Marinette isn't going trust Chloe. However, it makes sense in this episode that Marinette learns not to let her bias and history with Chloe get in the way during her hero work, which is the case here. I liked the episode, but I wish they had done something different with Sabrina's Vanisher design, as it could have been more exciting. They went with just the regular outfit Sabrina always wears in the show but just invisible, boring.

Instead, the powers are made from the talents, desires, situation, and turmoil (if an akuma) or the talents, desires, situation, and fortitude (if a kamiko) of the person being akumatized/kamikotized. Basically it brings to life ones inner demon (akumatized) or inner angel (kamikotized). Sure, the wielder of the miraculous bringing the inner demon/inner angel to life knows what the power(s) is/are; but does not actively select them for the chosen. No being can be all-powerful; all things have limitations; so it means all beings will have an Achilles Heel; a bane; including the akumatized. Similar to the Bloody Verses for the 12 Kings of Sharakai.

I'm pretty sure that butler was playing "mustache man" willingly. There is once a season episode showing him trying to be a good influence on Chloe and, honestly, being more of a father figure than her actual father. Then, of course, "Miracle Queen" happened, Chloe was declared irredeemable and he retroactively became another of her "victims".
Ok. I am still on the redemption arc kick in my fan fiction. Seeing Sabrina in revenge mode and later as miraculer is wasted opportunity. Forget getting a miraculous, have her team up with Lila. It makes sense. In my Fan fic (which I need to figure out how to publish as a cohesive storyline), Chloe tries to be a more self-made hero with her own team and one day, who does she fight? Fucking Sabrina in whatever villain mode she is in. That would be a full circle moment . Chloe really sees how she treated Sabrina and has to take the brutal smashing from Sabrina because of this. She knows she can’t redeem herself, but at this point of my storyline, she tries to. Miraculous, wasted opportunity.
And instead we saw Chloe become a puppet for Lila and Grabiel, and in the end she is the one who suffers the worst punishment while others like Felix have a abrupt and weak redemption arc.

Honestly I was fine with this episode, it was okay but definitely felt like it could’ve been a 2 parter or at least 2 episodes with linked stories. The 1 thing that stops it from being good to me is the fact that it really shows and throws in your face the power disparity between Ladybug and Chat Noir. These two are meant to be equals, partners, Yin & Yang but every time Chat Noir has a fight by himself he gets thrashed and has to wait for Ladybug to save the day, heck later on when Ladybug needs Alya to take her place for a bit she beats Chat Noir easily despite being far less experienced than him, it’s just really sad.

Ok. Make chloe a villain permanently. Whatever. But give her some depth. Don’t make her a caricature. I just saw the ballad of songbirds and snakes film. And guess what. I still hate snow. I still hate snow. But it gave him some depth and how he commercialized the games. How he raised in the ranks. You are seeing his talent and skill and even though we hate it. You can give depth and nuance to a character and still only see them as a villain. Because that is what humanity is. They should do this with Chloe. Every time I see her fight in her akumatized form, everything she practiced comes out. She uses strategy. Her moves are almost perfection. I loved her in the soccer episode. Its so annoying... They never establish the limits of the moth miraculous, and we've seen akumatized villains use the same abilities as a miraculous before. Why can't Hawk Moth just akumatize himself and give himself the ability to teleport the miraculous to himself? There's no instance in the show that implies he _wouldn't_ be able to do this, so for all we know he can and he's just too stupid to try it.
Especially bc if the akuma gives powers based on the reason a person feels upset, it would absolutely work. Since he's constantly pissed he can't get the miraculous
The moth miraculous limits to the person's desires/goals/problems that fits their villainous theme. Hawk Moth can't create villains whenever he wants. It will only base on the person's negative emotions. He can't control what powers he can give and what weakness they have. Gabriel Agreste is only pissed whenever he's in his Hawk Moth form. When he's not a villain and just a father to Adrien, he only lies in dormant, trying to wait for another victim.
I think the the reason why hawkmoth gives the villains "bad powers" because hes not the one choosing the powers it just gives it to them and it's based on their personality
It's not about their personalities, but their desires/goals/problems. Sabrina was akumatized into Vanisher because she was hurt that Chloe regarded her as a person who doesn't exist anymore. Chloe was akumatized into Anti-bug, because she now hates and despise Ladybug after she was called a liar in the episode. People's desires are the limitations of Hawk Moth's power. The only thing that changed in Season 5 when he got the miraculouses, is that he can manipulate his villains using the miraculous to use them as another source of power. It could be an illusion, teleportation, anything, while maintaining their real power as villains.
This is actually one of my favorite episodes in Season 1. Plus, Chloé in this episode was tolerable and gotten some character development at in the end. In fact, I felt like this was the episode that kinda started her short-lived redemption arc. Also, I did like the ending where Ladybug and Catnoir look at each other and show the audiences that they're a team. Season 1 was very enjoyable and had some good character moments, in my opinion.
The fact that Chat Noir still had his finishing move available even Chloe had him tied up on the pole makes me think that he was defeated because he was pulling his punches for whatever reason. Maybe because he and Chloe are friends, and maybe Antibug did something stupid that made Adrien think he could somehow reach her despite the akuma. At least, that's what I'm going to go with.

