I think after (1S) - (-) 1NT has to more wide-ranging that 12-14. When we X 1S, with a minimum hand, partner will still bid at the 2 level, and we're going to have to bid 2NT to show our strong NT. It's a pretty different auction from (1C) - (P), where after we double, we can probably show our strong NT at the 1 level. So I think I'd still balance 1NT with this hand
I don't understand why you played your diamond suit that way. You can guarantee three tricks if you duck the first lead - maybe I am missing something (not unusual). Good series though, enjoy these sessions.
On first hand, playing a low diamond from dummy on trick one and returning 9 of diamonds will guarantee 3 diamonds tricks, 5 club tricks and 1 heart trick.
@@benchapple1583 It is a raised condition, who gets to take their tricks first. Diamond lead helps by securing 8 tricks after the first two tricks. Sneaking a heart trick before they cash out spades, may allow the declarer to make 9.
@@rajivsynghal1067 I agree, but the fact is that if you play small from dummy there is no way to make against good defence. The fact is the contract is down whatever you do. The question is should you rise with the queen or not. I think not. I.e. I agree with you. But it is pure speculation as to which mistake, if any, the defenders will make. If you play small then they can cash 5 tricks and they know it. if you play queen then they can cash 5 tricks and they know it. Small, you lose, queen, you lose. You're choice.
Great attitude 😄😃😁 . THANK YOU
Thanks Rob

But 1 diamond, 2 spades and 2 hearts to the defenders. That's one down.
