  • It finally happened - I've decided to sell an entry level pressure washer. The Karcher K series really impressed me. For their cost, they seem to have better construction, motors & pump than 99% of the cheap consumer pressure washers.

      Do you sell your hose for the SunJoe SPX3200 or does only work with the karchner? What would be the difference if I used your hose vs the hose that came with the Sun Joe? Please let me know. I would be interested in your quick release hose attachments and I would never call you to complain about getting scratches on the rubber hose. Complaining about the rubber hose is like complaining about the bottom of my shoes showing wear and tear from me walking. People are stupid. Wear and tear applies to everything. Hose or not! Lol.

    This project speaks to me in two ways. First, it shows that Matt and Obsessed Garage as a whole are on a mission to benefit an entire community, all of us who understand the OG message appreciate the massive amounts of work that went into this project, even for the individuals who already have their Kranzle machines. They get it. Secondly, it mirrors Matt's transition from a formal business into a mysterious career full of "what ifs". I give OG the highest level of respect for curating these products into the standard of pressure washing equipment for car washing. Good business insight to notice that the trend of modifying a PW to be the absolute best for our uses, would trickle down into these budget friendly machines, even if this was never an intention. I'm glad Matt/OG were the first to do it, and publicize it in a way that there is no question who created this idea and turned it to reality.. Hopefully they earn the profit and positive feedback to validate such an insane project, and in due time I wish to see patents or copyrights on OG projects so others cannot replicate it and steal credit for the solution. Keep doing "you".

      Thanks man. You've watched me fight this pretty hard the past two years. I didn't want to see the obvious. There is a market for this problem that I've accidentally created. We need QDs and pressure washing options to make our cleaning experience better. They are out there, but were extremely hard to source the information needed. I'd like to think I've had a small part in making this viable for the masses.

    I ordered this Karcher 1700 off Amazon for stupid cheap (like $115) the day you originally reviewed the Karchers (maybe 2 months ago?). I needed a new pressure washer fast as my former AR had crapped out (those SUCK). I already had the OG gun/wand/foam cannon package with all quick disconnects and various MTM nozzles, so was all set to go once the Karcher arrived. I had actually planned on buying a Sunjoe, so was VERY happy that Matt just happened to put up the Karcher reviews that day on UA-cam, causing me to pop the Karcher off Amazon that minute.
    I've used it many times in the past few months and am happy to say it's working GREAT 👍
    THANK YOU MATT FOR ALL YOU DO! You are clearly killing it with this whole OG store/company/social media phenomenon, both financially and from a pure success perspective, and you deserve every bit of it!
    And I just have to add, watching all of your videos that are there at OG headquarters with the inventory in the background, seeing everything so neat and organized just makes my brain feel so happy! Lol. You sir just get it, and I applaud you for it because there aren't that many like us out there 😉

    Ordered this advance setup! Listen to him at 19:30 ,Trying to save a few bucks will definitely not save you time and money when you buy from someone that’s doing it right. I have a 3,200 gas setup for household stuff but this Karcher will be my sole vehicle setup. Trust me, my 3,200 setup did damage to a vehicle that ended up costing me more in the end. I learned from it and grow as we all do. I wish I had a quarter million dollar Hse with a 2 or 3 car garage where I could get a Kranzel setup going but I am renting & the Karcher setup is the next best thing. Some even have only an apartment which an SunJoe or AR Blue is the only viable option. OG is awesome for testing setups for even us little people. Even tho some machines frustrated him, those were the only machines that we could afford or was available to us at the time. Thank You for all you do and you have made a life long customer to OG

    If you are on a tight budget, but you want the best user experience for the lowest price possible, get the best swiveling gun, the best hose, and the best disconnects. Sure, flow and PSI are great, but for washing cars, the user experience comes from a hose that doesn't kink and a gun that swivels and nice to squeeze. Once you have your nice gun and hose in your hand, you won't notice the pump, especially when you have the correct orifice for car washes.

