Hey everyone! Today I am showing you one of the things I grew up seeing all the women in my family do! It’s how I get my hair flat and straight without using a straightening iron! I hope you like and let me know in the comments below if you have tried this!

I got it at my hair salon. So you can try there… that’s your best bet… But I’ve also tried wig caps that work. They sometimes are a bit tight, so try stretching them out. Try this one: amzn.to/3dsitRS

Very pretty. Our hair is mixed so it's a struggle. Been doing Dominican roller set since I was a kid. Doing the doobi right after. It really cuts down on heat damage.

I highly recommend going to a Dominican hair salon. Pero eso siiii go with snacks, a blanket and free up your day. Go an hour before they open to be the first. When i lived in P.R i learn this fast. Oh yeah also get ready for bochiche (gossip) and loads of laughs. My hair stylist is like a therapist i swear. The only thing that shows that like 4 hours have passed is when i get up my bum is numb.i always have hated rollers and dubis but they make the hair look so good. Bueno la belleza duele 😂😂😂

I’ve always used a pantyhose. In Venezuela we call it “la vuelta” and it works so well
We also do it in South Africa with pantyhose Its called a swirlkous. .

This is a good & easy way to preserve your blowout. But the title is a little misleading since your hair was already straightened using heat, and the title implies you are straightening the hair without the heat.

Does the salon always do the initial straightening? In New York I remember all the ladies having big rollers in their hair (including my mother and Aunt...even us as little girls) with a scarf or hairnet on 😀😂🤣 going to the supermarket, the bank (OMG) and other errands...we had no shame!!! ☺️ I have been wearing my hair curly forever and now I have a job where my hair cannot look "wild & free"!!! I remember the first time my mom ever let me get a wrap. We call them Roller wraps in Mississippi. But I was so excited I was like 10 years old and I would wrap my hair up every night. Lasts at least 2-3 weeks. My hair is natural now so I have to get it blown out somewhere.

The hard part for me is the top of the head, it doesn't twirl and it ends up staying curly and frizzy 😭
Make sure your parting It in the middle and wrapping one side and then wrapping the other side over it

We call it swill kous made of stockings in south africa. We put tissue in top of the head before putting the swill koud is prevent breakage and split ends

we did this waaaaaaaaaay back in the day. only we put the very top hair into a roller because if you didn't and did the Dobee wrap with we hair? you'd get a weird divot there. lol

How do you keep your hair straight in humid weather?
Dilaravamp A doing Toobies or Doobies helps a lot at keeping it straight. Also try to stay near fans or Air conditionings .
How does your hair not revert in humidity?
Sometimes it does. 🤷🏽♀️ not always. I think my hair is used to the Floridian humidity. But it’s not always perfect. hair problems continue to plague us all 😘

Can this be done with wet hair?
I have A LOT of hair , so if I do, it takes FOREVER to dry. If your hair is not so thick and not too curly you can! 😊
I tried it yesterday with wet hair and omg it worked! I did it at like 8pm and took it off at 11pm and it was straight. I have this hair so it dried by then! Thank you!!!!!!
