These commentaries are GOLD
3 days ago it was made 1 day ago
Agreed, I actually enjoy these more than the actual show lmao... course I've seen the normal Survivorman episodes so many times, these are like new episodes to me.
I think we would love a SAR series. Super exciting to watch
My brother-in-law does SaR and is also an EMT. He has had some amazing experiences helping people during their worst day.
Whenever we're together and his radio squawks, calling him in, I always tell him thank you.
And thank you to all who serve and help! You are appreciated ❤
Beyond the Lightest stage is one of the greatest rock documentaries of all time, period. I appreciate that shout out Les! RIP Neil!
Les Stroud, I just wanted to tell you how thankful I am for you and your channel. I'm currently waiting to have my 3rd hip replacement at 26 years old due to a military incident. I have been a fan for as long as I can remember, and have enjoyed watching and rewatching all of your content. Definitely has made this struggle better for me. Keep doing what you're doing man!
Thank you for your service, and your sacrifice. Hopefully the hip ends up being stronger in the long run. Keep up with that physical therapy, it is so darn important! ✌️😊✌️
There is a very high quality new design hip replacement about to be approved…..a reverse hip. Check it out! I am waiting till it is approved.
@@RealBradMiller go to orthospinenews and check out the reverse hip replacement
Thank you for your service
Out of curiosity may I ask what country you represent?
I really hope Les Stroud's Search and Rescue finds a home. I'd watch the heck out of that series. Amazing stuff, Les! And, thank you for these commentaries!
When I was a marine, I carried two garbage bags and an emergency blanket in my right trouser pocket for years. They saved my many times. For almost no cost and weight you have an emergency shelter and rain catcher that help you through the first night.
Take a drink ever time Les says I digress 😂
I would totally watch search and rescue.
Les is Les’s biggest fan. I respect his skills and enjoy the show but he has an attitude that he is a gift from the survival Gods.
Les, me and my wife are so happy that Dr Jellyfinger went really gentle with your procedure . We luv ya Les
"Gather up your possibles" is from 'The Alamo' with John Wayne. Thank you for being an inspiration, sir!
if you aren't par-taking with your morning coffee and watching surviovorman on youtube reminiscing your childhood, you're doing it wrong
Romania looks like a beautiful place.
It absolutely is (one of my college roommates was Romanian, he had pictures!). Still a *lot* of poverty in the rural areas, though. A lot of people still have to move abroad to find work.
And if you're in Bucharest, the unfinished palace of the parliament that Ceausescu started and never finished is well worth seeing- it's MASSIVE (the current parliament of Romania uses it and doesn't even occupy 30% of it, and remember it wasn't even finished!) and some parts of it are weird as heck like a nuclear bunker and impossibly narrow staircases, but it's also gorgeous.
Les, that Search And Rescue show looks absolutely amazing!! I've been a fan nearly my whole life and it brings me so much joy to see one of my childhood heroes still marching on after all these years!
Funny, I just got a temporary prescription for 1g/day of cannabis to treat muscle spasms. I'm watching this under the influence and having a really good time! Thank you Les for the great content you continue to publish for us!
I hope your test went well, sir, and you're the G.O.A.T Les.
Survivorman, this is so good. Couldn't wait for this premier. Pure gold for survival tactics. In this world full of conveniences.
As someone who’s missing a leg but loves hiking and camping I loved this episode! I would love to have Les give more tips for people who may have disabilities who dare venture out and camp/hike.
Thanks for the awesome commentary as always and that SAR pitch looked amazing, I hope it turns into something more.
Thanks for another great director commentary.
Never Cry Wolf. I forgot how good that movie is.
Les stroud I have been watching you forever my friend. You have inspired me so much to go out in nature but also be safe and aware while in nature. Thank you Les for everything you do!
By far one of my top favorite shows to watch, EVER! I have rewatch the episodes a few times. ❤
"I... Am high."
Les you fricken legend. Lmao.
Been on a Survivorman binge lately. One of my childhood favorites! Love ya Les!!!❤ thank you for all of your wonderful wisdom. My TV Dad.
The retrospective insight available through your commentary is priceless!
I've been wanting to rewatch Death Hunt with Charles Bronson, Lee Marvin and Carl Weathers about the Royal Canadian Mounted Police pursuit of Bronson's character through the Yukon territory while living off the land. All great movies.
