Typically Li-ion batteries have this extra capacity the first 5-10 cycles - sometimes a little longer. This is not counted as the nominal capacity but rather a residual part of the so called formation process that happens at production. Actually a passivation layer is formed that will reduce the subsequent capacity decrease during use. I used to refer to such non cycled cells as 'virgin cells' and all real tests were done with non-virgin cells that had minimum 5 cycles. So Tesla is not cheating - you just have 3-5% extra initially.

No, i have not started buying Espa-Buns, but only because i live in the south of Germany and going to Espa is going to be a once in a lifetime or at least decade thing. But its on my bucket list!
The Model S is still very much competitive. Or best of the best... Just because Tesla doesn't give it a new front every year doesn't mean it is not improving.
The interior is lacking pretty hard, especially easy to fix, but annoying things like the door panels lacking storage, cupholder placement, window switch placement, no fold down arm rests in the rear seat. I'm glad to see they finally brought ventilated seats back though, I hope they can refresh these issues soon to make it competitive with the model 3 for interior design. The drive of the 100D's is amazing and still unparalleled though!
Model S is still an amazing car, especially with the Raven update. No wonder is Elon's first choice as daily driver. Any comment on the new suspensions? I guess the road was too smooth to really appreciate any difference..
The problem of course with your testing is that here in Germany we drive 100 even on Landstraße. On Autobahn driving 100 is almost dangerously slow. Would be interesting how it would behave driving from Hamburg to Munich with an average of say 130.
Last week at my scandinavian roadtrip with my model 3 i stopped at Espa bolleland, just because of you! Mostly i drove through sweden, but i had to go there😂 Jeg har vært i bolleland! I loved the cinnamon buns!
Any comments on the noise levels? Is it better than what you remember from Millennium Falcon? (hmm, I guess at 90km/h it may not be noticeable if there is any improvement).
Great videos Good job. I have a modle 3 and I have taken several trips that is 200 mi with a full charge of 307 mi I get range at 70 mph and the heat on I get a range of 227. I lose about 80 mi in a 200 mile trip. One time I was in the middle of no where and was all most out battery. This is what I did. I slow down but what made the difference was turned off the heat. I was able to get 295 with 5 mi left. Please do a video of this with every thing off. I turned off the light and radio and got more miles. Change my speed didn't make a big difference. I am sure this will help others who need a few extra miles thank Larry
Hi Bjorn, During your testing did you record any screen from Scan My tesla, where it would show the reported battery capacity? I'm trying to figure out why my 2020 Model S Raven Performance, shows 90KWh battery (Revision G ), something that Tesla support also confirmed to me over phone. This is unheard to me as I supposed all tesla model S after 2019 would go out with 100Kwh Battery. Cheers and keep up to great work on the channel.
I would be curious to see the new longe range plus version with the most efficient wheels on summer tires. Driven on typical highway speeds. It would be great if you could get your hands on one of those
sorry if i'm wrong, but as i watch the km's don't drop, but you're Wh/km drop, which should increase your range. on other words, is the km not dropping bacause of "buffer", or because your power use is dropping, so extending the range some.
