- I have been training Muay Thai for 1 year on and off before sparring consistently. I've also tried body shots only sparring in Karate and a choreographed two person set in Hung Kuen before, but nothing like Muay Thai or Kickboxing sparring, which has been fun.
do not stop videos please, I like you're channel keep doing become good.
Of course. Thanks for your comment man
The guy with the curly hair has great control knowing that he's bigger than you - just tap tap tap without punching through. He does make it known that you got hit with all the "oeeeee" though hahah, very much a playful Muay Thai culture that I like seeing. The guy in blue with the dyed hair also seems to be really encouraging, and he goes as far as showing you that the shots you landed on him would have done damaged if they were thrown for real.
I think overall you are training with the right people, and you have the right mindset so I look forward to seeing your future improvements.
By the way, is this in HK? Quite sure I am hearing Canto haha. A pleasant surprise to see HKers spar light as well. Cheers!
Thank you for your kind words. Yeah I’m based in Hong Kong and I practice Muay Thai at United Muay Thai, it’s quite a wholesome gym. Coming from a traditional martial arts background I thought I’d practice more sparring and I’ve been enjoying it.
proud of you max, keep it up!
Thank you Mlin
Great improvement bro. Keep grinding

Hi The Part Time Earthbender. I'm Karate. I see you are on the typical kickboxer journey. Fun, isn't it. On the karate end, we aren't so after fun. What we are after is tradition.
So here's a glimpse on how karate defeats Muay Thai. Note I said glimpse, not "tip." All these social media martial art sites coming up with "tips;" that's not HGOW karate tradition works. It's way more complicated.
ua-cam.com/video/SLoeKEc_ULU/v-deo.html The practitioners are not particularly impressive, which is the point. Getting proficient at traditional martial is hard work. And I don't mean showing up at the gym and having fun trying out "stuff." Hope that piques your interest. 🤨🤨CHEERS.
Hi Stan, I’ve been a Goju Ryu karate practitioner for over 10 years and a Hung Gar practitioner for 4 years. I have also worked at an NGO in Hong Kong in an effort to conserve the culture of Kung Fu.
I agree it’s an honor to pass on traditions as a traditional martial artist. But I named this channel The Part Time Earthbender because it’s even more important to keep an open mind and see how tradition can evolve. This is just my hobby but that is what I hope to achieve.
Thanks for watching and for supporting. I admire your passion to Karate.
@@PartTimeEarthbender Hi PartTimeEarthbender. TNx for getting back, and with a very courteous reply.
That said, you didn't address the substance of my comment, which is understandable.
To begin, the sample 1-step that I posted is precisely the tradition you speak about training for many years, yet you do not acknowledge it's value or purpose. So how long one has trained, or what style one has trained, by itself is irrelevant.
The only personal element that matters (which you are working on is understanding). The sample 1-Step I posted shows a very poor execution, by highly ranked belts, which immediately raises he issue of little understanding on their part. Furthermore, demonstrations like this cause others to question the competence of karate.
So out of this incompetence, comes the calls for traditional martial arts, karate, to "evolve." Heavily popularized with the advent of commercialized MMA.
In actuality, the reverse is true, Traditional karate is a complete and comprehensive martial art in theory, as is all TMA. The challenge is first, as I said, understanding.
You are progressing through your current course, that is t rue. Traditional karate, however, takes a different path in developing skill. One that is theoretically superior to the 'western" arts such as boxing, wrestling, typical BJJ & Muay Thai practices. One that is represented specifically by the 1-Step sparring.
This, obviously, is way too difficult to cover in a UA-cam comments section, and it's up to me to create a formal forum. Til then.... ☺☺CHEERS.

Hi Part Time Earthbender. Got a reply thatMuay Thai is better than karate. Understandable as we see this play out in the competitive MMA competition all the time.
Muay Thai really comes on strong with physical strength & conditioning. Very physically powerful strikes. That's not what karate tradition does. Karate tradition, in application seeks to disable the opponent. Like really fast. This is taught by the exercises I posted. As we see, the TKD practitioners in the exercise were weak in their physical technique. WE have to be strong in karate to defeat the opponent. Karate strength is meant to defeat the physically superior opponent, as represented by Muay Thai. How karate does this is complex, a complicated skill set. What you are doing will never match karate tradition done properly. How to do it is the rub. Big Spider videos won't change that truth.
I purposely made the example hard to see if you recognized the challenge. You did not. Therefore, karate tradition is not for you. You'll have to be willing to work harder @ finding the truth. Good luck with all that, THE bIG sPIDERS AND so on. CHEERS.