Discovery Channel passed on search and rescue? That teaser pitch clip was epic!
I had to replay that intro lol. I was like did he seriously just r open with “I am high”? lol love you Les!
These are my new favorite thing to watch. I watched your shows ever since the beginning when I was about 9-10. They really kept me keep a passion for being outdoors and really helped keep me in Boy Scouts all the way to becoming an Eagle Scout! You’re the best Les glad the colonoscopy went well and keep up the amazing work!
My father died from Colon Cancer I'm glad you got yourself checked out Les! much love
I'd really love a podcast or one off episode of Les just talking about his favorite movies, maybe a top 10 list or something. Same with his favorite music. I really enjoyed that little tangent in this video.
This commentary inspired me to seek out volunteer status among an SAR team. Even if any bush big enough to be good and lost in is a 3-6 hour drive from me (chicago area) there's no reason I shouldn't be on their list with my growing skillset. Also we need more of your favorite movies and music n such, its a joy to know the indoor side of you too Les.
Damn 12hrs!! I keep checking how much longer 😂😂 !! Keep'em coming Les!! Been a fan since the beginning, and have always stayed interested. My kids also learned from you, and still fallow. They were stoked when you had a show involving kids, way back. Thanks for the commentaries!! Please do more!!
Jeremiah Johnson is the movie. He says it when Dale and him are about to go down and get his possible from the native americans. I love that movie, one of m favorites lol
My dad died from colon cancer. Dig your work Les, nothing but respect brother 💪
Les, it's so funny that you just mentioned hiking poles in this video. Just before watching this video I finished a 3 hour hike and was just thinking the exact same thoughts on that hike about my hiking poles. I've used them a bit in the past, but I've been using them more and more this year, even though I'm a fit and young guy who used to scoff at people using them. Oh how wrong I was.
You nailed it, they're incredibly useful. I would actually say they make it more like 30% easier to hike up and down hills with, to be honest. The added benefit also is not twisting your ankles as much. If you do and it results in a severely injured or broken ankle, you would have two hiking poles that are incredibly useful; One for a splint, and the other to assist with walking.
I highly recommend them to anyone that doesn't currently use them.
Edit: I paused the video to write this and after resuming saw you demonstrated what I just said about the splint. Great minds think alike! Lol
Greetings from Micronesia
I grew up on these videos. So happy to have them on YT with your commentary for free. Hope you do some more Wild Harvest episodes. Really enjoyed those.
Ironically, the situation that got me completely involved in survival and ways to survive...was a kid that got lost following his dog in the winter. He was found but 100yards from his house he was dead. Les changed how to look at survival in a monstrous way. He's the original.
Les, keep doing what you're doing, I can't wait to get involved in search and rescue once we move.
Love me some John Wayne in Hatari with Red Buttons and the Baby Elephant Walk music... Being an Aussie, we love our sarcastic humour too!!! LOL
Love this commentary so much. I'm glad You're doing well Les! I hope you come to Chicago for your music tour. would love to see you. Thanks!
Just now enjoying this at my camp testing out my second Starlink. Was too busy last night (May 10th 2024) watching the lights of the solar storm
I'm so stoked!!
Search and rescue was awesome
Les you never let me down. You are the Man!
If anyone can give me the courage to do the same procedure this week (nay. To survive it..), it’s you. Thank you for your continued guidance.
Ahhh Les Stroud, longtime fan, he's as gorgeous and sexy and fascinating as ever. Bravo Sir, thank you for all you do! 🙌🤘
Love this series -- been a long time fan, incredibly useful knowledge for anyone in an unknown scenario. Keep up the good work man!
Oh, this commentary was filmed in February, so surely your colonoscopy came out clear! Figured it was filmed in advance, but wasn't sure quite how long, and of course you're on top of things. ✌️
I was a kid watching you on tv alone..
I'm 47 now.. you're always in my heart
I make sure to watch all your available episodes once a year. Now with the director's commentaries, they're even better and informative
I hope I don't ever have to get a rescue but if I do and I see Less Stroud's face. I will be overjoyed with excitement, that I'm rescued.
