Great idea on holding the gamma with string!!!!! . Mine bent down due to heavy snow. I had to pull the antenna down a few times to make that repair. Next time I will use the waxed string. Cheers MJ
I used to have a Maco V5/8 wave. I loved it so much. It was on a 45' tilt down with 15' of mast. Using a Yaesu ft7b. Dead key 3/10 (.3) watts and swing 80+ watts. I talked all over the world with that set up.
Tilt the quad on its side with the gamma vertical. It works fantastic. You get both polarity. We did it with a buddies and field tested it at a range of 50 miles at night with no skip. Great performance on both vertical and horizontal at the same time. 73 from 567 northern Minnesota.

With that macov5000 you have there run that turner plus 2 mic you going be alot good contacts my turner plus2 can work almost my radios it does work with cobra 139 i hope get my grant working tx it does work with receive. i think best money spent on turner plus 2. for 25$ on offer on ebay i talk down offer it was 50$ it was 3pin connected ran it 4pin it does great on quad5 you can run it without pin4.

Did saw my robyn wv23 i getting 4 pin mic adapter for it i think turner m3+ it's bad element i bought for 10$off fb marketplace the radio works there nothing wrong chips they like brand new condtions inside the radio i was think turner mic.
UDX-151 alot udx guys on channels 37 LSB you'll hear UDX-390 out there i heard him about week ago he was talking to Hawaii i heard on my quad 5 he was at S-7.

You should try get one toy drones scare birds it doesn't work on ducks i try it with my phantom 3 advance drone scare ducks out my pool back utah they wheren't afraid any wind from drone back 2020.
I get alot luck on that jamicia channel those guys been great never had problems those guys on 38 get kind crazy i think 1111guy and skybanger i think they are mental ill i think guy had guy had imagery person talking to on the radio it could be i think he acts like that he could be hads depression i remeber 38 didn't had this when first came to tn and also back i utah. mudduck in dessert he just talk about his radios he last about 2 hours on somedays ch19 been clear i just like guess these things out there.

I love my Maco V58!
Back when Maco was Wilson, the V58 was sold with and without the radials. You could even try half length radials.

I started using the spray version of Flex Seal on my coax connectors.
I've been using automotive high temp gasket maker, it seems to hold up well.
I like that good idea. Off to Home Depot today

I can not get swr to be stable. It's not 2/1 in the rain.
I've silicone caulked the vertical elements and all connections. Idk what else to do!
