    just saying: If your plants are stressed, they give off pheremones that tell the bugs to come get it. Just be mindful that a healthy plant is a resistant plant.

    Oh cool!! My rehab centre opened o a few days ago. I’ll try perlite in a zip lock bag! Thanks for the tips…. At least now I know a time frame, thank you!

      I feel like I always have a rehab center open for some type of plant.

    I may try this! My dragon scale would only grow 3 leaves and one was always limp and brown. I used a clear plastic cup with a lid (from taco bell) then filled it with perlite and water. I put the corms in the top of the perlite and I have a plant with two baby leaves. Folks can use your clear fountain drink cups. Recycle! Great video!

    Well done! I love seeing plants brought back from the brink. The truth is all plants want to survive, but it comes down to us as plant stewards to reproduce their native habitats so they can have a fighting chance to thrive and be at their best. 👍

    This is gold! Mine is misbehaving lately and I think is because of the heatwave, drastic changes in temperature and I overwatered it so she got a little bit of root rot. Can they be kept in perlite?

    I am currently keeping my Alocasia Cuprea Red Secret in dormancy. It went dormant on me back in October or so. It did not like coming from a greenhouse environment to my fall/winter environment and slowly started to lose its leaves. I am just watering it a bit at a time, but closer during spring I'll most likely revive it in water or perlite.
    My Alocasia Silver Dragon is loving life at the moment. I got it back in September from a local orchard and it has been doing really well for me. I'm assuming since she was already a pretty mature plant and being around the same environment (aka. same state), she wasn't too affected from the fall and winter. I recently repotted her since she was very root bound and harvested some corms that are just now started to poke some roots in water.
    Winter in my part of the state in Pennsylvania has been very mild this year. We barely had 2 inches of snow all winter long. xD

    Just chopped a PPP! So needed this video. Can I use a regular cup or do I need the same one you have?

    • @LadyLoriofPlants
      @LadyLoriofPlants  Рік тому +2

      You need a cup with holes in it so the roots can be trying to reach the water at the bottom of the bag.

    Please don’t cut a plant that’s dry like that. Just gently peel off the old and dead leaves. There may be a growth point in there that’s still alive and you’re just killing it with the cutting

    Do you have issues with the pegboard in the cabinet? I’ve heard they can get moldy sometimes? Just wanna know cuz it looks fire and wanna try it myself.

    • @LadyLoriofPlants
      @LadyLoriofPlants  Рік тому +2

      I sprayed them with a sealant to prevent molding.

    • @LadyLoriofPlants
      @LadyLoriofPlants  Рік тому +2

      Also if you have a fan it helps keep the mold away by circulating the air.
