Poor POOR Bertie! Between his horrid family and shiftless ungrateful friends they give credence to the old saying, "let no good deed go unpunished ". Poor boy.

While Wodehouse is my absolute favorite author, I have never found that the humor could be interpreted on screen. Simply because it's not acting the narrative which is funny - as in a sitcom - but in the words telling it. This series, however, manages to amuse me. Still not as much as reading his writing but better than any other production of Wodehouse's work I have seen.
I agree - P.G. Wodehouse's humour is in his writing and the imagination - I usually can't make it to the next page due to stomach cramps I get from laughing, but with this series I am usually laughing because of the brilliant acting, though, not to the degree of humour I can find on the books themselves. For some reason, the elements that made the book so funny tend to be interpreted in rather annoying ways on screen - is that just me, or are they equally annoying in the book?
Hmmm, maybe it was the way you visualized it while reading that made it funny instead of annoying? Maybe in the TV series it’s the editing & directive choices that give it a different feel for you?
Whenever I feel down I turn to the hapless Bertie for release. I am envious however that I do not have my own sensible practical problem solving Jeevish person.
I love the dynamic between the singer and Bertie at the end. It's so light hearted, both of them enjoying the music and having a laugh, I wish there was more of that dynamic with female characters and Bertie who weren't trying to marry him.
Inspite of the change in actors, especially Aunt Agatha, at least they were well chosen. I thought the change of Eustace and Claude as twins was a particularly smart idea by the casting director and writers. IDK if Wodehouse specified in the novels they to be twins but I think it was very effective.
love that actor who plays alexander slings bury, the soup king guy, , great voice, hilarious in film Cold Comfort Farm with Kate Beckinsale i also love the "jute king" actor in earlier episode, season 3, fantastic booking voice who played in Coen Brothers film The Big Lebowski, absolutely great casting for minor characters and Fry and Laurie are comic brilliance cannot take my eyes off their facial expressions and jeeves enunciations

LOL. Bertie Wooster is a rich aristocrat at a time when Britain still had an Empire, he knows the entire British establishment through the drones club. And he's still pushed around like he's an east end fish and chip seller. He bought the painting first. He'd have sued in a British court, the judge would of been someone at the drones clubs father and he'd have taken that entire ad agency to the cleaners.

The image of Jeeves quietly kicking the golf ball out of the way like *What is my job?* to open the door has made my entire day.
You gotta love Mrs. Gregson. Her character is tremendous. Bless the actor who portrayed her. She was awesome.
She really could portray an aristocratic snob.

Robert Daws should get a mention. He's fantastic as Tuppy Glossop.

Tuppy is bombastic and usually well out of his depth with the latest female he's pursuing.
Yes he and Spode are the two best characters in this. Brilliantly performed by both actors.
