Merry Christmas Dara and Bill
I picked up the Michter's 10 year Rye just recently. I haven't tried it yet though.
I agree totally with all your choices. The Michter’s 10 Year Bourbon was the best I bought and tasted this year.
Merry Christmas!
Cheers 🥃 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🇺🇲
Yeah...those russells store picks are...yeah...
I am not a fan of the regular russells single barrell, but the store picks are something different.
Makers cellar aged is my #1 of rhe year...never even saw a bottle on the shelf, but had a pour at a cigar bar and I was sold...BEP was excellent as well, but your right that cellar aged was extra!
This is a great list. I have a Russell’s store pick, 9 years out of camp Nelson. It’s fantastic
Great list! Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on that Michter's 10 year, soon!
All Jack Daniels is Bourbon but not all Bourbon is Tennessee Whiskey 😂
That is an awesome list merry Christmas guys and I think I’m gonna go pour a Jack Daniels 12 right now
Great list, have 5 of your top 7 except #1… its eluded me…. Hoping to find michters 🥃
For my wife and I we did our blind Sunday Christmas Eve. Our winner was the 140.9 cowboy. It beat a Thomas H Handy and a Stagg Jr 23A and a EH Taylor full proof.
Thought for sure you would have had camp Nelson F on the list. Agree with M10 and JD12 for sure.
We would’ve but we don’t own camp Nelson F. We only include bottles we own in the video
Great list. The old school distilleries are stepping it up.
Fabulous video!! My first time here!! Amazing choices. I have had all of these and I am in total agreement with your opinions!! You both rock!! Nice to see women in whisky channels! We can be a minority out there but hey we live fine who’s too! I am a single malt scotch connoisseur by nature but Bourbon and Rye are also lives for me!! Happy New Year!! Cheers!! 🍻
Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching! We’re excited to have you here :)! Cheers! Have a great day!
@@TheAverageDrinker Thanks so much! You are so kind! Here's to some spectacular drams of whisky in 2024!! Be well!! Happy New Year!! 🙂
I have the USA Wine Traders store pick. I've never had regular version. I bought the store pick because for some reason it was $10 less the regular offer. I enjoy it.
Cellar Aged is a good bottle but the hype and expectations made no sense. It's a 11 & 12 year old whiskey but they threw it in a cellar that basically stopped most of the aging process for 5-6 years. It's different than regular maker's but only just. The biggest selling point is that its 115 proof - higher than Maker's Cask Str. It's a good, easy drinking, and "smooth" whiskey. It's like the definition of an easy drinking high proof whiskey. The secondary $500+ price tag is silly though - it was a fairly large release and they are still putting out bottles (EU shipments are just hitting shelves).
It's one of those bottles that became an internet darling that would have sat on shelves for months before the bourbon boom. UA-cam (and social media in general) have really done a number on the conscious of consumers. It's a pure FOMO bottle for most people.
Most 4 Roses SBBP's are better than Makers Cellar Aged. The 4 Roses LE's absolutely crush it.
That said... anytime I see it at MSRP I would buy it instantly. Maybe if I had 3 bottles I would stop buying it. I expect that we will continue to see Cellar Aged on a fairly regular basis though. Similar to JD age stated. Hopefully the hype on both die down with subsequent releases
I want to try so many of these pours, but C923 and JD12 are just getting to outlandish prices. Just looked..JD12? $300++. I can't find Michter's 10 anywhere.
Jack 12 #1 for me and honestly the twice barreled rye was spectacular. I wasn't able to try a Michter's 10 but this JD12 is the best bottle I've ever owned.
We picked a winner, Bill! Cheers and happy holidays to you both!
Yes you did! Cheers, Shawn! Hope you had a great Christmas and Happy New Year!
Where is the RR Camp Nelson F?
We only include whiskey we one. We don’t own that. We only had a sample of it. Cheers
I am surprised RR Single Rick CNF was not on the list. I agree with most, but think EC C923 is over rated. Bought two and quickly let the second walk after trying the first. Just not a fan of any of the EC / heaven hill products outside of a couple of the Larceny BP batches. Their flavors do not blend together very well.
We don’t own that RR single Rick so that’s why it’s not in the video. We only include bottles we own
@@TheAverageDrinker Good call, my bad. I went back and realized you reviewed a sample not the bottle. Thanks for the great videos!
I was able to score a 23E that I have yet to crack but I’m sure it’ll be a damn good bottom.
Most Russel Reserve store picks are as good, if not better than the Single Rick House and Russels 13 releases.
Great show. If you are willing to say, what stores in the Denver area are you able to find these bottles? Like Elijah Craig 9/23 and the Michters. Can never find on the western slope of CO. Thanks.
Have u had the Jack Daniels barrel proof rye yet 132.0
Definitely my favorite of the year
Best rye whiskey on the market
69.99$
It’s fantastic!!
What all did you include? Perhaps release a list of Bourbons you didn’t include?
