Y'all just remember debating people in a UA-cam comment section isnt gonna help truly spread the gospel. Not because you'll lose the debate, but because many don't want to listen. Go out into your life, make friends, meet people, talk with them there. The people online don't want to listen to your perspective and don't desire to change their mind. They just want to argue with you. Be careful in your responses and be gentle in them my brothers and sisters. At most you'll make it harder for them to listen to the gospel if you argue.
Yes, it surely is possible to be wrong about my belief in the Bible, but what would that imply? Is there any source of information that covers life and death that is comprable to our greatest source in antiquity? I'm genuinely asking. For all though I have searched endlessly, I still don't know much.
OK, when something did not happen, we don't generally call it a fact that it did happen. You are correct that the details of the thing that did not happen are less important than the thing that did not happen, but if that's the case, unless we are writing science fiction, why are we talking about a thing that did not happen as if it happened?
Great Hope We don't know and neither do you. That's why we're trying to find the answer rather than believing in nonsense that has no evidence to back it up. Wishful thinking, willful ignorance, and blind faith does not determine truth. It's just another way of lying to yourself and others. It's way more honest to admit that you don't know rather than claiming you do. It's way more honest that you

The very fact that it says a thousand years is *"like"* a day to God means that amount of time (1000 years) *is not a day.* A ~simile~ is used in 2 Peter and Psalms. The literal understanding of a day (evening and morning) is used in Genesis. He even said he gave us the lights in the sky to be for seasons, years and for *days.* Saying *"like a day"* to someone who is immortal is not the same that as saying *it is one day.* 2 Peter is a comparison of a collection of years to someone who is immortal as being *'like'* one of our literal evening/morning days. God said He gave us lights to determine days and years. People either believe what He said or they don't. Evening/Morning were first day, second day, third day, fourth day, fifth day, sixth day, etc.
I've said this before. I don't go to my physics books looking for spiritual guidance and I don't open my Bible when I have a question concerning science. I know one thing. I had a life before I let God back into my heart and another after. Both have had their shares of ups and downs but since I have reconnected with Him I know I'm not alone. That wasn't always the case and knowing that has brought me a sense of contentment I never had. That alone makes the trip worth it. That's my story and while it may seem over simplistic to some I'm sticking to it. Argue about the age of this or the age of that all you want. “For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe, no explanation is possible.” ― Franz Werfel, The Song of Bernadette
I believe, a good argument would be, that God did not make Adam and Eve as an embryo or an infant, etc., but at an advanced stage in life. He made earth as a planet, not a speck of dust. He made light shine on the earth in one day. He made animals in one day. Therefore, if light was made in one day and if stars are millions upon millions of miles away from the earth then the distance light had to travel to earth during creation was accomplished in one day, making light-years an irrelevant term for the distance of light coming from stars. Even if light (coming from stars) is millions upon millions of miles away from us, it cannot determine the age of the universe.

Adam didn't need to name all of the animals that we see today mainly due to the fact that there were much fewer KINDS from which all of the species came from so there were far fewer animals to name. In addition, Adam was the first human being who could access his entire brain which made him very intelligent. Naming a few thousand animals in one day wouldn't have been a problem at all.

It is very important to know God's character and know what he is capable of in order to know if the earth is young or old. Frank says that a person must assume that the plants and trees grew over night instead of many years. However, this assumption is based upon God's words which are true. For instance, he created a gourd tree above Jonah in a few minutes and while God was walking the earth he provided bread for nearly 10,000 people in moments. It would take a lot of time to make all that bread and get a gourd to grow over Jonah's head but God is not limited by time, he is outside of time. It's a logical conclusion to say the earth is very young based on scientific and biblical information. And the Lord God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd. Jonah 4:6 KJV
That is an interesting thought I was just thinking as well Adam was created as a man, not as a baby. In my personal thoughts if someone limits God's power by saying plants and trees yadda yadda yadda couldn't happen that fast, my thoughts are they are forgetting God created the universe in 6 days and rested on the 7th day. I don't believe for a single second that the 6 days weren't anything other than 24 hour periods, if you look at the text in Genesis the evening came and then the morning. I maybe assuming here, but that simply doesn't indicate to me that there were unknown L•O•N•G periods of time between days. It doesn't make logical sense to think they were longer than 24 hour periods of time. Still today 7 days 24 hour period of time in our days. If those were longer periods in creation when was it that it changed to 24 hour days? It makes sense it would be 24 hour periods from the start. Man made up said term in so and so's day. If I'm not mistaken, the Bible says "in the days of Noah .......". Notice day(S) as in MANY 24 hour periods of time.

