    Thanks Brad, for the tutorial!! Just bought a "non running" x300 with 225 hours for a hundred bucks. Found the fuel pump had failed, filling crankcase with gas. Drained the case, changed oil filter, put on a new fuel pump (also added a fuel shutoff before pump). Tractor looks new, and runs great.

    I just had the husband let me video him with this exact lawn mower and the newest zero turn John Deere. Your video vs the 6 short ones to share with my daughter through message, yours covers more. Headlights. How to push it. I have used older models when they were new but for some reason I just act like I never used any at all. He is looking forward to my proving the videos I made of him and yours that he sent me the link will actually have me able to ride the lawn mower out of the warehouse. I suspect I can. And maybe I can wait on testing pushing the lawn mower and turning on the headlights until then. It’s one of those things I feel I need to know just in case. Now if only he actually could learn to handle the computer stuff and device but I think he has reached his limit, and guess he will have to bother our daughter to bail him out. I have tried to make such lessons stick with him. Maybe finally his videos and yours I will actually let it sink in using the lawn mower.

    Very kool. Great, concise and informative especially since I just bought a used 2013 X300 with no manual and an owner who really just bought it and never used it! Thanks very much for the valuable info. Unfortunately my mower belt broke after only 45 min of use on my lawn and i was worried that it wasnt automatically cutting in reverse, too! Additionally he told the brake and deck lever pedals opposite of what they really are! Sheesh. Thanks for alleviating some worries. Now off to the dealer to get a new mower deck belt installed. I was amazed at how smooth this thing rode, how quickly and easily it turned and how it conquered uphill turns that my L120 couldnt handle.

    I want to thank you for the great video! Very informative. I have been handed down a 2006 John Deere X340 with 54 inch deck just this past weekend. I do have an issue that hopefully you may know the fix to. When I engaged the mower deck yesterday, the forward pedal stuck in the down position. Do you know a solution to fix? I appreciate it, thank you!

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  Рік тому +1

      It sounds like the cruise control (if it has it?) may have went on. If it happens again and you touch the brake. It should go off immediately after pushing brake pedal. I Haven’t come across the issue your having on any of the xseries but I do not see many of the 340’s. How many hours are on it? I would also see if there is any grass that has accumulated through time in the rear where all linkage is and check for debris where the pedal linkage is.

    • @bassplayinsam
      @bassplayinsam Рік тому

      Thank you for such a quick reply! The mower does have cruise control and has a total amount of 317 hours run time. I will try using the brake pedal and report back if I need more help. Thanks again!

    Wonderful video! I'm inheriting mowing responsibilities from an elderly father-in-law. He has the X300, your video was a godsend! He says grease needs to be added prior to every mow to the undercarriage? Is this right? If so how?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  4 місяці тому

      How much grass do you cut per time out? Or should I ask, how long does it take to cut the grass. You should only need to grease the mower deck once a year depending on how many acres you cut? Go to my website and send your contact info. Let me know when a good time to contact you is and I’ll try and give you a call. I will also need a picture of the mower deck.

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  2 роки тому +1

      I know you said the battery is new but I would suggest confirming it has twelve volts with a meter but even better is to load test it. It sounds like a bad fuse do again. Either try and test the fuse or install a new one. Make sure your batteries connections are clean and tightened properly. Check to make sure all wiring in the harness is connected. Make sure your emergency brake is on, the PTO is off. Do all the simple things first.

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  2 роки тому

      Have you removed the rear tires and now it does not go? If yes, you have pushed a square key out of place, if no. First make sure you do not have the rod pulled out in the back near the hitch. Make sure it’s pushed in. Make sure your brake is off when trying to move. Check the transmission drive belt to make sure it is running correctly from front of engine pulley to rear of transmission pulley. * you may need to remove the mower deck to see up under where the transmission belt runs. If the belt is running correctly you may have a bad transmission. Are there major hills on the property or have you towed heavily?
