Focus playing live a fantastic and unusual version of Hocus Pocus, and Jan Akkerman playing a terrific shredding solo in 1973. The hostess is Gladys Knight
I agree, the second solo is AMAZING...I saw it hundreds of times and each one amazes me like the first time...what an incredible guitar player; he was playing fast picking, arpeggios; etc...in 1973!!
I know...I know...but a friend gave me this video knowing about my admiration to Thijs van Leer and Jan Akkerman, so, after seeing it one more time, I couldn't resist the temptation, because the solo is INCREDIBLE!!!! So..I uploaded the video on my site just to have the opportunity to interchange some comments about it with my friends.

Ok cool
I have the original 22 DVD boxed set of the Midnight Special series that this came from. Amazing stuff and this for me is the main highligh !
Sick
I'm pretty sure Deep Purple was also playing arpeggio's in/before 1973. Akkerman is a fantastic player nonetheless and Focus is an amazing band.
I'm sorry for the 'arpeggio's'. I shouldn't let my Dutch grammar interfere with my talking on the worldwide web.
Please check 1:53 to 2:08
Why post this ?
You must know that its already on here several times with the main one having over 3 million views !!!
Just what is the point?
