There is something special when items are handmade and not store-bought With this Yuletide symbol and knowing what it signifies, hand making it, is the way to go.
I remember during my elementary years in the province we bring our own handmade parols to decorate our classroom and it covers almost the entire ceiling.Usually the big ones are most beautiful ones.
@@ACORNHILL I was inspired to relive ths experience after watching your video.I'm gonna make my own parol too and will give it as presents to my friends here in Dubai.♥️♥️♥️
Hahaha. Thanks ‘Mars. Si Tatay ko din ang gumagawa ng Parol frame sa amin nung maliit pa kami ni Vangie. Tinuruan niya ako. I miss the annual Parol parade sa atin. Uniquely Filipino and very uniquely our kind of Christmas
You’re welcome. I am a sucker for things trivial and artisanal. Hope this encouraged you to make your on Parol as well. Thanks for checking out Acorn Hill.
Beautiful. I will make this next year. Watching you from Vegas. Happy Holiday. Keep safe. I made one this year, using the same bamboo stick ( use for my gardening) looks nice but I like something bulky not flat...so next time I will use your procedures. Thank you . I subscribe too . You deserve it with that extra effort.
Thanks! There’s several kinds of punchers available online and in stores. We got ours from Michael’s. Amazon has a wide selection of them as well. Thanks for visiting the channel. Let me know how yours work out! 🙋🏻♂️
Hi there. I got my 6-foot bamboo stakes from my local big box store/hardware store. It comes in a package of 6 sturdy 6-ft long pieces. For $6.99. Very good buy. Amazon carries some I am sure. Thanks for dropping by. Hope you’d consider subscribing as well. Keep safe 😀
Many thanks for your kind comment. The bamboo I got from a garden center. They’re used as plant stakes. The puncher I got from a craft store. They come in many varieties nowadays. Best is also to purchase them from a reputable online source like Amazon and the like. Thanks for chiming in and welcome to Acorn Hill 😄
It’s was fairly easy to do. With a sharp craft knife, I split the canes by gently tapping the knife through the diameter/ width of the bamboo stake. It only took me an average of 5 minutes along the length of each 2-foot piece of bamboo stake. Then I soaked/submerged the split bamboo in a tub of water (completely covering the stakes). This allowed for the bamboo to be malleable and easy to bend and shape. Hope this helps and I hope you get to make bamboo for your mum. Tag or let me know how it works out! 🙋🏻♂️
Pardon sa delay in replying po. Hindi ko ginamitan ng plastic ang Parol On the video. I used tissue paper or papel de Japon. If your interested in using plastic, cellophane wrappers would be the way to go. Hope this helps and thanks for checking out my channel. Looking forward to your continued viewership
