I’m just so glad to know she had moments of happiness & that people found ways to make her feel truly noticed, cared for and listened to. Preparing food is such an act of love.
It seems Diana was happiest chatting to you in your kitchen, eating your delicious food, and who wouldn't be happy there. You knew her favourite things and probably her secret confidantes. Thanks so much for sharing. I appreciate Diana's courage more and more as I get older.
I did remember reading about crepe souffle in an article and how Princess Diana would want second helpings but was too afraid to ask for more in front of the Queen. That crepe souffle looks so good! I tried to search up a recipe but never knew what it truly looked like.
My sister and I learned to make souffle at a young age (11 & 12) my sister's name was Diane. (she passed away in accident several yrs prior to the Princess) My sister resembled Diana ( lot of people said this) I will be revisiting making souffles now. We use to make them for breakfast! Thank Darren 🙂
I'd say you had a true admiration for Princess Diana just as we all did! I sure can't blame you for admiring such a wonderful Lady/person. What a lucky man you are to have known her personally.
Great! . Nice to know that late Princess Diana liked Crêpes Soufflé so much. It's really sad to know that she's no more with us and was afraid to ask for a second helping? Let her live in our hearts 💕 for ever!!! She was not born as a Princess. Agreed. But she was and she's really a great princess - that's a fact! Plz don't despise her. Compliments to the CHEF who had the opportunity to create such exotic dessert for late Princess Diana!
Your videos are so comforting and jolly, it s not hard to imagine princess Diana chatting with you in the kitchen. Love the story of making the queen choose Diana's favourite dessert💗
I just watched that movie yesterday. And had wondered what the dessert looked like. So today I could not believe it when I saw that you posted this recipe. What a beautiful dessert, I will definitely be making it this weekend. 👏🏼👏🏼
I can see why Princess Diana liked this Dish so much 😋. Poor Princess Diana, so sad this beautiful woman's life was cut so short 😢 💔 when she was so young. She was a very loving person and a wonderful loving ❤ and fun mother to William and Harry. It's not surprising how heart broken they were and are. Thank you Darren for giving us some little snippets of the life of a beautiful woman who was loved all around the world 🌎. She may have been taken long before her time, but they cannot take away the love she gave to the world and her determination to do good in the world. As well as the love, respect and admiration that many of us still feel for Princess Diana. Always in our Hearts 💕 Princess Diana. We love you. They can't take that away from us............
In honor of the UK Mother’s Day yesterday and with the U.S. Mother’s Day approaching soon, what would you consider your favorite dish made by your mother/grandmother? Would you ever consider making it in a video?
Darren, you are so very enjoyable ! Your energy, passionate truthfulness and earnest enjoyment of what you do/create/ make (!) are so very contagious! What a lovely family you have!
Thank you for posting these delicious recipes, as a matter of fact today for lunch I made Princess Diana's favorite eggplant dish made of roasted eggplant filled sautéed onions with red peppers, cheese and goat cheese, light and dellightful.
The souffle looks wonderful, how about for those of us who are crazed chocoholics? Can you make a nice bittersweet chocolate sauce and use that instead?
That's one thing I love about this channel. There are so many cooking shows with 'restaurant' chefs, but everything on here is something I'd actually serve my family at home. It's the perfect blend of royal elegance and simplicity at the same time.
@Darren McGrady Hey Darren love the recipe and the story ! Looks like your right thumb had a nasty altercation with a knife (?) What happened ? Hope the recipe didn't request blood ! haha
Darren brother, there you go again with teasing us by cooking and baking such great looking food. I'm partial to the pastry side of things because I was a pastry assistant with Club Med at their winter village in Colorado back in the 1990s. I baked some Yorkshire puddings last night but the instant box version. I ate one last night and it seemed alright but next time I'll add some sugar and cinnamon perhaps. I always wanted to visit Princess Diana but sadly never got to do that. I did watch her over the top wedding on the TV when I lived in Colorado. I also wrote a poem for her titled Princess Of The People. The only copy of that poem was the one I wrote that got taken from an Anglican church in Denver, Colorado and placed at the main gate of Buckingham Palace. Why one copy of the poem ? Because she is one of a kind so only one copy was needed. I did a similar thing as that for my mother in October 2011 when my mother passed away. A handful of years before that I had written a poem for my mother titled What Is A Mother ? and gave it to her as a Mother's Day present. She absolutely loved it because she said it was better than anything I could have bought since it truly came from my heart. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes but in a good way despite I still miss her (my birth mother) and my birth father plus grand parents along with other relatives every second of the day. Please feel free to use one or both of my personally created titles. I'll share some of my literary love with you cracking humans and absolute legends.
Yum yum sir…how Diana’s must of loved it. I was married just a few months before her. How we the world miss her. Thank youChef for brightening her world and the queens. I know she is I’ll ….we are praying for her and ur country. Bless u all.
So is this called crepe soufflé because the ingredients are a hybrid of crepe and soufflé? Or is it because it is a soufflé cooked a little flatter than a normal soufflé so you make a 2 layer pancake?
Chef Darren...my great grandma cooked for the family long before you but I absolutely love you and your recipes. What tarts did you make for the Royal Family?
Kind Sir, would you have a "HRH favorite waffles" recipe to share with us? I enjoy your work very much mainly because I value things with quality and can be certain that anything made for a "royal" must have the highest quality. Thank you.
Great video! Darren, I'm curious about one thing: Why did you add the eggs in two different bowls? (Just the way you had things setup that day? Some cooking method? A kitchen superstition??)
Looks delicious! The proper French name of the dish should be "crèpes souflé à l'abricot" like in "soupe à l'oignon" or "tarte aux fraises" (strawberry tart).
Oooh… I am going to try making this, but without any fruity sauce on top. I am picturing melted butter and whipped cream for a naughty breakfast type meal.
Loved the tale about "tricking" the queen. However, I guess that she was on to it in the second or third time. Her personal chef offering desserts she dislikes again and again. Unlikely!
Darren have you ever thought about inviting Prince William or Prince Harry to join you on the show to talk about their favorite dish you've made them in the past? It would be a very interesting segment for sure.
@@lish8591 I have to think the Duke of Sussex would be more open to such adventures than The Firm would be with His Royal Highness, the Heir Apparent, participating. I somehow think the Duke is less responsive to pressure from the Royal Bureaucracy nowadays.
Darren, is the scene in the beginning of the film where you meet Diana on the road, true and correct? What were you doing away from the kitchen and on the road at such a busy time. Just curious. Thank you.
One has to wonder, with all the side drama, how much His Royal Highness and the Duke of Sussex remember such stories, and if the presumption they still cherish them is correct. . . .
OMG No wonder Diana loved you 👨🍳 chef, l don’t know if l am confident enough in my self to make these, if l do l will let you know, l have saved your recipe thankyou ❤️🩹🧑🍳
I’m just so glad to know she had moments of happiness & that people found ways to make her feel truly noticed, cared for and listened to. Preparing food is such an act of love.
Truly a miracle chef. Love watching your vids. What are the names of your cook books?
@Sylvia Anne Mahindroo the Royal chef at home.
I agree. Cooking is how I show my love for my family.
This guy is so chill in general. He must have had the best conversations with the princess. RIP
He's keeping her memory alive in the best way!
It seems Diana was happiest chatting to you in your kitchen, eating your delicious food, and who wouldn't be happy there. You knew her favourite things and probably her secret confidantes. Thanks so much for sharing. I appreciate Diana's courage more and more as I get older.
i think Darren , her boys and the adoring public were the only people who looked at her as Diana
Me too ❤