And by Less.😊❤
Recently found your UA-cam channel! I remember watching you all through grade school as a young kid. My teacher, Mr. Prock, thought you were the best because you are the only real deal. So much respect and love for you, sir. I'm happy to see you doing amazingly! 👏 ❤
Les did you ever see a film called "Snow Walker" based on a Farley Mowat story. Canadian production. Relatively small budget film but I found it pretty moving and it touches on a lot of aspects of survival (mindset and indigenous techniques etc)
Your reference to water walker made me think of it
You are HILARIOUS Les! Stoned on K, doing a commentary... LEGEND😂❤
The Search and Rescue show looks great!!!
I'd definitely watch a SAR show, fantastic idea
Sending my respect to you my friend. God bless and take care
That new Search and Rescue show seems fucking amazing!
Days made better by Les!
I appreciate you Les!
I like Survivorman but these commentaries are even better.
Search And Rescue sounds awesome. I think a lot of good could come from such a program. Thanks for sharing your videos and insights.
Les is hilarious! Love your shows and your music! Thank you for all the years of great content with integrity!
I love your show less and I love these directors commentaries just to hear your insite and all your cool stories keep kicking ass
much love for u an loved ones, love u les
Les is hilarious. I love to watch Survivorman while stoned. I get zoned in and remember his survival tips and advice. And, yes, Barry's editing is perfect for that state of mind. 😂
I'm loving these director's commentaries. I'm excited to see the Search and Rescue series. I think I've watched everything you've done. While I initially got into you as a kid because survival interested me, I think my favorite series has been Beyond Survival as an adult. I love learning about other cultures. The common current of respect and love for nature is something I connect to. I experience God the strongest when I'm in creation so I've always really loved the vibes and practical knowledge you teach. I love the respect you have for other cultures and beliefs too.
Hi Les,
You live in a cool place ;;)) I've never been to Canada yet. It's in my bucket list.
Have a nice day 🥰🥰
These are the best, 1m subscribers in no time! Get ready to get surviving Les! 😅
Awesome commentary, Les! And a great episode
I like the injury episodes good learning for people
Love your channel
About to turn 40 here, was considering looking into (no pun intended) getting my first colonoscopy done. Thanks, Les.
I just recently stumbled across your UA-cam channel and Im excited to watch through your backlog. I used to watch you and recommend you to my friends over other shows that claimed to be survival. And then I got into Bigfoot and started watching your episodes on that as well. Love all your work!
I just absolutely love this directors commentaries, so much info about the og survivalist on tv, that so many of us watch growing up, i remember this one with passion, because of the end, the search and rescue team, the equipment just to bring you safe, just amazing to known about that the language barrier was the principal reason to not tell them, amazing!!!
Best commentary yet
I'm currently barbecued from weed watching this and it's awesome 😂
Condone away, completely legal here. 🙂
Great commentary, as usual.
Les Stroud. The Man, The Myth, The Beast.
Hi Les, I really love the idea of the Search and rescue documentation as that is what most people would rely on. Just knowing what exists and how to be found, how to inform people such that one can be better found when lost. If you are still into survival and go for these training things, I would love to see you act as an "educated" hiker that knows he will have to make it as easy for SAR as possible to find him and how to identify asap that one is lost to make the earliest effort possible. Best and absolutely love your commentaries :)
Edit: I don't know if this would make sense. If the rescue team works off of "normal" behaviour and now there is a person doing atypical stuff, I don't know if that would actually help, as you are not really allowing for existing patterns to be applicable. Just an afterthought on what I wish for XD
Hi Les , I'm glad you have this channel. I bought all your recent CD collections. Come to Calgary for concert.
Love how open you are about having a colonoscopy! Hopefully, people will be inspired to go get help 😊
Love this!🔥
Rush is one of my favorite bands🤘
I would binge watch a search and rescue show like that over and over again like I do with survivor man. Someone better pick up your pitch because I am now looking forward to it.
4:00 in the morning over here in Ohio and this is one of the best episodes did I really enjoy watching probably won't be able to sleep after this maybe I'll watch another episode if I can't sleep stay warm
I love ya Mr. Les Stroud. I enjoy watching what u do. Ur show and Ur commentary. Ur next adventure should be to where the holy Grail is. Live forever sir. Don't ever die
I have always loved watching your adventures ❤
I want Les Stroud SAR!!

You can always count on him to have his drink lol 😊
You're awesome man 😎👍
I always loved your content.
Ketamine IS awesome! :D I've had it three times, for shoulder manipulation/surgery, and each time was a total blast.
I can't wait for more Les, lets go. Your shows have inspired many an will more with search and rescue.
Awesome
Cheers!
