    Napkin holder would make a wonderful hanging/swinging platform. Same with the seagrass baskets. I could see fixing them to the wall by the bottom of the basket and having a series of "tire" shaped seagrass hides on the wall of the cage

    hi emi!! I recently got two female mice, and i love them to bits. your videos have been super helpful!!! i was wondering if you have noticed that female mice are less inclined to run on their wheels than males are? i had a male before my two girls, he was constantly running on his wheel, but these girls have barely touched their wheel. i have given them different size options and type options but have yet to see them run on any of them lol has this been the case for your female mice as well?

    • @abandonedchannel8462
      @abandonedchannel8462 3 роки тому +2

      It could be a lot of things
      Maybe they were bought from somewhere where they didn't have wheels and aren't used to them?
      My female likes to run on her wheel at night so maybe it could be that they use it when you're sleeping too.
      It could also be that they might not have any enrichment other than their wheel (which is very boring for your mice and causes them to not want to do anything)

    I LOVE the small Variera shelves! (3:16) You can't really see how they work in this video, but they come with screws so you can put two of them together to make a tall but very stable platform for the mice. I use it for some climbing space, and also put the water bowl on top of it far from the bedding. They also have the handy holes in them, so the pee can drop right through and it smells less :P

      Maybe think about getting a lava ledge you can put under they're bottle and it will act as a natural file for their claws but if they're still quite long you're going to have to cut them or if you're too scared maybe get someone else to 😊

      I raised their water bottle and placed a brick under it, good for catching drips but also helps with their nails as they have to climb on it everytime they want a drink so ensures they use it. I got a new single brick from Wickes for about 80p as it was broken in half. Worked a treat.

    Hiiii, I know that this is really late and has no relation this video, but I felt like I should share it.
    In school we were doing a which one doesn’t belong. The 4 options on the screen were Dog, Cat, Rabbit, and Rat. In the chat, everyone was typing their answers. So many people said that rats are not cute, or rats are ugly, they are disgusting, dirty, normal rats are disgusting, their scary, and much more mean things about rats. I was sooo sad that I started to cry. So for my answer, I put rats because they are the most misunderstood and mistreated pet.
    It’s just terrible what people think and assume about rats & mice just because of rumors, and because they aren’t a popular pet. No one is going to say something bad about dogs, or cats but when it comes to rodents people say such mean things without even check if what they said is true or not. Rats and mice are amazing pets, but so many people don’t know this because they just assume things.
    Sorry that this is super long, I just felt like I should share this.

    This question is for anyone who can answer it. I’m building a new enclosure for my male mouse out of repurposed materials and it’s currently 15x80 in. A local guinea pig rescue has taken in a male mouse and he’s now available. if i divide this into two sections of 15x40 in would i need to caulk the center divider so there’s less stress on the mice? all sides of the enclosure (aside from the back) will be solid on the bottom 6in and wire mesh on the top for ventilation and light.

    I have been trying so hard to see if anyone near me if selling, rehoming, or breeding mice, as I have been looking into mice a bit more seriously, but freakin no one doing any of that lives within an hour of my general area, and considering I still rely on my working parents to drive me that’s not really much of an option, I have seen mice at like at one pet store in horrid conditions since they were feeders, none being sold as pets (of course I can buy them as pets but I don’t really want to do that) I might have seen some at pet supplies plus, I have seen some at petco, and 2 really adorable ones at Petsmart, but I have never seen mice as pets or know of people who own them or anything, it is so annoying because I want mice, but I don’t want to get the mice from the store, but apparently no one in my area does either, or at least no one wants to get rid of them

    HELP! This is the story of my mice (I NEED URGENT ADVICE). So I was at the pet store getting things for my dog when I saw these two female fancy mice. They seemed so cute so I set up a cage and went back to get them(even though I know we shouldn't get them at Petco). I brought them home and they were doing fine until I noticed genitals on one of them. I called the pet store and took the male mouse back. I was super stressed and didn't know what to do but the Petco took him back and apologized. I was planning to get another female mouse form the same store but they didn't have anymore so I drove to Petsmart. They had females there so I picked one up. I started the introduction process but my original female mouse was still getting builed and they were in constant fights. For a few days it seemed like just little fights but one day I noticed my old mouse have a bald spot with lumps and blood. I carefully took the steps of disinfection the wound and treating it and found another home for the new/bully mouse. Now my female is all alone and doesn't seem to be burrowing. She seems really sad and I hope she's healing. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!!?

      I have a roof tile and a brick near the foodbowl, so their nails wear down a bit while walking over it. I picked some that aren't very rough, so it's not abrasive for their feet. I guess Stones would also work.
      For the scratches I get time to time I use zinc ointment to help it heal quicker. :)