So, what do we do with the genealogies in Matthew and Luke from Adam to Jesus and the years everyone lived within that lineage written in the O.T. (including Adam)?
The lineages in Genesis are different then the new testament, in genesis is being specific , is telling you how old one was when they had a son and how long they lived and so on , in the new testament is basically emphasizing in the bloodline and how it was the same bloodline throughout time .
Satan had the earth before Adam. How old is man and how old is the earth and/or universe are two different questions. Satan fell before Adam was created.
@@cba4389 Can you prove that with Scripture? I don't think so. I think it's clear that Satan fell after the creation of Adam. Why? Because God surveyed all that He had created, and it was good. If Satan had fallen prior to this, that would not be true.
cloudstepper11 Satan did fall before Adam was created, it’s within the 1st 3 verses of Genesis, verse 2 to be exact, and everything that God created was good until Satan deceived Eve, and yes God knew everything that was going to happen, but chose to go forth anyway as He had a plan the whole time to renew everything, and what a glorious time that will be when it happens, and God didn’t create Satan, He created Lucifer, who then became Satan
Yeah, BUT You’re missing the most important line in Genesis; Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for DAYS, and YEARS. So, yes, these are our 24 hour days; morning and night. Not to mention, you forget that EVERY verse starts with AND (2-26;28-31), which means HEAVEN and Earth AND light/darkness AND the evening AND the morning WERE THE FIRST DAY. Not A first day but THE first day. God didn’t just create EVERYTHING; He SPOKE everything into existence in 6 DAYS. Don’t limit God’s power. He said let the earth BRING FOR GRASS, so it did grow instantly because again, it says after that, AND...were the third day.
Chapter 2 says that there were no plants which had grown because there had been no rain and Man had not been created yet, so God made a mist to water the ground, then God created Man, planted a garden and then put Man in the garden. Chapter 1 says God gave Man and all animals plants to be their food. If it was necessary for them to eat, and there were no plants grown before God made Adam and the days are long enough for plants to grow at the rate they grow now, what did the animals from the 5th day eat?
Assuming that God did a thing a certain way isn't putting limits on God's power. Why? Because God can do things how he wants whenever he wants, so one method of creation is just as powerful as the other. And its okay to assume if you dont know how he did something.
When it happened is not really relevant, but I strongly lean towards an old earth/universe. Just because I know that light from the stars that I see in the sky have taken millions of light-years to get here for me to see. What’s really fascinating is that those stars may not actually even be there now, even though we see them here on Earth.
I believe a good argument would be that God did not make Adam and Eve as an embryo, but at an advanced stage in life, as man and woman. He made earth as a planet, not a speck of dust. Frank: You have some great content and you are a great intellectual, this is why its difficult to believe you do not stand on the biblical standard of God's creation in 6 literal days. Jesus demonstrates how easy it is to feed 10,000 people without needing time. Jonah is blessed with a gourd tree that grows over his head out of nowhere instantaneously yet you think that it is out of character for God to have the ability to create all of the world in a very short period of time? I believe that you are mis interpreting the bible and this is a weak area of your faith in God's ultimate and divine power. He can bend time, manipulate matter and bend space to allow the "billions" of light years to take just a few days as well. It is important that we represent God in a way that is accurate. This may not be a heaven or hell issue but our faith hinges on the very God we identify with. Depicting this God in the most accurate way is crucial to gaining a closer relationship to him.
Daniel Frost saying its definetly young or old would be counterproductive. Because it would hurt peoples faith. So I think this is a good solution. It doesnt matter when God made it. He made it
Jonathan Wick Frank presents information that he implies the earth is not young. It's important to be concise when we pronounce our faith. As a Christian I believe there to be far too many things in the bible that could be counted as assumptions, God is looking for us to trust him. The bible gives us his character in order for us to make a logical conclusion. God placed manna in the desert for the Israelites every day for many years, he grew a gourd tree over Jonah instantly and created bread for 10,000 thousand people. At the end of the day it's a matter of faith and our relationship with God. If we have a close relationship with God we will understand his power better which is important when we tell other people about him. He is a God outside of time, space and matter thus he is not affected or dependent upon them in order to create. My God actually controls time, space and matter thus he does speed things up, proven by my bible with the synthesis of life. If days is interpreted into thousands of years then the flowering plants had to wait a really long time for pollinators, too long of time for many of them to survive. There are thousands of instances where synthesis can be noticed in creation and the universe. For instance, if the earth is millions/billions of years old the moon would have been on the surface of the earth millions of years ago as it is proven to be moving away from the earth very slowly today. This lines up with a young earth but places the moon directly on top of the earth many years ago. I used to believe in old earth and it made me a weak Christian who compromised God's word because I would go in the bible and start my interpretation of every thing to fit my world view. All of the sudden, God didn't mean what he said in his word about marriage, homosexuality, killings, stealing or any of the miracles he performed: they could all be changed in order fit my world view and I could have a relationship with God. That sounds like a win win for humanity but it is a losing endeavor to try and have a relationship with God without following his word and having faith in the fact that he means what it says. Trust me, the God we characterized is vital to our Christian walk. My God is all powerful: not dependent upon time space or matter. My God controls time, space and matter. The old earth theory places God on in a weak position.
"But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day." 2 Peter 3:8 Also remember that Sun was created in 4th day, so there even wasn't any way to measure days, suggesting it's not literal 24hr day but an era. Why then God spoke about 7 days? It was to give human a week (which is completely arbitrary time unit not based on anything but God's word) with 6 days of work and 1 day of rest (which is also best system for humans to function well). Finally, God usually works by creating a law (such as physics) and then using that law to do his work. Could he do it in 6x24hrs? Sure. Could he do it in instant? Sure. But he could also set the laws and do the "Big Bang" event. Notice how he always SAID and then it happened.. That really seems like he gave directives (set laws) and then it happened by those laws. Like - he said let there be light (photons) before the Sun and other stars were created (He was probably the source of light in the meantime). Nothing in Bible really contradict scientific observations..
David Novák 2 Peter 3:8 has been used by many evolutionists to try and show the earth is old but it has nothing to do with the age of the universe. Peter is expressing a time frame outside of human comprehension. To God time is irrelevant because he is in complete control of time, space and matter. This verse is used many times by people who want to prove the earth is billions of years old by justifying that God created the world in 6 ""days that can be interpreted differently with the context of the false belief that one day is actually 1000 years. God didn't need time to create anything, he is an instant creator who is well able to create in moments all that we see in this world:) If you believe that God created the world in thousands of millions of years I feel bad for you because your God is much smaller and less powerful then the God of the bible whom I believe in.
Peter isn't saying that one day is 1000 years for God - just that God's perception of time is totally different from ours, so his "I will come back soon" can be many many generations, even thousands of our days. Why "our days"? Because day lasts different time on each planet. Heck, even our days are getting longer, because rotation of Earth is slowing down slightly. And like I said - there was no way to measure Earth days before day 4 - this means that start and end of day was solely determined by God's word. And it didn't change after day 4 - it was still determined by God saying "now day begins, now it ends". Why should God's day be same as Earth day? There is no reason to assume such thing and Bible never says anything that would hint that was the case. I believe in God that can do anything - it could be instant it could take 24 hours, it could take million years - we simply don't know as God doesn't say. And neither of those cases limits God - why would it? It's simply his sovereign decision. Much like including us into spreading of gospel. God could've just sent angels to everyone or appear personally as bush, cloud or fire tornado (like he did for Moses & jews) or like anything else and speak to people directly. Both would be much more efficient than sending imperfect people who make mistakes and are often afraid. Why did he do it? Why did he use other processes than instant miracle? Why would he do this and then act completely differently - instantaneously - during creation? That would be rather inconsistent, don't you think? Yes, he doesn't need time and he certainly doesn't need us to do his works and yet, he uses both. For me, that's the biggest miracle - that people like me can participate in God's plan even though they are much better and more efficient ways to do it without me.
I like what creationist Stephen Meyer says about old universe and young man. He also believes in old earth I think which I do tend to disagree with, but really I like what Frank says
I love this guy and all the answers he gives, but this is the first time I actually disagree with him. I read Hebrews 4:3-5 and it doesn't say his rest has not ended. It was using the 7th day he rested as an example. So he misinterpreted that verse unfortunately. Also, The Bible says "and the morning and the evening were the first day", the second day, the third, and so on. Genesis is very specific about the literal week of creation. So I'm sorry, but this is the only time he gave a bad answer that I have heard so far.
The first day even doesn't require a literal day to create light! what about the vegetations and all sorts of plants and trees? Can they grow up mature within 24 hours? In Gen. 2 It is clear that on the day of creation of earth, there was nth vegetation coz no rainfall ... This is pretty a natural process. 6 Days cannot be totally literal 24 hours ...
@@kevinshrestha3623 So basically you are saying that God is limited. Remember, God spoke the world and the universe into existence. What about Adam? When God made him, did he make him as a child, or was he instantly a full grown man? And how about Eve? Was she just a little girl when God made her from the rib of Adam or was she fully grown? I believe God is infinitely powerful and can create everything into full maturity at a single breathe from his mouth like the Bible says.
@@RelaxingDisney so if you want to have such a logical argument then let us argue logically... Yes you said is right God is all powerful... One question for you... @@kevinshrestha3623Well, first thing is this. The bible says in black and white, "and the morning and the evening were the first day". Now, I dont know any "era" that a day could last that long, unless God held the sun in place for more than one day, which he did at one point. But anyway, what I really want to say is this, why argue about something like this anyway? We are all Christian's and yet here we are arguing over our interpretation of the Bible when our main focus needs to be on Christ AMD oir relationship with Him. Now I know all questions will be answered once we are in Heaven with our Holy Father and I know we will all have complete understanding and we will get along like we were meant to. As you know, I dont believe in 1000 year or more creation because that leads into Evolution, not the Bible. God is God. He can do whatever He wants. And I believe what the Bible tells me. End of story. But I say again, I am not here to argue. I love you all and I hope your faith in Christ never dies. God bless my friend!
Good point. What we can all agree on, believers and unbelievers alike is that the universe began. The relevancy as to when it started is questionable really. In the end of the day, what does it matter if the Earth is as old or young as we thought? This doesn't necessarily and worthily prove or disprove anything...
The preacher is wrong. Adam didn't name the animals until after the 7th day and he could have been on earth for months or years . It was also before eve was created. Lots of preachers don't know what they are saying so read it for yourself

