I'd love to see library trips!
✨I hope you venture into designing puzzles! I think your artwork would be so fun to put together. I love puzzles! The little witch sounds cute and intriguing, adding it to my never ending TBR. Thank you for sharing your plans. Have a happy reading year!
I love Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell! It's such an intimidating size, but it's definitely worth it! Also, I've never heard of cosy horror as a genre before, but it sounds absolutely perfect! Love this video, your earrings are so cute! I hope you meet all your reading goals!
Cheers to your library job🥂, the dream 🐛
Themed reading videos will be so fun, will you ever do a painting vlog again? Those were so cool
thank you!!! to be honest, I unfortunately do not think so but I will continue to show my journaling and painting in my vlogs!
The themed vlogs sound really fun!
We’d love to see lovely libraries in your country! Jonathan Strange is very worth your time!!!
My 2023 reading goals are quite similar to yours - buy less, read more of my own books (I already read a lot of library books), read what I feel like reading. I grabbed one of the novellas you recommended for my Kindle. I adored Jonathon Strange & Mr. Norrell, it's one of my all time favorite books. And after you read it you can watch the BBC mini-series production. I think they did a great job with it. I'd love to see a Library Date with your Bestie video, I hope you do one. :)
omggg I DID NOT KNOW there was a bbc mini series!!!!!!!!! that is so exciting
if you enjoy cozy horror you should really try some of John Bellairs' work! my high recommendation would be Lewis Barnavelt series (especially The house with a clock in its walls; The figure in the shadows; The letter, the witch and the ring)
I have a time travel recommendation for you! There’s a series called The Chronicles of St. Mary’s by Jodi Taylor that is a very lightweight series about history department at a university that does historical research using time travel. It’s very cozy and tea-focussed. It isn’t “high literature” but it is a good romp with fun banter. The first book is called Just One Damned Thing After Another✨📚
Love this! What about ‘dry buy January’? Your libraries sound amazing ✨
oh that is definitely a lot better than "dry book january" 😭
Little Shop of Founds Things by Paula Brackston is a great time travelling series!
Cosy horror??? Sounds so good thank you for the rec!
✨️I'd love a time travelling themed video⏳️but honestly, I'll watch anything you create for us❤
Excited to make one!
Thank you so much for making me discover Everand. I've found so many books from my want to read list, including some I was postponing as they were too expensive on Kindle. I also love that many are available both in ebook and audio format. Used your link so I hope you will get a free month.
ahhh happy to hear it 🤎
Huge yesss to time travel vlog! :D
Just bought Bookshops and Bonedust today. Really looking forward to reading it. And I love that mug you're using in your video. It's gorgeous!
same, let's hope it's as good as the first one, and thank you!
Love your videos! ✨☕️
i love the idea of a dressing & reading vlog ✨
My reading goal is to read books and listen to audiobooks.
Read whatever book you want from long books to short books to comic books. ✨🎇🎆🌟
I love your videos ❤ happy reading 2024 🎉
You are so lovely! Really enjoy hearing your book reviews! Thank you. ❤
Themed reading vlogs sound so fun!
Puzzles would be such a lovely idea!
The Bridge Kingdom series by Danielle Jensen is a great romantasy series I highly recommend!! I also really love Kushiel's Dart series by Jacqueline Carey, it's an older series but so amazing. ❤
oooooh okay im making notes
I love the sound of all your plans and just want to say how much I love your channel, so beautiful and fun! I’m the same with you regarding trying to read more from the library so really looking forward to your library ‘shopping’ videos!
ahhhh thank you for the lovely comment! happy to have you here in my lil community 💗
The Little Witch sounds good! I’ll have to find it! ✨✨
✨I'm like you; I've been intimidated by the size of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, but I'm thinking you might influence me to read it this year. Also, like you, I have read the first two Ship of Destiny books, so maybe I'll put the last on my reading list this year as well! Thanks for the inspiration!
the liveship traders series is so good highly recommend!!!
