Only ones having fun this year are the ones that are too young or didn't get to experience the highs of past MLB the Shows. It was a step in the wrong direction last year, and now we're just about at rock bottom. I've never seen an MLB the Show dead a month before the All Star break until this year...

BUT I am coming from 2K where microtransactions are a lot worse than what I've gotten out of SDS so far. If this game used to be as great as you guys make it out to be, I hope they turn it around as well
Your feedback is legit. I work a full time job and try to play consistently but its very hard to keep up with getting good players. When i do get them, theyre already outdated. Wish you could use more other series players in new sessons.
Played the game religiously from 19-22, well over 1000 hours in each game, last year started to sour things for me and now after Season 1 I've completely stopped playing. The fun is totally gone, it's just a ridiculous and mindless grind for cards that aren't even relevant by the time you get them now. When playing a video game becomes a chore something with it is deeply broken. It sucks because MLBTS in its heyday was amazing.
Pitcher/hitter captains should be available for purchase for like 10k. Would be nice to try some different builds but can't with the limited captain cards out now.
I couldn't agree more. The Show could not have screwed themselves more. There is nothing to motivate you to grind OR SPEND MONEY. Whoever thought this was a good idea should go back to their old job at the convenience store.

I knew the year was done for me for MLB when the second season came out and they had only dropped the Boss Xp requirement to 900,000. I’m not gonna restart every season with lower cards and grind for cards that I won’t even get to play with. Most games are making the same mistakes. Player engagement is killing the fun of these games. Make the games fun and worthwhile if they want more people to stay involved in their games. I just can’t stand the seasonal resets.
There is zero point in even playing this game unless it's a double XP weekend. Even then, it's not worth it due to the S2 reset and having to use all these shitty cards. But at least you earn some kind of XP when it's double. When it's not, forget it. I've played like 30 minutes of this trash this entire week.

Players were 95-97 overall (If I remember correctly, I know DeGrom was 97 but most were 95-96) and then they had 99 HRD Vladdy and some others like Pete Alonso that were amazing cards. There was no reason to move to a season/sets model. The slow power creep was fine. You can't reset everyone's progress in June for a yearly sports game. It just doesn't work.

I agree with most of it this is my second year at this I liked that I could use last season cards think I had Mickey Mantle the whole year long as wildcard if your going ti reset then do it progressive say season 2 start at 94-96 season 3 97-98 last season all 99 and play any card you want all year round tge starting over is bullshit even madden don't do that and also averages 4 programs a week lucky if we get 1
The best way to make a game fun and interesting is to make all the playable characters OP and indestructable with 0% chance of every failing at anything. Those are the beat and most fun games.
I don't think you're understanding my point. My point is that it's unfair and unfun for the best cards to be stuck in packs, encouraging you to spend real world money on the game

But at least Borderlands is a single player or co op game with difficulty settings, whereas MLB is a competitive online game, which introduces the idea that the game is pay-to-win. When all of the cards are locked behind a paywall, that's exactly what you call it, pay-to-win. Why defend a game that doesn't care how much fun you have unless you pay them extra on top of the price of the game?
SDS is an amateur operation because they promoted all the guys that made "The Show" a must play franchise and replaced them with low effort, dispassionate, non baseball fans. Sony doesnt hire on merit anymore. They have a political agenda and they prioritize hiring by political identity. They spent time and resources putting chicks in the game but couldnt find the time to plan decent content for players. That is Playstations idea of being activists...and thats what they care about. The SDS content drop videos went from hardcore baseball fans getting us hyped over big content drops to a sad, amateur, casual, low energy, checkers table with a couple people who dont seem to really want to be there. Its symbolic of Playstations ridiculous corporate culture of political activism over hiring people who are good at making games. The Show was going to suffer for these choices -- and thats where we are. Nothing will improve until the players are the priority again. SDS will just be commanded to sell more packs to make up the lost revenue as we walk away. Its a death spiral created by terrible leadership & a lack of accountability. The content this year is an embarrassment. Just wait until NCAA football launches -- The Show will be dead. -- It didnt have to be that way -- but i just dont think SDS or their bosses at Playstation, care.

Baseball fans who want a baseball game aren't going to jump ship to a game about a completely different sport. Not to mention, I think people are forgetting NCAA is made by EA. I don't hate the game. I love the game. That's why I want it to be better. Why settle for the game being okay when it could be improved? Most people don't have the time to keep up with the seasons model and stay competitive, and having the cards that you worked hard for become useless in a couple months feels terrible
You're missing the point. Power creep is the good thing. The problem is the pay to win nature of the packs, and all of your work being reset at the end of the season

This is my first year doing DD, im NMS. I have finished live series and still always have around 200k stubs to get any cards that look fun. Fair enough to you, this content model is not what you are probably used to. I think they need to add a legacy style rank mode where it allows all season on top of what is currently there.