@Richard Hopkins when you see a building you cant say no one build it its same with creation. Just because you dont see God which no one can see does not mean no one made the universe. God claims He made it and if you have the knowledge and you were at the beginning please do tell.
@Richard Hopkins you can say different things, wont change the reality. No one ones and even the scientists only assume what happened,no factual information we can test. The big bang came from nothing and you call that science? Ok. God is not bound by our laws and He is not a created being. He created time, space, matter ans energy so nothing is hard for Him.
While the text does not explicitly say, it seems Adam’s first breadth was as a physically mature human. (No womb + stages of pre-born/baby/child development). Same with the plant in Jonah 4 growing tall enough overnight to provide shade. Also Jesus creating fish and loaves for thousands. The age of those things were very young relative to their normally sequenced mechanics. Besides stretching space out in the beginning to define a new domain probably messes with how we (with our magnificent little tools) would normally measure distance, rates, and ages.
Okay here's the thing. First of all, it is not limiting God's power to assume any kind of method of creation, slow or fast. Because either way its powerful. Secondly, how old the universe is is irrelevant to our faith because it doesn't affect our lives nor God's plan. Thirdly, we all know God the same way yet in different ways. What does this mean? It means in this life on earth we will always have something new to learn about God and therefore not know everything about him. We can get really really far in to knowing him, but we would still have a lot to learn, due to our finite nature and how great he is. On the next life however, we will fully know him. So dont pressure yourself on if you have the best interpretation of God or not. So long as you know that He is loving and powerfull and faithful to you. You have a good base of knowing him.
Question; if the universe is old and Turek made the point of saying the plants didn’t just grow all at once, then the animals would follow the same track, and then wouldn’t it be safe to assume that evolution took place to make the animals today? To some extent evolution had to occur, since in the garden, there was no need for defense mechanisms, and yet, today, snakes have entire organs to produce venom. If a complex system like that could come about, isn’t it also safe to guess that the entire human body could have been created in this way? Is God orchestrating it, or is evolution a self-sustaining process?
It never was. You must have run into the unfortunately popular young earth creationists. But in orthodox Christianity if we go back even as early as the church fathers, they never believed the earth was a few thousand years old

