- Australian producer Tristan Hallis, aka DJ BORING, rose out of the lo-fi house scene, but his recent tracks are far too effervescent and high-gloss to be called 'lo-fi'. He's recently released his instalment of !K7's DJ-Kicks series, and we visited his London studio to get a look at the making of one of the mix's original cuts, You Luv Me - an infectious blend of peak-time rhythms, ingenious sampling and Daft Punk-informed synths.

Love that his CPU is clipping out too!
What a down to earth guy. Great DJ too. Thanks for this.
8:12 Whether or purpose or not, that's not uncommon to have vocals actually saying something else than what you hear or what the artist wants you to hear.
on to the next one by jay-z is a cool example
Absolutely
@@Pronoc1 Nice one indeed.
One that I like is 'Indian Carpet' by Timbaland. It actually says "imbiancate", italian for whitewashed or whitened.
And he also tried to trick the listeners in a different way with another song "Indian Flute", but this time it's a colombian sample.
Outboard!! Diamond
Love that Winona track dude 💯🔥🤩
2:57 "I'm not really one for blandness". Calls himself Dj Boring
