I'm looking to make an 8 fixture DIY LED tube lighting set up using the LED tape with a 32 ch DMX decoder and a 12v 30a power supply. Only issue is it would be getting set up and taken down each event, so I'm not sure how the cables will hold up over time within the wire loom. I was thinking of putting the DMX decoder and power supply in a wooden box, then have 5 pin connector sockets on the outside of the box, but I was wondering if 5-pin DMX cables could be used to feed the LED tubes? Or does it have to be the LED strip lights wire?
i saw the last video of the drum enclosure,,,,use closet rails to make it easier to open from the top and bottom, 60 bucks at home depot with hardware.
this is awesome! I'm going to be in EMU or Lightkey (haven't picked a lighting controller yet) will this setup work with those and the ADJ ED15 dimmer DMX you'all are using? what fixture preset might this be or maybe just a custom on with dimming only ya?
It’s been so long now that I don’t quite remember how we set it up - I believe we had to create a custom light in the software. But the setup should still work!
Hey guys great content, im new to lighting and would like to learn how to do effects with the led tape like you did at the beginning of the video when they would turn on and off in a cool way. What is that called? Any tips would be appreciated, im using MagicQ PC.
Hey, thanks! That’s just an effect preset in our lighting software (my dmx by adj). Most software should have different effect presets you can add for different lights.
Sorry for the late response! Ours was the LG HF85JA Ultra Short Throw Laser projector (out of date now). But tbh we were never impressed with it for the price we paid ( I think around $1700) at the time. It was not very bright output.
Does each of the 32 channels (8) ports send 512 addresses? I’m a little confused. If `dmx is only 512, how are you sending more? Do those ports act as separate Lumniverse?
Hi! Question, we have a similar set up. Did you find that your connection interfered with your sound system? It created a buzz for us. Curious if you had that issue.
We do have a slight hum/buzz that changes intensity and frequency when the level of or lights change, but it is very slight. It has to do with running your lights and speakers on the same electrical breaker. Most places are wired in groups geographically within the building, so to have separate breakers for lights/audio equipment is rare and something you have to be really intentional about when setting up your system. Other things that can contribute to the problem is having cords with electrical current running through them touching or laying over instrument cables or mic cables.
Ooh that's hard to say since things like the bulbs and clear saucers were bought in packs, and the dimmers and led drivers all run a specific number of lights.
I'd say come up with your ideal design and price out about how much it would cost to do that then adjust from there in terms of number of fixtures and such
That sounds like it might be a power issue. I’m not sure why using a 100ft dmx cord would cause that though as they’re not carrying power. Do you have a video of what it’s doing so I could get a better idea?

If you solder it up correctly, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Sounds like a good idea to me in theory
This is AWESOME!! y'all keep it up

Can we see more videos like this please?
I think Hunter has some more videos planned! Some gear reviews but also maybe some church tech walk throughs as well.
Hey team. We have a similar size stage. Height also. Can you share what projector you use or can you make a tech tour video please.

Amazing!!
love love love the creativity--wonderful job! What screen are you using in the background? And projector?

Whats the difference with using the V and U shape? Are you using both or is it just a preference?
Whatever works best for your situation!
Productions ideas 😊
Approximately what was the price per on the spots and the strips? I want to do this for my youth room but I'm trying to figure out a budget lol

@@WeTalkTone yeah gotcha! Makes sense lol

@@WeTalkTone thanks!
@@WeTalkTone To save some money would you say that bypassing the DMX control Just using remotes to set stagnant colors) would even be viable?
PLEASE HELP when I connect everything it works but anytime I use a 100 ft dmx cable the lights flash, I tried different cords to no avail.

What Church Are You In?
Greek
Great video, as an Amazon seller, can I cooperate with you?
That depends. What does that mean?
@@WeTalkTone I think they are asking for a partnership.
