This is a cold piece! NObody rocked "Slop" the way Eddie Hazel did, but bruh was excellent filler. And Bootsy kept the rhythm sect on lock, loved the merge from Swing Down to Slop. Keep it on the ONE.

That’s Garry Shider on Cosmic Slop. Eddie Hazel was out of the band at that point. He came back for the next Funkadelic album, which was Standing In the Verge of Getting It On, but went to jail soon after that and Michael Hampton replaces him. Garry Shider came in after Eddie left and really stepped up on Cosmic Slop

Dammn... Never saw them playing live and each time I heard one of their show on the radio I've been blown by how high they take their joints on stage. This is something out of this world, really.
Now Bernie Worell passed a few years ago and I realise that as a music lover, not having been able to see these dudes at one of their show, I have probably mess the greatest part of live modern music.
I have many musical regrets too, but missing these guys is not one of them. Saw them at Soldier Field Chicago, 1978. There was over 70,000 people -- Bootsty didn't make it, but it was still an amazing show.

Flip Cornett was the rythm guitar player (on the right side of the stage) the solo guitar player is Dee Dee "Dirty Muggs" James and he was formerly in a band called Da Kraash (prod by Jesse Johnson of The Time) and later in Kool Skool another band produced by Jesse Johnson.

@@JibrailJones Dee Dee James was with Bootsy only for a short period of time during the 90s. If you hadn't seen him back then you could easily be mistaken... But he was VERY good. I wish he had stayed a lil' longer with Bootsy

Mainstream music since the 2010s have been really wack. No sonic diversity, just the same generic sounds and genres but even more watered-down. At least the 2000s still had variety.