‘Until you eat it.’ Blahahaha 😂🤣 Love it! Your natural Irish/British cheeky humour
Gotta say that I love how these recipes are not crazy, they are just well done with good ingredients and technique
"It's completely fat free until you eat it!" 🤣🤣🤣
Time to stop drooling and head to the store for ingredients! Thank you, Darren! This looks absolutely wonderful.
Great! .

I wonder if the Queen watches this and just realized how you manipulated her into agreeing to Diana's favorite food? Too funny.
Queen probably didn’t need to be coerced. Haha😂
Same thought! 😹
The Queen ain't got time for UA-cam lololol

You inspired me to borrow "Spencer" from the library! Thank you. I will try to make this too. My times in England were some of the best I've known.

Oh my Stars!!! Looks SO Yummy. I can see why you were picked to cook for the Royal Family.
Eating like this is just about the only thing I envy the royals for.
The souffle looks wonderful, how about for those of us who are crazed chocoholics? Can you make a nice bittersweet chocolate sauce and use that instead?
I'm no expert, but surely there are no rules against it. (That means you should do whatever you want)
Uhoh. You’ve done it now.🤪
What a fabulous recipe and so easy too! I can understand why Diana loved it!
Diana, Princess of Wales, had good taste. These look amazing!
Never leave us, Sir Darren!
On thing I've noticed on this channel is he's cooking recipes meant for royalty. But they're so simple. Simple ingredients, simple techniques.
That's one thing I love about this channel. There are so many cooking shows with 'restaurant' chefs, but everything on here is something I'd actually serve my family at home. It's the perfect blend of royal elegance and simplicity at the same time.

I was cooking dinner for the fam - after a few gin and tonics and sharpened a knife :) It was messy. Don't drink and cook LOL
I could be hearing your stories for hours!

Chef, you and your videos are just the best.
Very high quality, entertaining, royal, reliving of old good days in addition to cooking.
Love your videos. You are such a good storyteller. Very entertaining 👍
I was thinking if the chef was representing you in the movie and also like you mentioned I was waiting for the crepes !
Brilliant Commentary on "Spencer" ☺☺☺

Loved the movie Spencer Kristen Stewart did amazing as princess 👑 Diana ❤️
Great video, looking foward to watching the movie. Even though the crepes soufflé is not in it.
Darren is like my uncle who made me dinner when I was sick in me bed. Lovely mate
Glad to see its a lot easier than I thought! thankyou for posting and the background stories which are never salacious just entertaining..
This is absolutely delightful! It is a sin to eat it, but I’m gonna make it! I’ll be a sinner!

Love this
Thanks for this. Know how important it is to not beat the peaked egg whites flat. Also recognized two essential steps in building the Sacher Torte
I have to make this, truly a dessert fit for royalty (especially with such a nice jam).
Thank you! 🌼
Darren you are the best teacher. Love your videos! ❤
A Chef after my own heart... Love it 👩🍳
Much Gratitude 💛 💫 💛

I love reduced apricot, makes the best dessert pies. 🥧
Thanks so much....Ill be making that for my Mum soon.
You know, it's nice to see you speaking about this stuff. It's pretty interesting.
That looks soooooo yummy!!! 👍👍 No wonder Diana loved it!!

Darren, Any chance of you including temperatures in Celsius as well as Fahrenheit? Fahrenheit messes with my head lol. Cheers!
Oooh… I am going to try making this, but without any fruity sauce on top. I am picturing melted butter and whipped cream for a naughty breakfast type meal.
