I have a Silverado 1500 LT with the 3.0. IMO its the best light duty truck engine. Power when you need it immediately. Efficient I'm averaging over 26MPG
Does your truck make a weird noise rite after you turn it off ? It's coming from the outside . I just bought the same truck with the 3.0 Duramax and it's my first diesel . But I noticed it makes this weird noise rite after I turn it off . Is this a normal thing for this truck ?
Great video. Congrats! Quick question since you have two baby Duramax vehicles. Do you notice a “burnt” smell when the regen takes place, or is that’s only when new? I test drove a 3.0, and it did a regen while driving it, and the smell inside the cabin was unbearable. Wondering if that’s only when new (as it burns finishes, etc). For me that’s a non-starter. The cabin should be smell free regardless. Thanks!
Check out this video, this is it driving it home from the dealership 320 miles away, I talk about the mpg in this video ua-cam.com/video/cLAiEEE7M_k/v-deo.html
That's a great price on a nice truck, but I'm surprised the payload is only 1622 on a lower mid level truck. It seems like the equivalent Chevy RST has slightly more payload. I'd expect this Elevation, as equipped, to have at least 1750 payload. I'm planning to order a 2025 Silverado RST Z71 in double cab form and I expect it will have around 1700 payload. I'm getting the premium package which does add a bit of weight, but the double cab weighs less than crew cab.
Yeah, I thought it would be more as well, that's why I wanted to show the specs on this truck so people will know how the payload is as configured. Best of luck with your new truck.
It looks like you have the Prograde trailering system which means you can get GM trailer TPMS sensors and display trailer tire pressure and temperature on the little side screen. They are very expensive from the dealership or on GM parts houses. I got GM part number 13540608 and they're much less expensive even though they're the same thing the Chevy dealer sold me.
Just a little correction. Your Yukon has a different engine than the Sierra. Both are 3.0L diesel, but the Yukon has the last gen LM2 while the Sierra has the current gen LZ0.
@@Myksgarage You said it had the same engine as your Elevation. The Elevation does have the LZ0. The Yukon does not. The internals of the LZ0 are totally different from the internals of the LM2 in your Yukon. My point being, they are two different engines.
If your Silverado/Sierra doesn't come with a factory installed brake controller you cannot add a factory brake controller post purchase. The computers and firmware are not set up for it. So if a factory brake controller is important to you make sure it comes from the factory with one.
Your tailgate plastic trim on the inside has a factory defect. Take it to your dealer. I called it the shit stain as the black plastic trim has a white line down the middle of it running longways.
@@Myksgarage No, the big plastic rectangle inner plastic of your tailgate. If you were to open your tailgate, and sit on it. The plastic “Liner” there. There is a discoloration running longways along the plastic liner.
Just test drove the 1500 elevation with the 5.3. Loved everything except for the seats. How could they allow such garbage to be put in the truck? Horrible seats. Just horrible
@@Myksgarage I have a base model Tacoma with pretty crappy seats, the GMC makes my Tacoma seats seem like I'm driving a Bentley. If you actually try to squeeze the foam on the GMC, you can feel the metal frame of the seat. I still might try to make peace with it since I loved everything else about the truck.
Elevations do not have “multi-pro tailgate” like the SLT/Denali my friend nor leather seating nor wireless phone charging in the front center consoles like the SLT
Yes, I have an Elevation with leather, multi-pro tailgate, wireless phone charging, the floor console shifter, and 360 cameras. Elevations can definitely be upgraded.
Dude.....The off-road X21 Package provides the two-speed transfer case with the auto / AWD setting. All 4WD models comes with 4 low gearing. Come on, do your research.

That trim does have lane keep assist equipped on it.
Well I guess I was trying to say it won't steer in the lane for you.

What's the average APR% On this one?
Well I got 6.99% for 72 months, which at the time was the best rate for that term.
So you had the trailer brake added from dealer?
The dealer ordered it with it, so it was factory installed
