thanks for the video but there is a reason why you should keep the rebellion in your arsenal and that is the round trip! Having DSDs Round Trips followed by Rebellion and Sparda's Round Trip ads some sweet damage (always perform the DSD Round Trips first!)
They should of made all three swords unique. Sparda should have the moves it has in DMC4. V Divider, the crowd control Round Trip, Drive and Overdrive too. Rebellion should be faster and have Drive and Overdrive. DSD should be a mix of both with the summoned swords a style instead of replacing the normal Swordmaster moves. Shame they didn't put more effort in
Yakuza Shibe you’re very wrong tho.. I’m guessing you have not dived deep into the full capabilities of DSD because not only is it a mixture of Sparda and Rebellion (literally) it has its own unique moveset the only things it really copies are the standard sword moveset for dance everything else is completely original and the Swords formation is the most OP thing in the game since it’s not just restricted to DSD but just like Dante absorbing devil arms Swords formation fuses with the devil arms as well And with DT it’s not even fair plus all the styles now also act as moveset for DSD technically.. it’s murder
@@Jay-hb3ix It doesn't have a unique moveset, it shares Rebellion/Sparda moves with Swordmaster moves added in. I'm saying that if Sparda had unique moves, then DSD should have them too. i hate that rebellion now is pointless in gameplay my sword equip right now is DSD - Sparda - Cerberus - Balrog - Cavaliere R i wish they did more moves to rebellion so i have the will to equip it more like i wish they added moves to rebellion from dmc 3 "sword pierce" and from dmc 2 boomerang round trip (attack while playing in DT) and i wish they did more "new" or "innovative" moves for the DSD because the sword attacks are the same thing as the other two swords
Juceyuna dmc There’s a mod for Rebellion as a skin for DSD complete with a glowing red effect for DSD moves and cutscene support. It makes the Vergil fights and scenes a hell of a lot more hype
Van Maul yea it sucks like it should be a default to do that i wish For DSD they invented a new overdrive not just a copy paste from past games Like A four wave overdrive 1 Default and 3 waves while teleporting left right then centre to me thw swords in dmc 5 are just not inventive enough luckily we got 4 melee weapons
And once again you do the research that I was far too lazy to do myself! Thanks a bunch, it's about what i expected. The transformation moves do more damage on Sparda. It's nice to know to which degree tho, and the round trip range thing was interesting. Also swagger ending combo with the round trip wiff that catches on the rebound. Very slick, super cas', no flexing. Was a bit surprised to know the base damages for basic attacks are all the same. Heresay was that DSD was a bit stronger across the board but looks like it's not!
Me when he throw that round trip in the end :"well he missed i guess it didn't go as planned" Me later realizing that it will be coming back :"AIN'T NO WAY "
I figured you'd mention how some inputs are different. I was pretty sad to see Dance Macabre not be usable on DSD until someone told me that I have to do back forward style instead of just back style
I literally love the fact that we think about it that's part of it was meant to be a sword that can literally take on many different shapes and forms and it's too bad that it didn't really get to be used in the right type of way that I felt that it could have been used especially in devil May cry 1 2 and and 4 because there was so much potential for it to be used by not just Trish as someone who can actually use it but Don t as well and for it to be given its own movesetlike imagine this being like the old German sword every game in devil May cry and you just smashing do every boss every demon like there's no tomorrow because it would just be wickedly strong and overpowering but that's like the only reason I could see why the Creator didn't want the sword to overshadow your actual sword which we meet Dante's rebellion or Alistair which is kind of weird that rebellion was never showed inside number one but I understand at the time the game was just starting out with its own storyline
Weird thing tho, why is it that Sparda deals more damage than DSD (in terms of some moves, not full combos) even tho DSD is literally the fusion of Sparda and Rebellion?
Probably worth pointing out that DSD also doesn’t need Swordmaster to use air combos while Rebelion and Sparda can only use Helm Splitter without Swordmaster
You can. SDT is charged by your normal Dt gauge. you dont need to have DSD equiped, you just need to sacrifice you normal DT for SDT. Just the animation shows Dante stabing himself with DSD but in the end, its not a requirement
DSD is better in general because of the versatility that it offers, because it can do some things that the other swords can't, after that is sparda, because it deals more damage, but only that
i personally prefer using sparda and dante as swords along with cavalry and cerberus (cant handle balrog that well sadly). DSS makes it easier for me to pull the "dance makabre" combo off and for general fighting use. DSD I use for its summon combos like the 4 spinning swords or for a, out of swordmaster, airial rave and for its primary benefit, its extra swords durring devil trigger (you can have those even if not using DSD) which are a gift from the DMC gods. cerberus primarily as a parry weapon vs things like, well everything (mostly furys), and cavalry mostly for airborne enemies or breaking through defences such as Chaos armor or the knights.
I had to rewind so much to figure how tf you used drive, because I have it bought and equipped, but I still havent been able to pull it off, I always end up sitting there aiming at the enemy with the guns drawn and the dsd sword formation attack charging up
almost a year late, but, with irregular full custom, DSD round trip can replace guns against enemies like the spikey spinners. If you can only pick between swords or cavelier, which would you choose?
Aight I'mma say it..... Devil Sword Dante is literally the best sword in DMC thus far. Alastor was dope, Rebellion was cool, Sparda was great. But Devil Sword Dante completely outshines them all. Words cannot express how grateful I was to have that as our "New Main Blade". Plus Dante can use Summoned Swords now, and abuse the all the broken-ass mechanics that Vergil could back in DMC 3. And don't even get me started on Sin Devil Trigger.....
Awesome video! Glad to finally know which was the best overall; DSD Summoned Swords bailed me out against Vergil XD Question for you guys since I currently don't have access to the game: If I use Round Trip with Sparda and THEN switch to DSD to add to the combo, will it just disappear, or will it keep shredding and then come back to me after a couple of seconds?
ダンテブラックDante Black beat son of spades then you go to abilities and there’s a new movie it cost 100 red orbs it gives u the option to put on every item at once
Being able to cancel all knockback and redirect an enemy's position mid combo with the press of a button while not having to even move your character is much better than premade combo fluff. 7:25 is the stuff of legends and it only works because it was built on alteady established and extremely refined mechanics. DMC4 Rebbelion was perfect by being awesome for every situation, be it aerial for that rave or mid to long range for drive/quick drive and roundtrip not to mention its ground combos, it was the most reliable and versatile weapon in the genre.
I'm sad sparda and rebellion don't carry the same weight as they used to. Rebellion had drive and looked more cool in dmc3/4 and Sparda was God-like in dmc1 when you had it's DT. I wish the DT woulda at least changed a bit, but I guess if the amulet isn't paired with it, (I think Trish might have it) then maybe it's full power isnt unlocked. Which brings up a question... Where is the amulet? Does vergil have it since he got Trish, or does Trish still have it?
could you maybe do a video detailing all the list of abilities that get extra powered up by dantes DT? like cerberus swordmaster back o combo, or cavaliere full throttle i always forget the whole list
Theres not enough DT moves to warrant a whole video, so a list is a better idea. The DT moves are: Swords: Stinger King Cerberus: Hot stuff King Cerberus: Percussion King Cerberus: Revolver Cavaliere: Full Throttle Cavaliere: Combo A
You can do by either quick switching to dsd just for its sword master action while already doing an attack with another weapon. OR hold down attack button with dsd to get summon swords buff (consumes 2 dt bars) which works with every weapon.
Quick drive isn’t in the skill list.

Shame they didn't put more effort in
Yakuza Shibe completely agree
You got that right
Yakuza Shibe you’re very wrong tho.. I’m guessing you have not dived deep into the full capabilities of DSD because not only is it a mixture of Sparda and Rebellion (literally) it has its own unique moveset the only things it really copies are the standard sword moveset for dance everything else is completely original and the Swords formation is the most OP thing in the game since it’s not just restricted to DSD but just like Dante absorbing devil arms Swords formation fuses with the devil arms as well
And with DT it’s not even fair plus all the styles now also act as moveset for DSD technically.. it’s murder
@@Jay-hb3ix It doesn't have a unique moveset, it shares Rebellion/Sparda moves with Swordmaster moves added in. I'm saying that if Sparda had unique moves, then DSD should have them too. Nothing stops summoned swords from being a style, especially saying Dante doesn't have Darkslayer anymore. I know how DSD works, no need to tell me
@@Jay-hb3ix And to add onto that, the styles don't act as "movesets" at all. Gunslinger automatically shoots swords, Trickster moves the swords when you dash, Royalguard gives you a shield, and Swordmaster adds the swords to your attacks
Well since Dante absorbed rebellion. It is technically always with him.
Hey man, nice video as always
Can you make a guide on how to effectively deal with king cerbs (especially in higher difficulty?) Particularly with dante.
Thanks in advance:)
Sparda continuing to show how rad it is. Shame Dante cant do half the things Trish does. He just uses it like a sword, she turns it into an art
7:37 the end to that combo was funny AF. Nice one.
Ultimately devil sword makes Dante versatile the most: triple jumps, hit multiple enemies at once, auto-fire etc... just GREAT
They should have gave Rebellion moves from DMC 3 & shouldn't have removed Overdrive from it to only keep exclusive to DSD, it was available in the previous games on Rebellion.
Thanks for mathematically showing my I'm not gimping myself to much by using rebellion
Honestly, they could have made Drive for Rebellion and Sparda. Just hold Y/Triangle to charge, like in 3.
i hate that rebellion now is pointless in gameplay
my sword equip right now is DSD - Sparda - Cerberus - Balrog - Cavaliere R
i wish they did more moves to rebellion so i have the will to equip it more
like i wish they added moves to rebellion from dmc 3 "sword pierce" and from dmc 2 boomerang round trip (attack while playing in DT)
and i wish they did more "new" or "innovative" moves for the DSD because the sword attacks are the same thing as the other two swords
Juceyuna dmc There’s a mod for Rebellion as a skin for DSD complete with a glowing red effect for DSD moves and cutscene support. It makes the Vergil fights and scenes a hell of a lot more hype
Ali Baba i play on ps4 tho not pc master race rip
I'm also mad that the Drive and Over Drive moves in DMC5 are now only for DSD instead of Rebellion and Sparda sword.
Van Maul yea it sucks
like it should be a default to do that
i wish For DSD they invented a new overdrive not just a copy paste from past games
Like A four wave overdrive
1 Default and 3 waves while teleporting left right then centre
to me thw swords in dmc 5 are just not inventive enough
luckily we got 4 melee weapons
@@juceyunadmc1919 still prefer Drive or Overdrive tho. Mainly cuz its a long range moves and looks cool as hell doing it.
As a DMC 1 player I'm really happy they didn't abandon the Sparda sword like they did with the Alastor.
I woulda trade DSD with Sparda if only the scythe's design is different or as badass as Rebellion!!!
Cav overlaps a lot with Cerb/Balrog for me so I think I’ll take DSD/Sparda/Balrog/Cerb
wait, dante can do quick drive? what???
Hu?
And once again you do the research that I was far too lazy to do myself! Thanks a bunch, it's about what i expected. The transformation moves do more damage on Sparda. It's nice to know to which degree tho, and the round trip range thing was interesting. Also swagger ending combo with the round trip wiff that catches on the rebound. Very slick, super cas', no flexing. Was a bit surprised to know the base damages for basic attacks are all the same. Heresay was that DSD was a bit stronger across the board but looks like it's not!
Me when he throw that round trip in the end :"well he missed i guess it didn't go as planned"
Me later realizing that it will be coming back :"AIN'T NO WAY "
When you switch from DSD to rebellion, it's literally DSD degraded, lol
I figured you'd mention how some inputs are different. I was pretty sad to see Dance Macabre not be usable on DSD until someone told me that I have to do back forward style instead of just back style
To be fair we should already know why it calls Sparda for a reason.
Awesome video I like it
I hated the prop move because the enemy will be sent flying before the blade even stops spinning
I thought i was pretty good on dmc until i saw your combos lol
Weird thing tho, why is it that Sparda deals more damage than DSD (in terms of some moves, not full combos) even tho DSD is literally the fusion of Sparda and Rebellion?
The DSD is just the true weapon of Dante not a fusion of rebellion and Devil Sword Sparda
Always love your video
Probably worth pointing out that DSD also doesn’t need Swordmaster to use air combos while Rebelion and Sparda can only use Helm Splitter without Swordmaster
I always screw up using aerial rave instead of helmsplitter coz of that
Veterans aren't gonna have a problem with that though. Some even prefers having Aerial Rave be locked to Swordmaster
@@td984 I guess that's why a lot of combo videos shows more Sparda than DSD
@@hrgaming4plebs570 it's muscle memory at this point lol
@@td984 yeah, retraining it can be hard for some
So basically the Sparda sword is still stronger even when combined with rebellion to form DSD? Not sure how that works but alright Capcom
Gameplay balance i guess
In lore dsd is definitely stronger
I'd imagine that a Scythe would do more damage than a sword
i never noticed the devil sword sparta extended xD
I get why, but I wish you could charge sin DT even without the DSD.
Can anyone tell me how to unlock all the swords so I can use only the 3 swords having trouble finding out how to do so?
Just have to finish the game i think.
I hope Capcom atleast gives us legendary dark knight difficulty
There will be no dlc for DMC5.
@@КонстантинПаршуков-о6б special edition is tradition
You forgot the Dance Macabre for Devil Sword Dante. It's back, forward then the style button on sword master.
I didnt forget it, it just does the same damage as DSD so I didnt show it. Its Sparda/DSD at 4:22
@@conqvistguides7313 Ahh. I see. Sorry man
I had to rewind so much to figure how tf you used drive, because I have it bought and equipped, but I still havent been able to pull it off, I always end up sitting there aiming at the enemy with the guns drawn and the dsd sword formation attack charging up
what an amazing video! Thank you my firend
Kinda sad they made Rebellion obsolete, Had so much memories with that sword on 3 and 4
i just love devil sword dante cause it gives me flying swords
i really need to learn how to use the summoned swords...
How do equip all 3 swords?
almost a year late, but, with irregular full custom, DSD round trip can replace guns against enemies like the spikey spinners.
If you can only pick between swords or cavelier, which would you choose?
Look how they massacred our rebellion.
There's a mod for DMC5 PC that restores Drive to Rebellion.
Just saying, DSD could've had prop if they either put it on style+melee, or put drive on style+melee and given prop to back-forward + melee
Sparse reminds me of Knightmare from soul calibur. Awesome
Truest words in this comment section
Conclusion: use Sparda as a replacement DSD in the Strive mod
Awesome video! Glad to finally know which was the best overall; DSD Summoned Swords bailed me out against Vergil XD
Question for you guys since I currently don't have access to the game:
If I use Round Trip with Sparda and THEN switch to DSD to add to the combo, will it just disappear, or will it keep shredding and then come back to me after a couple of seconds?
No it will it stay the normal length. Its posible to have rebellion round trip, sparda round trip, and dsd round trips, hitting all at the same time.
@@conqvistguides7313 That's AMAZING! I love how this game gives you so many options for destructive creativity
As someone who plain sucks with Dante, guess I will use Sparda then -tho having a boomerang like claymore is awesome lmao-
I love all three swords but the rebellion is amazing but my curiosity is can you equip all three on the same set or is that just a mod
Its not a mod this is the ps4 version. You need to unlock the ability to equip them by beating a difficulty. Think its SOS
How can i carry The 3 swords? The game do not let me do that, i only can carry 4 weapons, 1 sword, Cavaliere, Balrog and K.Cerberus.
ダンテブラックDante Black best sos
@@dahooper2118 What do you mean?
ダンテブラックDante Black beat son of spades then you go to abilities and there’s a new movie it cost 100 red orbs it gives u the option to put on every item at once
@@dahooper2118 oh; thanks bro :)
ダンテブラックDante Black it’s called irregular custom btw
Rebellion stills the best companion , great video and skills btw
I love the hell outta this game but I can't help but wish they did more with DSD. I was hoping for a new move list honestly.
Both amulets are in Sparda. Or else it would be Force Edge.

Oh, you're right, I just checked.
could you maybe do a video detailing all the list of abilities that get extra powered up by dantes DT? like cerberus swordmaster back o combo, or cavaliere full throttle i always forget the whole list
Theres not enough DT moves to warrant a whole video, so a list is a better idea. The DT moves are:
Swords: Stinger
King Cerberus: Hot stuff
King Cerberus: Percussion
King Cerberus: Revolver
Cavaliere: Full Throttle
Cavaliere: Combo A

I got all the three swords i don't care XD
Wow, you're so cool
Nice dude

Dante:

How did you summon the swords with Sparda ???
You can do by either quick switching to dsd just for its sword master action while already doing an attack with another weapon. OR hold down attack button with dsd to get summon swords buff (consumes 2 dt bars) which works with every weapon.
How to play with rebellion again?
