I am so glad that you left your mistake in the video. Inspires us all to go for it and play around no matter what. Recovery is possible. Thank you so much for all of your inspiration.
How Fun!!! How Beautiful!!! Love the colors, integrated with other mediums, and techniques. Just gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. I love watching your videos. I also have a list of your paints, and additional mediums which I will purchase soon. 😘💖🎨
So ridiculously beautiful! 💗 Only thing is because I’m in CA, Santa Cruz mountains colors like that remind me of flames. I’m very triggered because it’s an extremely dry year. I washed in a paint background to draw landscape on in my sketchbook with yellow burnt Sienna and gray. It’s really pretty but taking a second look later I thought 😲 resembles fire in the brush and smoke 😧. Using anxiety to prepare. Cleaning up property is good in any year and every year.
1. Please list the white paint you used, so I can try and get it here. If I can't, I may try my acrylic white paint, with a dash of water to make it a bit runny. 2. Don't have the Ph Martin product either. Will try some DS sepia or Burnt In her.
I'm a new subscriber and I'm very inspired by your work! Thank you for posting these great videos. They are very helpful, and your paintings are just wonderful!
I really enjoyed this demonstration! I hadn’t thought to use all the different mediums! I have them all! Do you seal it with something before framing? Thanks so much!
@@JeanLurssen Hi Jean, thank you for your speedy response. I don't have experience with it as I am fairly new to watercolour/art. I saw someone mention it and I wondered if it was something that was better/worse than granulation medium.
Thank you very much for the excellent demonstration! I love everything you do! Do you use D. Smith (indigo for the Primatek?) for watercolour and Daler Rowney for ink?
I dream of being able to afford Daniel Smith Watercolours especially the Primatek ones, can you recommend a handful of colours I could start with because I really want to get in to painting again. When I first started years ago and had lessons I was told to just have 3 colours and mix every colour I needed but all I got was flat muddy colours so I gave up, I still have a few paints but they've gone really dry, your videos have made me want to start afresh
It's hard to recommend colors because everyone has different tastes. If you purchase a primary yellow, red and blue you should be able to mix many colors. If you go to Daniel Smith's web site and find three of those colors that are primary and not mixed with other colors your should not get mud.
Hi Jean, can you tell me the brand name of the spray bottle you are using? I am having a hard time finding one that I can adjust to get those nice little droplets.
It's an old Method product which, once empty, I filled with water. Most spray bottle you buy have an adjustable nozzle. Have you tried adjusting the nozzles?
Dear Jean ma'am (with respect)! I believe that the link to "your favorite supplies" @ Amazon is showing an error. It definitely would help to know your favorite supplies via amazon!

@@moinashiv7631 Thanks for the reminder. I added a link to the bleed proof white.
Spectacular, as always! What is the difference in splattering, using the palette knife versus the brush?

Since watercolor is framed behind glass there is no need to seal it.
🙏🙏🙏
This is so Pretty Jean. We miss you :)
Beautiful abstract, so different from your usual style. I love it. Have you tried Brusho?
My attempt to use Brusho has had a very poor result.
Not a fan of brusho. But maybe I need to try it again.
@@JeanLurssen
I don’t like but I bought it need to find a way to use it, very messy!
Hi Jean, Have you ever tried just using a thick mix of salt water as a granulation medium?
No I have not. Will definitely try it since you obviously have experience with it.

Thank you Shaly for letting me know. I have fixed the link.
I was like”No Jean. Stop and let it dry!” 🙀 Because I’ve ruined so many things by not letting it dry between layers or techniques.
How did you get your paper to stay flat while you were painting?
I must have used 300lb watercolor paper Cathy.
what is the granulating medium you used please?
If you click on show more you will see my lit of materials and there is a link to where you can purchase the granulation medium by Winsor & Newton.
