The lighting, toon shading and animation really made this 3d animated short feel very 2D. Excellent job. This is definitely very inspirational for my own animated short film that also has a theme of space travel.

I just found out I failed 3 classes this semester...It ruined me. My plan to become an engineer within 5 years just started to fall apart. After staying up most of the night and doing nothing the day after, just feeling horrible and sorry for for myself, I remembered this video. This animation. Took me a while to find it but when I finally found it...man...did it help. I may have fallen, but I’m gonna he get back up and work even harder! I’ll get that degree and become an engineer some day. Just wait and see.

I am an artist too, my parents are alive, but they're separated and abroad... And TBH, I know they love me back. But I feel kinda awkward and distant from them. We rarely talk, maybe it's their job or my forgetfulness.
But this isn't about me, your comment is the main topic ! I hope you moved on peacefully and is happy doing animations, when you bumped into hard times, remember to not look down and not give up hope ! No its just a typical 'Fú' character. I have one in the living room, doesnt nessesarily need to be chinese new year. It means fortune/luck/happiness. And then some chinese families like to hang it upside down. And upside down in chinese is dào. So it reads Fú dào. Its a word play, dao means upside down but also sounds the same as 'arrive'. So it means 'Luck/furtune/Happiness Arrives'. Hope you guys find learning languages is fun because they cant be fully translated, you need to be fluent in both languages to get the full meaning.

I think that important theme in this cartoon is careerism and inability to control it. Some people want to live a bright and flaming life so much so they lose the patient and real(in my opinion) part of life which is simple social interactions, love(yep) and just state of being lazy. I am not saying that career goals and stuff like that is not important and cant give pleasure and happiness. I am saying that the balance between these two edges is, in some way, the ultimate way to live a life.

The cinematography and lighting are excellent. I love the staircase-dining room scenes. The hard divide between the lamp in the dining room and the stairway in shadow always conveys moments when Luna and her father are close and when she isn't, and then having the lamp turned off for the father's death, as if all life in the house had disappeared. Amazing storytelling.

This short film has so much emotion in it in 7 minutes with no words. Especially when compared to a hour and a half or two hour movie. The people that worked on this should be proud of this and they should get way more recognition cause this was amazing

One small step, a chance at hand,
To every dream that course to land.
And where they go to that distant glow,
Fair to hope may bright to show.
For that a star shall soar to height,
Across the known of worlds in sight.
Those that sleep and those that wake,
There they stand as fierce to make.

Filmnya sangat menginspirasi!

everyone talking about many things yet, the most devastating part is she will never be able to share this moment with her father, and it hurts like no other, the loss of a loved one is something, and not being able to share your achievement your happiness with them is another tragedy, I am still crying.

Everything about this is relatable and everything about this is beautiful. It gives me hope for the future and strength to endure whatever life hits me with. I really hope this one wins at the Oscars, but even if it doesn't, know that you've touched millions of hearts.

This is why cliches are useless to point out, it's incredibly difficult to come up with a story that's truly original, most of them have been done already.
Stories should be looked at for execution, not originality.

In this film, a very big sense than it seems at first glance. I want to say that this short cartoon very well myself. But let's move on to the meaning. Here it is clearly shown that the girl wanted to go to the moon. She tried to go towards her goal, but since her father (or this grandfather) died, she was ready to say goodbye to her dream. But she collected her thoughts, and everything worked out for her. Here the girl is shown as an ordinary person, her grandfather as hope, and Luna as fate. Very touching movie, thank you for this masterpiece.
