    These little activation buttons and small display icons means you have to always be right next to the unit. You can't place it under the desk and have a wired on/off switch

    I like the vitoman especially the jump start feature. The downside is the solar charging. The unit takes 300 watts of solar but if you expand it the battery doesn't. Kinda useless unless you were really looking for a wall charger battery unit. They need to address that I buy solar to use solar not my wall.

    Another down to earth great review. Looking at purchasing one of these battery generators and your reviews are very helpful. So far I’m leaning towards the Blueddie 180. Didn’t really care for how this one operates and handles load.

    Another fantastic review. I bought the Jump 1000 after seeing your review, and later bought two Jump 600x's. Very impressive power stations. Even the little Jump 600x can easily run a full sized chest freezer , something other similar priced or more expensive products, such as the Bluetti eb55 and ecoflow river 2 can't do.

    I Love my Vtoman 1000 which I bought after educating myself on Lithium ion and Lithium iron, etc. You and your site was the reason I happily purchased our Vtoman. (With an amazing discount code) BTW we went on a 10,000 mile 80 day Western camping roadtrip staying in National Parks, BLM, Rest Areas, and Walmart RV resorts 😂 and in conjunction with our Honda generator it was a wonderful trip! Thank you so very much. If I had a complaint it is the very short jumper cable. The unit must be rested in the engine compartment to reach the battery. Not my favorite but doable.

    Boy I would give this unit a thumbs down 👎 they need to go back to the drawing board.
    You are very diplomatic with your reviews, it seems like they are cutting corners to keep the
    price competitive. But don’t worry you still get a big thumbs up 👍

    At least they brought back the hours on the display, the 1500 flash doesn't have it. Also the flash 1500 has problems with solar charging, I have to shut it off and turn it back on so it starts solar charging it's annoying

    I appreciate or reviews and all the extra you put in to them,
    The Solar test is something i do look for, I have had the Jump 1800, I put a 12 volt DC timer in between the solar panels and the Jump 1800 to start up after the sun is up, 8:00 am or so, and that solved the charging problem, and the Jump 1800 was great after that, I now have the Flash Speed 1500 and automatic solar charging is an issue, So now i am Looking very hard for a 30 volt DC timer to do the same thing, or some other method, wish me luck , keep up the GREAT work, it is appreciated👍

      That sounds a good solution, hopefully someone can do a beginner's guide video on how to do this...

      I have the previous model jump 1000 and same problem, won't automatically start charging in the morning, have to unplug and let the machine turn off and then plug the solar back in,I like off grid so I won't buy another one that doesn't automatically start charging without my input, do you think that timer would work on my jump 1000 ?

    • @johnobody

      Also could you point me in the right direction with this timer and how to set it up as I'm a novice with this stuff, any help would be massively appreciated 👍

      @@johnobody , For the Jump 1800 i got a "12 Volt DC Timer Switch" Part number TM630A, from amazon, got a MC4 to DC5521 adapter, got 2 DC 5521 wire adapters, the DC 5521 plug on one end and open wire on the other end, crimped ferule connectors on the open ends to be plugged into the Timer Switch, set the on tme to about 8 am and the off time to about 6 pm for everyday of the week,
      found videos on how to make the wire connectors and found videos on setting up Dc timer switch, wiring and setting the times,
      For the Flash Speed 1500, i did the same thing except i am using 24 Volt timer switch,
      I am still looking for one that can handle 30 volts for it, but so far so good,
      Hope that helps a little anyway

    Thank you for your videos of which I liked and subscribed.
    Question. As per your review, I just purchased the Rophie 200 watt solar panels for the hopes of using the VTOMAN Flash 1000 to power a ICECO VL45 camping refrigerator. However your review leaves me pondering if this is a good choice. Is it? Other than recharging phones, or lights, the sole purpose of the VTOMAN Flash 1000 would be almost soley for the ICECO VL45 on eco mode. What are your thoughts and suggestions? I was looking at the VTOMAN Flash 1500 but cost is an issue. Again, as per your experience and for more knowledge is this than I could ever have, I would take your suggestions with utmost authority. Thank you for your time in responding.

    The only two compelling reasons to buy this product, over something like a Pecron of the same size, would be the jump-start feature and the competitive price. If you are the type to not "settle" on feature set, this isn't the right product for you. (I'd rather have a better portable power station and a dedicated jump-start box, for example.)

    • @johnmal5975
      @johnmal5975 2 місяці тому +1

      Exactly that's why I bought my pecrons. If you expand this thing it will take you a week to charge it with solar. It wouldn't be a week but its ridiculous none the less.

      @@SlackersIndustry I get it but it doesn't matter price per watt hour is 49 cents pecron compared to 60 cents for the vitoman. I like the vitoman they just need to address that solar charging its way to low if you add a battery. I would buy one but not until they address that because its just a wall charger station at this point.

    Another great video. With their in-house 220w panel, maybe each solar panel is 55w x4, maybe has some sort of bypass diode? And it doesn't wake up when the other panel starts generating power so it somehow gets stuck until you unplug and re-plug it in? Could you test it with 1 normal 200-300w panel and see if it behaves the same? Maybe it's their panel?

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  2 місяці тому +2

      I'm pretty sure it's their firmware and charge controller, not that panel, actually. VTOMAN told me they're continuing to optimize firmware on it. Either way, not a huge deal since most people will just plug in the solar panel when the sun comes up.

    Can you please check to see if this has the same software error that the flashspeed 1500 has?
    When you plug in the expansion battery and have it in ups mode, once the expansion is charged, it turns itself off after 45 min or so...
    Basically it makes the ups function unusable.
    Everything works as normal with proper ups function if you unplug the expansion

      I had actually asked VTOMAN about this before I started work on the video...and then forgot to address it. :-/ But here's the response I got from them on this FS1500 issue:
      "We have already identified this issue and Our engineering team are currently working on optimizing and adjusting the performance of the FS1500 to address this concern. we aim to provide a solution as soon as possible. Regarding the FS1000, based on our initial testing, it appears that this particular issue is not present in that model. However, we will conduct further testing to confirm this and ensure that the FS1000 operates as intended. Once the updated version of the FS1500 is available with the performance issue resolved, users experiencing this problem will be able to apply for a replacement unit."

      Also, very nice to hear that when they find a solution current owners will be able to get it corrected.
      I think the identifying was mine LOL... I worked with them to try to resolve it but ended up returning the extra battery as it wasn't possible to correct (at that time)
      Keep up the great videos

    What is the voltage coming out on that external battery port? I would like to see someone do a DIY external battery for this. The jack looks like a EC2/EC3 so there is no communication pins like a Bluetti /eccoflow. If the voltage is 25.6V it should work with a 24V Lifepo4 battery.

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  2 місяці тому

      Interesting question! I just grabbed my multi-meter and it's reading 26.4V, so yeah, probably fine with a 24V LFP battery. However, I don't think these are exactly EC2/3 connectors since they are rounded on top/bottom and the flat side is in the middle.

      @@grindychum Have a look at the cable...it does look like there's a single extra comms pin of some kind between the 2 +/- pins: vtoman.com/collections/accessory/products/vtoman-cp3500-cable-for-vtoman-extra-battery

    • @grindychum
      @grindychum 2 місяці тому

      @ReeWrayOutdoors dam. I'm thinking those would be used for communication when charging from main unit to external battery. But it "should" be able to discharge from a external lifepo4 into the main unit, just no charging. Saw a video a while back someone doing this with a pecron. Not sure how accurate the main units SOC meter would be while doing this.