I just saw someone online defending Thomas astruc here it is for you all to read before you start I hope this is some kind of joke. So it’s come to my attention that not only a new special (quite a few actually) are In the works but also a game plan to build a company around producing miraculous content. And while this is a big win for the franchise and the people who watch the show, I’m gonna give it to you straight, we as a fandom don’t deserve it. Let me explain. First a disclaimer: I’m not saying all of the fandom is horrible, I’ve actually known some good and genuine people who ACTUALLY LIKE the show or even if they don’t love it as much as others they AT LEAST respect what it wants to be. There’s some good people in the fandom and I want to point this out because the rest of this rant is basically an intervention towards the opposite end (I’m not pointing fingers but they know who they are). Now as a huge fan of the show and one of its biggest supporters, why do I say that we don’t deserve something like this especially when I and many others aren’t associated with the toxic side of the fandom? Well once upon a time there was an angry mob who constantly knocks on the creator and the crew’s door to tear them down. The end. The people who worked hard to give us good quality content don’t owe us anything especially after actions like this and I’m tired of not only that but watching a good show getting dragged down by its flaws without acknowledging the good it produces. This is like the most bitter I’ve ever ranted but it’s not out of spite, I just believe that this whole tirade has gone on long enough and it should be pointed out more. I want a villain that actually copies Ladybug's powers. Not the kind where they get a big ass sword, Ladybug herself never gets that' I want her to face a villain who gets random objects, just like her, and figures out how to use them, just like her. I honestly don't blame Marinette for not trusting Chloe as Chloe was lying about what actually happened, had no shame about her behavior, was more worried about Ladybug liking her and getting her attention, and didn't listen and take Ladybug's warning seriously and getting in the way which almost ruined everything. Let's not forget Marinette and Chloe's history, which adds more fuel to why Marinette isn't going trust Chloe. However, it makes sense in this episode that Marinette learns not to let her bias and history with Chloe get in the way during her hero work, which is the case here. I liked the episode, but I wish they had done something different with Sabrina's Vanisher design, as it could have been more exciting. They went with just the regular outfit Sabrina always wears in the show but just invisible, boring.

Basically it brings to life ones inner demon (akumatized) or inner angel (kamikotized). Sure, the wielder of the miraculous bringing the inner demon/inner angel to life knows what the power(s) is/are; but does not actively select them for the chosen. No being can be all-powerful; all things have limitations; so it means all beings will have an Achilles Heel; a bane; including the akumatized. Similar to the Bloody Verses for the 12 Kings of Sharakai.

I'm pretty sure that butler was playing "mustache man" willingly. There is once a season episode showing him trying to be a good influence on Chloe and, honestly, being more of a father figure than her actual father. Then, of course, "Miracle Queen" happened, Chloe was declared irredeemable and he retroactively became another of her "victims".
He was truly an unsung hero in all of this.

Ok. I am still on the redemption arc kick in my fan fiction.
Seeing Sabrina in revenge mode and later as miraculer is wasted opportunity. Forget getting a miraculous, have her team up with Lila. It makes sense.
In my Fan fic (which I need to figure out how to publish as a cohesive storyline), Chloe tries to be a more self-made hero with her own team and one day, who does she fight? Fucking Sabrina in whatever villain mode she is in.
That would be a full circle moment . Chloe really sees how she treated Sabrina and has to take the brutal smashing from Sabrina because of this. She knows she can’t redeem herself, but at this point of my storyline, she tries to.
Miraculous, wasted opportunity.
And instead we saw Chloe become a puppet for Lila and Grabiel, and in the end she is the one who suffers the worst punishment while others like Felix have a abrupt and weak redemption arc.