      @@ObsessedGarage Truth be told, I found that some items were "sold out", yet showing as "available" in a completed kit with options. The garden hose size option is available with the same ultimate kit where it comes with a power washer, So why not also have that option available with the accessory kit w/o the power washer? And, if I build the kit piece by piece, some of the stuff is "sold out"... So I have no choice but to buy the accessory package if I want everything, and then buy a 2nd garden hose if I want a garden hose bigger than 6.5 feet?? Is this what you are telling me??
      If i'm buying the nicest kit, why not come with a 20' garden hose or at least the option to do so? When certain inventory is ONLY available when purchasing the most expensive kit option, i think it would be nice to be able to change the garden hose option as you can on the "complete package" with accessories and power washer.

    The models we find in Europe of Kärcher are very different ! In Belgium where I live theses models have “screens” build in the wand to adjust pressure on the go and they are rated 600l/h which is about 2,64 gl/minutes... so would be fun to see how they do against the models you have here in the US

    best budget unit by far. instant pressure so this might work over the other crappy washers if you want to use two together at one time. mine just ran out of juice after 11 months of doing 55 cars a month. well over 150 hrs on it so it does last longer than my ve52 did I used a 3.0 or 3.5 tip. even though I got 750 800 psi. it's plenty pressure for rinsing cars I got 1.6 gom with the 3.5
    hve to test two units in tandem 👍 probably 2.8 gpm @ 1300psi.

    I have the Sun Joe SPX 3200 and it works really well. I’m no professional and I don’t intend to use it to start a business but it works really well. It’s compact 2300PSI and 14.5 AMP. I just bought it off of Amazon and received it last week. My wife and I just bought a townhouse that’s never been power washed so there were a lot of dirt on our concrete stairs out front. I was able to clean off the algae off the steps of my front and back porches and I did not spend $150 and it was of good quality. Just saying.

    Hi Matt, Great series of testing pressure washers. Appears that you have settled on the Karcher line of small PWs. (and Karcher has stood the test of time) My question is, can we hook up 2 cubes and tee the pressure side together? My hope is to increase GPM, while the pressure seems to be fine. My concern would be amperage draw, but I have 2 circuits in my garage. One ground fault and one 20 amp. If you haven't tested this, would you mind? See if you can plug 2 on the same 20 amp circuit? Most breakers have a surge delay. $300 bucks or so may hold off a Kranzle purchase?

  • @phasmata3813
    @phasmata3813 5 років тому

    My Karcher finally died after a few years of use, and all of this info is coming in really handy. I'm a pro mobile detailer, and I did the Karcher thing because it really made sense economically for the price I paid for it at the time. Now I'm trying to find something better. Replacing a Karcher every 3-5 years is really economical (I could run Karchers for at least 30-40 years before spending as much money as buying one Kranzle), but environmentally, I hate how wasteful that sort of "disposable equipment" mentality is, and I would very much like to have better performance as well.
    Price isn't really my hold-up anymore; I'm on an amperage budget. I'm trying to find the best unit I can while being able to stay within the operational limits of my generator. Basically I can't run anything that has more than like 28 start-up amps, so as far as I can tell, Kranzle 1322 and AR630TSS are definitely no-go. Manufacturers don't seem to care about sharing the start-up amperage of their units. AR advertises the AR630 as 19 amps, but those are running amps. When you try to start-up that unit on a generator like mine, the peak amperage is so high (well over 30 amps as far as I can tell) that it overloads the generator. Additionally is the concern that even if a unit will run, if it is pulling so many amps at start-up as to flirt with the limits of my generator, that can be very bad for the pressure washer's motor, shortening its life significantly even if everything seems like it is running fine in the moment.
    My second priority is space--I'm mobile, and I can't have a big, bloated unit taking-up a bunch of space in my vehicle, so while the Kranzle 1122 might work electrically, it's way too bulky for my liking. Comet may also be a good choice, but I also wish it didn't have such a bulky housing.
    Matt, if you're reading this, assuming the 1122 can indeed run on my generator which is still an unknown, is there a way for someone to get a stripped-down 1122 that looks like the 1322/1622 (just the motor and pump with a simple handle)? The difficulty in getting manufacturers to share peak/start-up/in-rush amperage/current for pressure washers is making this more difficult than it should be, and I fear that I'm going to be relegated to a Karcher cube simply because that'll be all I can find that is safe to use combined with my generator.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  5 років тому

      I think the K1622 would solve your problem. It flows less and is much less power hungry.

