Damn bro. From the etching the DME to the air tag... you are absolutely ready! Vehicle Virgins had a G87 on there recently that was in the mid 700s HP. Check it out.
I think your car looks awesome! I seem to be one of the few people that like how the new M2 looks. I even think it makes the last M2 look dated. I hope everything works out for you. If it was my brand new car I wouldn't have the balls to do the same, but I certainly would want to! I'm thinking about 550HP on 91. Cant wait to see it at over 700HP!
I totally understand what you mean there. It’s definitely not something everyone would or should do. I guess part of my reasoning is because I’m the first one that’s not a shop to really document doing this on the M2. I’m definitely super excited to see how it goes once we get it back and hit the track!
Just done all this with my G87 M2. Loving the extra power. My dyno results from a custom remap by BR Performance were 640 HP and 818 Nm. Wild! Just making absolutely sure - the two settings you recommended we turn off (one on the car via Data Privacy and the other on the phone App) are all that's required to prevent a software update, right?
Hey man thanks for the video really helped me out with preparing to send out the dme on my g82, but i put an apple airtag on it same as you and for the past week an a half my dme has been sitting in what looks like a construction site in sompasaarenlaituri considering today marks 2 weeks was wondering what you saw when you looked at your airtag thanks man
Thanks for posting these vids for us younger guys without dads who would have no idea Wtf we’re doing😅but still willing to try. Hopefully I can secure me one of these and have the chance to mod my first car.
Going to be a beast, now after you hook up the battery, will you have to go back in to turn those updates off? What's the likelihood of you plugging everything back in and bmw pushing an update because of the battery being disconnected?
Unfortunately not because the ECU isn’t the only computer on the car that is monitoring these things. Basically they can tell you’re running higher boost levels even if you clone the DME.
bootmod allows you to flash from your computer at home tho correct? (at least it did for my f80s) theoretically could flash back to stock before bringing into service?
@@tuxon_speed you think they would know??? didn't do it with my last cars that I flashed but maybe I just got lucky doing that with my R8 and M3CS or maybe bc the newer ECUs are more advanced as those cars were 2018s.
@@tuxon_speed ahh damn. funs over I guess... still probably worth it tho as I still plan on doing it to my m2. need at least 600 hp to feel alive nowadays... good luck/have fun with your mods!

Yep I did watch that! I think that was the house of power shop car, right?

Yes that’s correct. Make sure to turn those off so the car doesn’t auto update
@@tuxon_speed Excellent, all done then. Thank you for this video!

Absolutely man! Happy to help and it’s good to hear that some people get value from them!
G87 boys 🤞🏾
Hell yeah! It’s time for MO POWA BABY 😎
Yes sir 🫡
Why do you have to register the car with bootmod app before pulling the ECU? Makes really no sense.

😂😂 shouldn’t that be some unlucky stuff. I’ll make sure that is still turned off right when I hook everything back up
@@tuxon_speed I would hope not😅 just something that popped into my head, like how crappy that would be
Can you just buy another ECU from BMW, ship that one and exchange back and forth as needed for service without voiding the warranty?
Unfortunately not because the ECU isn’t the only computer on the car that is monitoring these things. Basically they can tell you’re running higher boost levels even if you clone the DME.
great video!
Glad you enjoyed it

You can flash through Wi-Fi on your phone now. And sure you could flash back to stock but BMW will still know what’s up

@@js002003 yeah they know. It’s all over the forums.

What do you think our horsepower numbers will be with just the stage 1 OTS tune? Let me know!
500whp