Completely agree with this guy. God lives outside of "time". 1 day to God could be billions of years to us. So in the first verses of the Bible, when it talks about time in days, it doesn't literally mean 24 hour day because that would be a mortal human day. Fascinating stuff.
Perhaps you can prove certain things. Jesus asked peter, who do you say i am?. Because god chose to reveal certain things to people. Some people may have the truth but unfortunately are not believed.
Very good question as time is relative, and most scholars agree that verse referring to indiscriminate amount of time. In my opinion it makes more sense to read day as epoch.
Even the New Testament is strong on the point that God created the heavens and the earth and that how he did it by the word of his command rather than the length of days. I agree with Frank on his overall premise.
My thoughts are that a day is, in fact, relative to where you are. On Earth, a day is 24 hours. On Jupiter, a day is just under 10 hours. On Mars, 24 and 1/2 hours-ish. Does God live on Earth? Just saying. We don't know how long God's days are. If you want to force 24 hours, you're making another un-provable assumption.
When it happened and how it happened are both very interesting questions. Just saying God did it cheapens the beauty of it. There is no evidence of a God influencing evolution for billions of years.
Read it again, the flood came AFTER 120 years, Noah lived a VERY long Time "AFTER" the flood. And so did many others, just read it for yourself,But dont just take "my " word for it,im just a dust ball made of the earth,Lord bless you as you study his word🙏
The thing is based on Relativity the speed of light doesn't have to change. This because according to Relativity there is no absolute time and no absolute now. There is actually a range then you can arbitrarily set has now based on which the age of the farthest light we see can be anywhere between 0 and 27.4 billion years, with the generally quoted age being in the middle at 13.7 billion. However, by choosing to set now based on the light that we see that light is 0 years old.
Its important to address the fact that any time period discussion cannot include an age that encompasses death. Death was ushered in by original sin. If not, then there was no need for Christ's sacrifice. That is a primarily doctrinal issue. So, if you include long ages of dying (evolving) animals, you have a problem. A desire to support evolutionary theory, was the reason for postulating long ages, in the first place. They needed to invent the added time, to allow for the desired explanation of a creation with no God (evolution).
God's words needs humans to write books about them explaining it.. "cringe alert: Christians trying so hard to interrupt the verse in a way so that normal people will not laugh at them" .. 😂😂😂😂😂
I think it the world is young because in Matthew 19:4 Jesus was talking to the religious leaders of the Jews and said “Haven’t you read? That in the beginning God created man and women?” I think it would be a stretch of the imagination to say “in the beginning “ was over a six million period/time span, but I don’t think it’s a stretch of the imagination to say the beginning was over a six day time span. Also why wouldn’t Jesus correct them by saying “By the way you guys think the earth is 6000 years old, but it’s actually 6 million” (something like that). Also God said to Moses (who wrote genesis) that he speaks to him the literal truth and not in riddles. (I can try and find the verse for anyone who wants it).
No one back then thought the earth was 6,000 years old. They had no concept of dating the universe, or the earth. Do you know why creationists use the 6,000 figure?