    • @phasmata3813
      @phasmata3813 5 років тому

      @@ObsessedGarage Thanks, Matt. For some reason I was thinking the 1622 was the 165STS that you use.
      EDIT: I removed my lamentations about the lack of total stop on the 1622 as I have come to learn that when running on a generator, it is probably better for both the washer and the generator that the washer not constantly be starting and stopping. This makes the 1622 a top contender along with the Sun Joe SPX9004-PRO.
      No matter what I do, I'm not ordering anything anymore without getting some sort of feedback from the manufacturer or at least distributor that the machine I order isn't going to peak over 28 amps. It's really quite irritating how difficult it is to learn the in-rush current of these motors. I have emailed Kranzle and Sun Joe already hoping to get some answers.

    Awesome videos on power washers so far! Makes our decision making that much easier. I did have a question on water source (which is probably explained in a previous video)...if your only choice was the outside water spigot or an inside soft water spigot, what would you connect to? This is assuming no water filtration has been installed yet on either spigot.

      Having softened water would always be preferred. It will keep the machine internals cleaner and would likely last longer.

      @@ObsessedGarage thanks so much for the quick reply! I installed a garage sink in my new home that is attached to a whole-house water softener. I was hoping to use that for the time being before working on a filtration system.

    I just found your channel today. After watching reviews on Ryobi, Karcher & Greenworks, I'm considering the Greenworks Pro 2700 PSI, 2.3 GPM just for a little more pressure & flow. Then add your ultimate accessory kit. They have a 3 year limited warranty, just not sure how they stand behind it. I'll be washing my metal building, house vinyl siding, treated deck & the brick on the front of my house. Your thoughts would be appreciated!

    What's your opinion on the Karcher three phase HD 3.5/30-4s? They are about $3,000, you can adjust the water output, psi is up to 3,000 and are commercial grade. I have been comparing it to the Kranzle K1322TS for use on both homes and autos. Figured I could use it at 1300-1700 psi on auto and increase psi for lanai and sidewalk around house.

      I want to try the commercial Karcher stuff soon. They look really nice.

    FYI the 3-year warranty only applies to the motor and even then they send a refurbished replacement. Accessories only have a 90-day warranty.

    OG, is there a good way for the cube to mount to the stainless shelf? The Kranzle can sort of be tied down given the design, but these and the Comet? Not sure if there's a place for zip ties? I'd worry it'll vibrate off the shelf otherwise.

    @ObsessedGarage random one I got a very old Karcher 580 specs on the side say 9 litres per minute @ 90 bar or 2.38 us gpm @ 1300 psi but when I opened it up to repair it it had 9lpm @ 130bar cast into the metal pump head but I was going by the specs on the side, what nozzle size would I need ? I don’t like the nozzle that’s with it ? Thanks in advance

    Subbed and liked your videos, I have a question, all I'm going to be doing is removing the tire marks that are being left from my wife's Tahoe due to the tight turn she has to make to get into her garage on the driveway, there is no mold it's just the tire residue. I am asking if you would recommend this Karcher unit with the surface cleaner. Again it's all I'll be doing with it, maybe once a quarter. Thank you for all your excellent reviews and here's to years of success with the business!

      It might do it, but it will probably take a while. I think you'll really want a gas pressure washer for that.

    I’m trying to get myself into the mind set where I buy a rubber hose from and online vendor, drag it all over my driveway and step on it while washing my car and then upon finding some scuffs send an email to my source to air out my grievances. I’m gonna keep trying.

    I have had several cheapos….. listen people. just get the Kranzle , be done with it. Without doubt you have already spent more on soap, decon, topper, polish micro etc.... than a pressure washer like this! Not to mention a hose, gun and cannon! Just get the Kranzle….you wont regret it and then we can never have this tedious discussion again about crappy pressure washers. Matt has WAY more patience than I do.

      Hmm. Sure if you have a grand to get a pw sure. For people just starting out into this hobby they may not have a grand to drop on 1 product.
      I had a full wall mount setup for a lot less and just did small upgrades over time. Worked for me.
      Get what you can comfortably afford.

    In the end it's a tool.. hoses will get marked up just like tools do... it shows you use it and gives it some character lol.
