- In this video I take you along on my Spring Foraging and show you my favourite Wild Edibles of the Nordic spring. This season is truly abundant, and all the vibrant green colours, the bright nights, the overflowing waterfalls and the loud birdsong make this the most intense season of the year here in Norway. At least in my opinion.
I have also started to experiment a little with some new ideas I have for Simple WILD FOOD RECIPES. And I share two of them here with you:
- A japanese knotweed crumble pie.
- Golden Dandelion milk.
00:02:01 - Maple flowers
00:03:24 - Violets
00:04:14 - Meadowsweet
00:05:45 - Spruce cones

Professional quality!
... I love beginner's tips!☺
Glad you like them!
Thank you for this lovely video, I learned new things (and am a foraging teacher)! One of my best and oldest friends lives in Bergen so I hope I can take her out in Norway one day soon!
❤️
Wooooow - those wild waters 😍
yeees
I’m always so happy to sit down with your videos and a cup of tea. It is truly such a pleasure.
That makes me very happy! I love videos that I can sit down with a cup of tea and watch myself. So its very nice that you feel like this with mine 😊
Really nice video
That was a treat to watch. Thank you for sharing ❤️
I'm glad
Wow - the power in all that moving water! It must be awesome to stand at the edge of that!
It sure is
❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️
I use spruce shoots to pickle!
me too, its great :D
Maria you've done it again ! Another superb video full of amazing and surprising facts.
I never would have expected dessert to be made from Japanese Knotweed of all things. Quite astonishing that such a thug of a plant finally gets to redeem itself on your dessert menu.
The goats looked very pleased to see you. I can only wonder if it is they who teach you about interesting plants they've been nibbling on, or if it is in fact you who teach them about where to find the finest dining places in the forest. To be honest with you, I suspect the latter is the more likely !
Keep up the great work.
Thank you Mark. I am always so encouraged by your kind comments.
Indeed this plant has some good sides to it. I wish we would all eat more of it, so we can maybe remove more of it!
Hahah, thats true actually that the goats and I have much in common! I think if they would be my teachers then they would tell me to eat everything that grows, they really can leave a place barren. People here sometimes rent a herd of them to clear the landscape of small shoots and weeds.
Have a nice week.
I live in Sweden, so looking so much forward too go even deeper this year into foraging! Nice video! :D
Thank you
/Ditte i Skåne
Hei Ditte

Whoop, so happy to have you here
How beautiful, looking forward to seeing your channel grow over time 🌱🌱🌲🌲
Thank you Jenny ♡
This is all just so interesting! I found out that a fern that grows here in the Tropics has all the identical properties as the one from your last video. But the plant is completely different when the leaves open! It would be interesting to do a side by side of different varieties of same plants from different clients and places around the world! This has always fascinated me! Thanks for this lovely video ❤️
Climates* lol 😆
That is very interesting! Do you know the name of it?
I agree that would be very interesting indeed. Maybe one day when the world is more open again
@@Mariaandtheforest yes I just found some info... I’m going to post it in FB so you can see all the pics I just took!
Been so busy with Reece I didn't have time till now to catch up on your videos but loved this one so much. We have Japanese knot weed in our garden so might try a mini vegan pie first. Will let you know how it turns out! :)
Totally understandable. I am so glad you like it
Veldig fin video!
@@Mariaandtheforest Hjertelig takk for info. 😊
Hjertelig takk!