@Spelling Officer yes, God's word describes a day to us as the passing of a day and night. He reiterates that numerous times in Genesis, in-fact, and I believe the purpose of him repeating it is so there is no mistake about Him creating our world in 6 days.
Wow, Turks really adamant about how you shouldn't make assumptions, however, his faith and the entire Christian belief is littered with too many assumptions to count. That's where all that faith comes in right.
Yeah of course. I mean, every time science figures something out people point to the bible and say it's been in there all the time. Before tho, they interpreted it completely differently. If something can be interpreted in any possible way, then sure, all the possible information is in it. However, if you dont have a way to get this information out of it before you already know it, then there is no actual information in it. Really gotta love this flawed logic. They will just reinterprete everything until the religion eventually stops existing, like all before it did.
@Adrienne Adrienne "That's why"? What's why? That the book that is the only so-called evidence for its existance is extremely vague, self contradicting and outright unscientific unless interpreted in the 'correct' way? If that's a reason to seek the god described in a book, then you should also seek fictional characters like Harry Potter. Only exists in one book, is not exactly scientific and doesnt make a whole lot of sense believing in. They are literally the same.
No not most of it, that’s why people turn away from god, because the Bible has specific things humans turn against, you really can’t fit any narrative in the Bible, believer or not
The Hebrew term for day, “yom,” also translates to “an unknown length of time.” There couldn’t have been days before our sun was created. If you split all of history up into 6 segments, it actually perfectly lines up with the Bible. I suggest watching Hugh Ross’ video titled, “The Latest Scientific Evidence for God’s Existence.”
CRUSTYDOGTAlNT Huge is a smart guy. But, he was raised with the indoctrination of billions of years before he became a Christian. He now tries to get the Bible to match that.
Robert Schilling I can definitely see where you’re coming from, and I actually hadn’t thought about that. But he does have some good points that are worth considering. You should check that video out if you haven’t seen it already
CRUSTYDOGTAlNT I have but I just can’t get passed Gods word. God is clear that it was six days. In context, just look at what he tells the Hebrews when it comes to the commandments. You will labor for six days and rest on the seventh. For I created all in six days and rested on the seventh. Why would God not be clear and actually be deceptive?
Considering the fact that the 7th day is still ongoing and will extend for another 1,000 years. The days of Genesis in regard to creation are long periods of time. The material earth was already in existence. It was made inhabitable for humans. Genesis 1:2 makes this apparent. The materials the earth is made up of could have existed for billions of years. Good show in his explanation. A rarerity.
They are 6 literal days, just like it says. God created plants, the next day the sun, then the next day he created the animals. How long could the plants survive without the sun and animals for cross pollination? Plus God formed man fully grown, so he can create fruit trees fully growth and producing also. Plus God told the Israelites to work for 6 days and rest on the 7th, just like God did in the creation. How many days do you really think he was telling them to work? Probably 6 literal days and rest on the 7th ( the Sabbath) just like the Bible teaches.
God created plants but he did not cause them to grow until the 6th day, shortly before he made Adam, so the question becomes what did the birds eat until the plants grew.
@@lilchristuten7568 where does it say that? Gen 1:12 it says "there was a seed bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit" all done on the 3rd day. The plants were made mature, just like Adam and eve in one day.