Honestly I was fine with this episode, it was okay but definitely felt like it could’ve been a 2 parter or at least 2 episodes with linked stories. The 1 thing that stops it from being good to me is the fact that it really shows and throws in your face the power disparity between Ladybug and Chat Noir. These two are meant to be equals, partners, Yin & Yang but every time Chat Noir has a fight by himself he gets thrashed and has to wait for Ladybug to save the day, heck later on when Ladybug needs Alya to take her place for a bit she beats Chat Noir easily despite being far less experienced than him, it’s just really sad.
Really sad but I guess Cat Noir wasn't training to make himself stronger when he isn't constantly fighting a villain of the week

I just saw the ballad of songbirds and snakes film. And guess what. I still hate snow. I still hate snow. But it gave him some depth and how he commercialized the games. How he raised in the ranks. You are seeing his talent and skill and even though we hate it. You can give depth and nuance to a character and still only see them as a villain. Because that is what humanity is.
They should do this with Chloe. Every time I see her fight in her akumatized form, everything she practiced comes out. She uses strategy. Her moves are almost perfection.

Astruc thinks that presenting every victory and accomplishment on a silver platter to a female is somehow a requisite to writing a series like this. The only man allowed to win was Felix: a terrorist. Apparently the only competent man is an evil man; good men apparently are to be relegated to being Ron Stoppable-expies. To be fair, Adrien was the one to never lose resolve in the Season 4 finale; despite being one of only two heroes left standing he did not falter, lose faith, or panic. Ladybug did, but not Cat Noir.

Its so annoying... They never establish the limits of the moth miraculous, and we've seen akumatized villains use the same abilities as a miraculous before. Why can't Hawk Moth just akumatize himself and give himself the ability to teleport the miraculous to himself? There's no instance in the show that implies he _wouldn't_ be able to do this, so for all we know he can and he's just too stupid to try it.

The moth miraculous limits to the person's desires/goals/problems that fits their villainous theme. Hawk Moth can't create villains whenever he wants. It will only base on the person's negative emotions. He can't control what powers he can give and what weakness they have. Gabriel Agreste is only pissed whenever he's in his Hawk Moth form. When he's not a villain and just a father to Adrien, he only lies in dormant, trying to wait for another victim.
I think the the reason why hawkmoth gives the villains "bad powers" because hes not the one choosing the powers it just gives it to them and it's based on their personality
It's not about their personalities, but their desires/goals/problems. Sabrina was akumatized into Vanisher because she was hurt that Chloe regarded her as a person who doesn't exist anymore. Chloe was akumatized into Anti-bug, because she now hates and despise Ladybug after she was called a liar in the episode. People's desires are the limitations of Hawk Moth's power. The only thing that changed in Season 5 when he got the miraculouses, is that he can manipulate his villains using the miraculous to use them as another source of power. It could be an illusion, teleportation, anything, while maintaining their real power as villains.

This is actually one of my favorite episodes in Season 1. Plus, Chloé in this episode was tolerable and gotten some character development at in the end. In fact, I felt like this was the episode that kinda started her short-lived redemption arc. Also, I did like the ending where Ladybug and Catnoir look at each other and show the audiences that they're a team. Season 1 was very enjoyable and had some good character moments, in my opinion.

The fact that Chat Noir still had his finishing move available even Chloe had him tied up on the pole makes me think that he was defeated because he was pulling his punches for whatever reason. Maybe because he and Chloe are friends, and maybe Antibug did something stupid that made Adrien think he could somehow reach her despite the akuma. At least, that's what I'm going to go with.