Bookshops and Bonedust Is one of the books I'm going to read too! ✨
If you want a time travel recommendation, read Before The Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. It's a top 10 best seller in the UK and an excellent read.
yessss I loved it!!! I read it a few years ago and yet have to pick up the sequel
✨ happy new year can't wait to see more of your videos in 2024 💕
ahhh happy ny, thank you 💗🎀
Such cute and fun plans, I really liked this video :) ✨
thank you for watching! do you have any reading plans for the new year?
@@leoraaileen I really want to focus on reading the books I already own (because there's way too many lmao). Like you, I also wanna try and read books I'm interested in even if they're very long! I tend to get intimidated and only read shorter books, but there's so many cool stuff out there! Good luck in all your plans :)
I love time travel books. This year I want to read more short stories. I’ve ordered Unnatural Creatures: Stories Selected by Neil Gaiman and The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter.
I always love your videos, but I love them even more when you recommend books that I have never heard of! We have such similar tastes so The Little Witch is most definitely on my tbr for the year! Now the question is do I read it right away, or save it for Halloween??? Thanks so much for another lovely video Leora, Happy New Year!!!
I always get so excited when I see that you have dowloaded a new bookish video! Your book videos are just so comfy and comforting in some way, they always calm me down. And your reading taste is interesting :D I also love the aesthetics of your videos.
yay! thank you for watching & being a part of my community 🌟
If you were going to time travel, wouldn't; you have done it already! Best wishes for 2024.
Reading time travel books sounds pretty cool. The best time travel book I've ever read is The Immortals by S.E. Lister. It's just so beautifully written.
ooooh will look that one up!
Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell was one of my FAVORITE books of 2023. Susanna Clarke is absolutely fantastic. So worth your time.
Wonderful to hear!!! Was it easy to get into?
I think it’s a slower start plot-wise but her writing so soooooo scrumptious that I was savoring it from the first page.
I am focusing on reading through my physical TBR this year, as I have a lot of books I haven't read yet (working in a bookstore with a great discount that encourages collection while also being in uni and having less free time to read has led to an impressive yet intimidating personal stash). I have created a book challenge for myself by thinking about the genres I have on hand and the themes in them and creating prompts- for example read a book set in Asia, or with a queer protagonist, or a horror book by an Indigenous author- which has just helped me think a bit more about what I already have. I created 25 prompts, and for most of them I own several titles that would suit. I'm a mood reader, so this will also help me narrow down what I want to read when I'm choosing a book (or that's the hope, anyway!)
omg I can imagine the bookstore job making it so challenging to not buy literally all the books (I feel that would happen to me). The book challenge sounds so good, that's amazing!!! Very smart way of getting around to reading certain type of things whilst still being a mood reader 💗
This year is my "Physical TBR" year. I really want to try and make a dent in it (if not finish it all), so I'm only allowed to buy 1 new book a month (or 12 books total), and the rest has to be from my physical TBR.
Love to hear about your finds on time travel books. The only one I have read so far is The Unmaking of June Farrow, and although I still don't fully get how it worked in the end, it was done in a way that I had never seen before. I found it really intriguing, especially because of the mystery that it had.
Omg I did not retain that The Unmaking of June Farrow had timetravel in it, that really bumps it up in my TBR!
✨
✨❤
❤❤
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Nornell sounds very Crowley and Aziraphale coded to me
Please explain "library subscription". Where I live, in the US, libraries are free. I can check out up to 200 items at a time. (not that I have ever done that, haha) Thanks!
libraries require a subscription in the netherlands when you're aged 18 and up! it's usually per year and costs around 30-40 euros
💚🖤
🙂
🌟📚🌟
Cosy queer forest god novella? Please tell me the name of that book. I plan to read what I want and not what is popular. Also your videos are so cosy too!
I think she means Silver in the Wood and it's sequel.
✨️ If you are looking for a book with time travel, Only A Monster has time travel based magic
ahhh yesss I loved that one, I read it in the summer of 2022!!! exactly the type of time travel magic I love in books and fast paced too
✨✨✨✨✨✨🎉🎉🎉🎉🧚♂🧚♂🧚♂