Modern English Version Bible
@@lilchristuten7568 Genesis 2 starts out by summarizing the creation stated in Genesis 1. Yes there was no rain but the plants were watered by mist from the ground. And that happened before man was formed. Nowhere does it say that happened minutes before man was formed. It was 3 days before, according to Genesis 1. The fruit trees would not survive long without the animals, or the Sun. And Adam would have had to have full mature trees to eat. So it's still backs up 6 literal days. And even if you what you were saying was true, if they are 24 hr days then the animals would only have to go one or 2 days without food. That wouldn't be a problem.
@@sandina2cents779 My first post was actually adding to the fact that the creation had to be literal days. Genesis 2:4 "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens," Modern English Version Bible When the bible talks about generations it is speaking in terms of humankind, everything that happened after verse 4 in this chapter happened on the day God made Man.
I got to say this one sounds more like a redirection over an expression of opinion / explanation and leaves out a lot of the arguments and logics used for both sides of the argument.
Some indeed may have it right as to the age of the universe. However, that's not on what we'll be judged. Having an opinion based on our weighing the different claims is fine, but don't let that be a stumbling block to loving others. If salvation was conditional on having the age of the universe right, Jesus would have made that plain.
Jesus Who is God declared that God made Adam and Eve at the beginning. This would not be a lie if they were created on the sixth 24 hour day. Read Exodus 20:8-11 written at one point by God Himself.
Sure thing. The verses I was referencing are these: Matthew 19:4 - “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,” Exodus 20:8-11 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” God is outside of time. He could have created everything in a microsecond. He chose to do it in a week for the benefit of man, so we would be able to rest, and trust in Him.

Evening and morning accompanied each day of creation. In order for the days to be anything other than 24 hours you have to assume that evening and morning have changed their meaning at some point. Where is the evidence for that?
Why would people who strongly disagree with this topic even click on the video unless they just wanted to hit up the comment section and profess themselves to be wise? Not only did Genesis say that God created the heavens and the earth before the first day but also spirit of God moved over the waters of a formless earth before the "let there be light" of the first happened. Seems like the basics were all in place before the seven days began.

The very fact that it says a thousand years is *"like"* a day to God means that amount of time (1000 years) *is not a day.* A ~simile~ is used in 2 Peter and Psalms. The literal understanding of a day (evening and morning) is used in Genesis. He even said he gave us the lights in the sky to be for seasons, years and for *days.*
Saying *"like a day"* to someone who is immortal is not the same that as saying *it is one day.* 2 Peter is a comparison of a collection of years to someone who is immortal as being *'like'* one of our literal evening/morning days. God said He gave us lights to determine days and years. People either believe what He said or they don't. Evening/Morning were first day, second day, third day, fourth day, fifth day, sixth day, etc.

While that is true that does not mean that he did.

I think its young, but hey I mean this is just fun or should be fun conversations we should have as Christian's not a debate tactic. This stuff is what evangelists are born from not what should create apostates.. come on family.
I believe, a good argument would be, that God did not make Adam and Eve as an embryo, but at an advanced stage in life. He made earth as a planet, not a speck of dust. He made light shine on the earth in one day. He made animals in one day.
Therefore, if light was made in one day, then the distance of a star was accomplished in one day, making light-years an irrelevant term, and even if light (coming from stars) is millions of light-years away from us, it cannot determine the age of the universe.

