I started off just improvising to get an idea of where it would take me and what kind of concept would materialize. I then viewed and listened to this very tape many times before going to bed as inspiration to trigger the creative subconscious.
The next day I structured a concept and decided on specific melodies for the presentation. Of course, composing and performing are different dynamics. Trying to perform what I composed proved to be a challenge especially since my performance muscles were a bit rusty.
As part of this “Creative Process” series, I decided to share the frustrations I went through trying to nail this mofo. I also shared a few of the outtakes involved.

NON-SEQUITUR CAMEOS
THE DOG: I'm fond of dogs especially ones that are unreal.
OLSEN TWINS: Many moons ago I played a wanna-be cowboy for one of their Mystery TV Shows. I called myself Bongo Buckaroo.
BRUCE WILLIS: Before he blew up with the Moonlighting TV Series, we did a Miami Vice Episode titled “No Exit”.
MADONNA: I had a featured role in the film “Who’s That Girl" starring Madonna.
SALMA HAYEK: Got to meet and work with Salma on the film “54”. We did a few friendly purely innocent hangs. Enough said I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.

This album and the single hit from it was such a breath of fresh air in the 70’s. I remember my mother’s reaction to CCLF when she heard it on the radio.
Actually, this is the third album on which the promo is based. The one you are referring to is our debut album. Still cheers for you sharing that and God bless your mom.

Thanks for the behind the scenes scene!! You know I wish there was someone I could ask a question to. Someone involved in the Album in question. Someone with insight. Its a question about the song, “Once there was a colored girl” which has a chorus sung and harmonized so beautifully but so curious is the subject of said chorus. I wish I knew more. Its a strange sing along😂

If you don't mind me asking what is the story behind the item hanging on the wall between the door & the picture?

As far as the item ...actually there are several grouped together. An African Shekere music instrument; a Foot Rattle that can also be worn on the wrist; a single Maracas; an American Indian ceremonial shaker; a doggie hand puppet; a Peruvian knife and last but not least an autographed photo from Madonna.
As far as the specific stories behind each item .... well that is a book in itself (-:
