mild panic about the concept of Kirby eating Kirby... I think it would create a Klein bottle situation of the infinite void that is Kirby's stomach turning in on itself.

I was tripping when the story for God's Teeth went to Miami. I ran the Blue Lady of the street folklore as a thing in my Changeling the Dreaming game over ten years ago. It was super satisfying to see Caleb's story mirror my own in many ways and to see the call back to the source material in the folklore.

What a cool coincidence. Great minds clearly think alike!

Re: party size. Is a two-agent DG game viable? If so, what would be your advice for making it work?

Check out the scenario Meridian it's explicitly designed for two agents.
I definitely think there's a benefit to two-agent games because you have a lot more time to dig into their bonds.
I'd also fill up the extra time you get from having a lean crew with lots of extra sensory details.
I also think it's easier to make a two-agent crew feel spooked. More people means more shenanigans.

Thanks for the reply. I've had mixed success with smaller groups in other games. More time on the spotlight is always better for players (more home scenes, yay!); on the other hand, the gaps in their combined skill sets are sometimes too big (this I've noticed in games with more role specialization). In DG it feels like a two-agent cell (is that even a thing?) would have to rely on NPC friendlies quite a lot.

@@thirsk Hmm yeah interesting point. I guess the gaps in role specialisation depend on what scenarios you're running for them. You can always try to put a spin on existing modules to tailor it to their skillset rather than run it straight as written. Ie. You've got a nuclear scientist, give the baddies a teleport ritual that uses radioactive elements or something.
I think the two-agent setup could be made to work for operations like Last Equation or Victim of The Art or God's Eye where you can lean on the regular police doing the legwork while the agents fuck up the evidence chain/pursue an alternative goal.

You can absolutely run several scenarios with only two agents. Besides Meridian, friend of the show Eric of Nature of my game, spoke to us at length about running Puppet Shows and Shadow Plays with only two agents. Some scenarios might require adjusting the difficulty but that tension will be high with such a small party. Thanks for watching and inspiring the discussion!