Daniel Frost he also created man as adult. So he could easily make vegetation in an aged state
That is an interesting thought I was just thinking as well Adam was created as a man, not as a baby.
@@darinb.3273 my brother, did you miss the part where "day" can have many meanings? Also, if God rested on the 7th day...and He's still resting...its been way way longer than 24hrs since that started.

He is just trying to make sense of the senseless mate, don't take it too seriously.
So, what do we do with the genealogies in Matthew and Luke from Adam to Jesus and the years everyone lived within that lineage written in the O.T. (including Adam)?
Roy Saringo That’s exactly what I was thinking
@@lilchristuten7568 All vegetation was created on the 3rd day of creation. The animals on the 6th day had plenty to eat before Adam was formed.
He made light shine on the earth in one day. He made animals in one day. Therefore, if light was made in one day, then the distance of a star was accomplished in one day, making light-years an irrelevant term on that first day, and even if light (coming from stars) is millions of light-years away from us, it cannot determine the age of the universe.

6 days for God may be like 6milion years for us. God is timeless, so he "feel" time probably different.
He made it
Jonathan Wick
Frank presents information that he implies the earth is not young.
"But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day." 2 Peter 3:8
Also remember that Sun was created in 4th day, so there even wasn't any way to measure days, suggesting it's not literal 24hr day but an era.
Doesn't really make a difference if the world is young or old - that depends on factors outside of your knowledge and skill set.
So it takes 24 hours for God just to create a light?? And explain me the third day creation activity relating it with Gen 2 . Tell me the basis for 24 hours day... @@kevinshrestha3623Well, first thing is this. The bible says in black and white, "and the morning and the evening were the first day". But anyway, what I really want to say is this, why argue about something like this anyway? Now I know all questions will be answered once we are in Heaven with our Holy Father and I know we will all have complete understanding and we will get along like we were meant to. The big bang came from nothing and you call that science? Ok. God is not bound by our laws and He is not a created being. He created time, space, matter ans energy so nothing is hard for Him.
@Richard Hopkins well if you go before the big bang you will see that evolution teaches its nothing. Thats not logic nor scientific

Completely agree with this guy. God lives outside of "time". 1 day to God could be billions of years to us. So in the first verses of the Bible, when it talks about time in days, it doesn't literally mean 24 hour day because that would be a mortal human day. Fascinating stuff.
Yeah, when the reality doesn’t comport to the Bible , you comport the Bible to the reality... Now comport it to evolution
Perhaps you can prove certain things. Jesus asked peter, who do you say i am?. Because god chose to reveal certain things to people. Some people may have the truth but unfortunately are not believed.
A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day. I’ve wondered many times what’s a day to God?
That verse is simply telling you that God is not limited to time when God says a day he means a 24-hour day because he made days for us
Very good question as time is relative, and most scholars agree that verse referring to indiscriminate amount of time. In my opinion it makes more sense to read day as epoch.
The Bible is ever so humbling a book.
That's why sometimes the only thing a believer can hold firmly is that one statement - MARANATHA
Genesis describes the creation of Earth and on Earth, a day is 24 hours as you said.
When it happened and how it happened are both very interesting questions. Just saying God did it cheapens the beauty of it. There is no evidence of a God influencing evolution for billions of years.
Eddie Bravo asking questions
I think the better question is how old is mankind
Didnt God shortin mans days to 120 years after the great flood of Noah?
Read it again, the flood came AFTER 120 years, Noah lived a VERY long Time "AFTER" the flood. And so did many others, just read it for yourself,But dont just take "my " word for it,im just a dust ball made of the earth,Lord bless you as you study his word🙏
I disagree.
God didnt "speed up" nothing , but create already matured.
Man/women and whole world.
Could very well be bit we don't know for sure
The thing is based on Relativity the speed of light doesn't have to change. This because according to Relativity there is no absolute time and no absolute now. There is actually a range then you can arbitrarily set has now based on which the age of the farthest light we see can be anywhere between 0 and 27.4 billion years, with the generally quoted age being in the middle at 13.7 billion. However, by choosing to set now based on the light that we see that light is 0 years old.
Day to lord like a 1000yrs
If you read day as epoch as Bible seems to intend it seemingly confers with science.
No bro not this.
JB how do you know that?
AGD,
I don't want to play answer a question with a question.
Do you know why creationists use the 6,000 year figure?
Answer my question and I'll be very happy to answer yours.
JB because of the ages of the people named. Especially adam
Jonathan Wick,
How would using Adam's age and the ages of the people named lead you to 6,000 years? What formula did you use? How was your data calculated?
Genesis 1:5 KJV: "And God called the light Day, and the darkness, He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day." Read your Bibles and you will understand, each "day" is a literal 24 hour day.
The gospel is the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM!
Repent and believe the gospel! Follow Jesus’ teachings!

