You would put a poly… in a ‘Cuda? Don’t get me wrong, I like the poly a lot, but it doesn’t belong in there. That’s probably what makes this a brilliant idea. Haha.
Really, at the end you said that your Challenger's back seat is unusable and the trunk is too small? That car is considerably larger than the old E body Barracuda and its slightly longer Challenger like the one featured here ('Cuda 340). The LD Challenger is more like the size of the B body cars that you prefer for more interior space (more of a large intermediate).
I know 😅 my eight year old can barely crawl in the back seat and has almost no leg room with a front seat passenger. The trunk is much less useless and isn’t actually that small, but the shape is goofy.
Jamie, how you said about the wheel wells, the others you mentioned looks like a kidney bean on the openings. Also those were on the satellites and the road runners that had larger openings.

I never said it wasn’t. My problem is with the pedantic tendency to insult the intelligence of someone referring to a gauge by what it is labeled. I will continue to bring attention to those among us who want to behave that way. It’s ridiculous. That gauge is STUCK. I explained that in the video. It is not at all reflective of the current state of the charging system. I explained that too.
@@DeadDodgeGarage As to be expected, yet another smart-ass retort. “Pedantic tendency”, “insult the intelligence of someone”, really, that’s what you took away from that comment? Again, the gauge/cluster label styling variations for that gauge over all the past Chrysler production years/platforms (i.e. “ALT”, “ALTERNATOR”, “BATT”, “AMPS”, “APHERES” or whatever) means nothing as to what the device is technically called. There is nothing trivial or inconsequential about using the correct terminology when discussing technical material at any level of detail. May be missing the point, your ammeter wordplay may be intended to have some kind of entertainment value, just not sure. Like I said, you call it whatever you want. I stand corrected, I did miss the part about that ammeter being mechanically stuck.
Now you have an opportunity to test my story. The front end will “fly” at 130mph. Big block cars will Not. Use caution, we found that if you blow right through the 130mph mark the car will flip. Hence the “rare” nature of existing 340 Cudas and Challengers. I am very thankful we lost no friends, just cars.
I put an autometer classic mopar fuel gauge from summit on my 87 d150 fuel tank, hooked the blue wire from the fuel tank to gauge and hooked other wire from tank to ground and gauge works perfect

It does! Incredible, I know.
The mopar whisperer does it again!!
I like it I would put the 318 with the half hemisphereical heads on it and a 4 barrel carb and 5 speed manual.
Yes, please!
Just wondering if there is a mechanical fuel pump that doesn't dump fuel into the crankcase if the diaphragm shats the bed?
The funny part is that they all have weep holes, but I’ve seen this happen multiple times anyway.
Jamie, how you said about the wheel wells, the others you mentioned looks like a kidney bean on the openings. Also those were on the satellites and the road runners that had larger openings.
Ok, but I know at least Challengers absolutely have special fenders on 15” wheel and Hemi cars. I have not compared the two.
@DeadDodgeGarage i was close though 😁
And reemembeer, slant six does not have slot for distributor. Guess what I was chasing in my 79 Aspen last week...
Yeeeeep… I’ve discussed that in my turbo slant series but of course it slipped my mind here.
Watching the 'oil' flow out of the sump like a waterfall...ouch.
Yeahhhh… that’s not ideal.
I feel cheated. :/ A flame test on that oil would have been so exciting!😂
Oh trust me… I thought about it
Everything ive ever worked on has an offset drive on the dizzy . Straight is great except it can cause the exact issue the original dizzy fitted caused . lovely car though .
Ok, how do you get such awesome sound quality from phne videos? Post production? My UA-cam videos, made indoors, do not sound as good as yours😢
That’s the magic of the iPhone…

Likely saved that one!
That tree forty💪
I would love to own an b body, but I had a rare and special opportunity to own a 1970 barracuda that I have restored. I will keep it forever.
That’s awesome! I think they’re great driving cars with boat loads of style and coolness. I think I just like my muscle a little bigger. I’ll probably have an E body in the stable again some day.
That owner is so lucky she wouldn't start. Let's see, leaking fuel pump, crankcase full of gas, distributor way off, carb set screws out too far. Excellent job making her run like a cuda 340 again
Call it what you want, It’s still an ammeter. And that one is indicating a problem if it is constantly registering excessive charging current.
They're just
so
cute!
It isn't orange, its Red! Tor red!🤣 beautiful car!👍 I had one in lemon twist!
Yes, Tor Red, which famously isn’t red 😅
@@DeadDodgeGarage 😂👍
Good afternoon,,,,,,,, Yeee Yeee 😊
The juice loosener..... IT'S WHISPER QUIET!!😂
Yikes 😅
My 62 880 suffered the same diaphragm failure. It still ran tho but kinda. Two back to back oil changes and it was fine. Diaphragms is so stupid.
Same happened to my ‘73 Swinger many years ago. That was fun…
Beautiful car! Could it simply be marking it's territory? (I'm commenting before watching the video)
That could well be 😅
Now you have an opportunity to test my story. The front end will “fly” at 130mph. Big block cars will Not.
Use caution, we found that if you blow right through the 130mph mark the car will flip. Hence the “rare” nature of existing 340 Cudas and Challengers. I am very thankful we lost no friends, just cars.
I won’t be testing the theory with a customer’s car 😅 I’ve been 130+ in an R/T Charger. It felt like the tail end was trying to take flight…
@@DeadDodgeGarage Understood. Safe travels 😇
I put an autometer classic mopar fuel gauge from summit on my 87 d150 fuel tank, hooked the blue wire from the fuel tank to gauge and hooked other wire from tank to ground and gauge works perfect
Rad! Personally, I’d rather have a half or fully dead gauge than an aftermarket one 😅 but I’m a weirdo.
Thank goodness the owner could not get it running.
Very upset....my phone is supposed to notify me of new videos. I had to find it manually. 😆
