Dieses Jahr leider echt ein ziemlich enttäuschendes Jubiläum gewesen.. am mittwoch fast nix geiles im Zelt ausser Sweet... History stage war dafür bombe und nächstes Jahr lohnt allein schon für Mercyful Fucking Fate :)
Have seen them 59 times live - with countless lineups and I´m sorry to say that this is by far not the best! Tony was perfect as "second man" with Pete Lincoln on the lead and did very well while Steve Grant was on keyboards, but here he doesn´t sound so great anymore. Only saw the "classic" lineup once when I was 12 - so I cannot really say if they were the best. In my opinion the best Sweet gigs I remember were with Andy, Bruce, Steve Grant and (please don´t hate me) Jeff Brown on lead & bass followed by the last lineup with Andy, Bruce, Tony and Pete!
hubert exl : thanks for your insights. But who cares ? Andy still makes it possible that we can hear all these songs even in 2020. That as such is amazing for both of us. My mom was a sports teacher and learned her students to dance on ‘Funny, Funny’ back in 1972, that is how the first record of Sweet got into our house. I was 9 back than. Same as you, I saw various line ups. Some better than others, but every single concert was always big fun. Great memories !