So it’s come to my attention that not only a new special (quite a few actually) are In the works but also a game plan to build a company around producing miraculous content. And while this is a big win for the franchise and the people who watch the show, I’m gonna give it to you straight, we as a fandom don’t deserve it. Let me explain.
First a disclaimer: I’m not saying all of the fandom is horrible, I’ve actually known some good and genuine people who ACTUALLY LIKE the show or even if they don’t love it as much as others they AT LEAST respect what it wants to be. There’s some good people in the fandom and I want to point this out because the rest of this rant is basically an intervention towards the opposite end (I’m not pointing fingers but they know who they are).
Now as a huge fan of the show and one of its biggest supporters, why do I say that we don’t deserve something like this especially when I and many others aren’t associated with the toxic side of the fandom? Well once upon a time there was an angry mob who constantly knocks on the creator and the crew’s door to tear them down. The end.
In all seriousness, yeah after the constant negativity and harassment on social media I’m honestly surprised Thomas and his team still want to expand like this especially after the hell you guys put them through (again not pointing fingers but you know who you are.). “But this show’s not good” “they’re wasting potential “ “he ruined Chloe’s-“ Shut up . Look if you don’t like the show, okay valid. If you used to like it but you thought it fell off in later seasons okay valid. If you’re regurgitating points from the amount of UA-cam videos hating on this series. Then why are you here? And honestly I seriously need to know if there’s actually some UA-camrs who actually have some positive thoughts on the series or even still respect it for what it is even if it has flaws because I feel like 90% of the videos I come across are either this week on what’s wrong with miraculous or trying to fix something that isn’t broken. Are the characters and story perfect? No. Does it have more good things than people led on? Yes. Are the people behind the show perfect human beings? Also no. Where was I going with this? I had a point.
Oh right. Basically what I’m saying is, the same people y’all love to clown on because they don’t give you everything you want not only produce some of the best episodes in the series including the specials to the point where y’all want spin-offs based on one of them. But are still slaving away in the studio working their butts off to try to give our ungrateful behinds quality content. Don’t be acting like it’s water under the bridge after all that. It’s kinda that one parent(s) who still reward their child despite that they’ve been mostly a bad seed. Again I’m not trying to convince that they’re perfect human beings who can’t do wrong but firstly some of y’all really gotta stop taking some of the things he says seriously . Have you guys not heard of trolling with the audience or messing around especially since he knows that saying certain things would rile you up. Is it right? No. But like I said in my last post, I’m not gonna have sympathy for someone who feels butt hurt because someone fought back or blocked them after harassing them for who knows how long. Let’s put this into perspective here. If you were producing a show, things are stressful but good in the business despite also working with studio mandates and limitations but you make a choice to do something in your story that made a large portion upset and starts taking those angers and frustrations to your social accounts and it’s been happening for months maybe years and people start mocking you and your name despite you working your butt of to give them content you help create only to be treated like you’re the worst and despite the popularity people treat it like it’s the worst thing in the world to the point where you’re nothing but a joke to them. Wouldn’t you feel a bit bitter, fight back or even block the haters? Maybe not but I probably would’ve.
The people who worked hard to give us good quality content don’t owe us anything especially after actions like this and I’m tired of not only that but watching a good show getting dragged down by its flaws without acknowledging the good it produces. This is like the most bitter I’ve ever ranted but it’s not out of spite, I just believe that this whole tirade has gone on long enough and it should be pointed out more. Again if you don’t like what they do in the show, fine go watch something else that’ll please your wants and desires no one is forcing you to stay but don’t constantly blame the show or the crew for not giving you what you want and instead appreciate the actual good things it gives you, the sooner we understand that the sooner we can move on as a functioning society because I want to go into this new era of the franchise with a bit more of a positive outlook than what we gotten in the last few years.
Again I’m excited for whatever they have in store for us with the new seasons, specials and potential spinoffs from the specials and while I still believe after all this trouble we don’t really deserve this for what’s to come, I do hope that after we get some good bangers I’m expecting some apology letters.

I want a villain that actually copies Ladybug's powers. Not the kind where they get a big ass sword, Ladybug herself never gets that' I want her to face a villain who gets random objects, just like her, and figures out how to use them, just like her. THAT is what she'd meet her match against. Probably would have to be a sentimonster with good self-awareness, like Sentibug, because I'm not sure how easily you're going to find a person who's as good at using random objects as Marinette. I'm sure you could find one, though.
Now I know it would be sacrilegious in this day and age but maybe around season 4 you could have an antibug two with that gimmick, with the plot focusing on Chloe’s remaining feelings of resentment with it clarifying what who true goals with Queen Bee were. Cause the season 3 finale did that rather poorly.