Jesus said the Father is the only true God!
John 17
3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
@Spelling Officer read the passage above again.
I'll just call in a theory make it scientific with some random data, then it will be a fact like evolution correct?
Love the Bible. It’s vague enough that you can twist what it says to fit into anything lmao
No not most of it, that’s why people turn away from god, because the Bible has specific things humans turn against, you really can’t fit any narrative in the Bible, believer or not
The world was made in 6 days
The Hebrew term for day, “yom,” also translates to “an unknown length of time.” There couldn’t have been days before our sun was created.
If you split all of history up into 6 segments, it actually perfectly lines up with the Bible.
I suggest watching Hugh Ross’ video titled, “The Latest Scientific Evidence for God’s Existence.”
CRUSTYDOGTAlNT Huge is a smart guy. But, he was raised with the indoctrination of billions of years before he became a Christian. He now tries to get the Bible to match that.
Robert Schilling
I can definitely see where you’re coming from, and I actually hadn’t thought about that.
Bible also describes the geocentric model: it's flat, motionless, and enclosed. NASA is lying to you
How does he have a whole slideshow for this question?
Because people ask this question. Every. Single. Time. So, since it's a given, he's prepared.
A rarerity.
Frank I love your stuff but you miss it on this one. Exodus 21:11, Exodus 31:17
John 5:17
@@sandina2cents779
Genesis 1:12
"And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good."
Modern English Version Bible
It says the earth brought forth grass and herb yielding seed, and fruit whose seed was in itself.
Genesis 2:5
"And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground."
@@sandina2cents779
My first post was actually adding to the fact that the creation had to be literal days.
Genesis 2:4
"These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,"
Modern English Version Bible
When the bible talks about generations it is speaking in terms of humankind, everything that happened after verse 4 in this chapter happened on the day God made Man.
Woah!
I apologise. I have read this comment several times and I don't understand what your saying? Could you please elaborate more?
WOW that's awesome. Thank you for explaining it. God is so awesome. Words can't even express the reality that we will get to be with God in Heaven. His thoughts of us outnumber the grains of sand. Wow wow wow
Amen.
The earth is the whole universe. The earth is flat with everything in a closed system. There is a great deception going on. Once you understand that, then a lot of debates will be put to rest.
how you get to the conclusion that the earth is flat ?
steve lovett
I know right. I hear so many young kids talking about the earth is flat. It's like they find the most random conspiracy and make it their own religion out of it.
Michael Ramos
Your deceived and you're here to spread deception. You need to repent.
There's evidence, research it
east wood lol I’m deceived, when in reality you’ve been asleep this whole time. Google bible cosmology. God has been telling us the truth this entire time. It is “man” who has lied to us.
The whole basis of carbon dating is the fact that everything is in a state of decay and not improving.
Second law of thermeldynamicks
With respect to the age of the universe I agree with him more than with William Lane Craig. Frank is very careful not to trust to much the science and not to quick to interpret blindly and literally Genesis 1. In another video he said her is rather agnostic when it comes to the age of the universe. A well gifted man is FT! Praise God!
But in other fields of science like medicine, he trusts scientists, BUT when some science contradicts what his Bible says, he is sceptic...
To those people, I would suggest, if you are going to click on the videos at least take time to watch them and learn from them. You will be amazed how much you truly think you know and how much you truly don't.
Jacob Sanders
Truly.
Why do people scroll down, read the comments and act shocked when they know exactly what they're going to see truly.
Should at least read all of the comments, and you'll truly see how much you know and truly how much you don't. Truly.
My Bible says evening past and morning came marking a day after every created event. Sounds to me like it means what it says.
There are Eternal materials used in making the universe.
The things in the world are less than 10,000 years old for the fact
1 The I- ching is 10,000 years old
2 the Evening and the morning was the 1st day and so on.
Plus, days require a full revolution of a globe to be called a day.. so
How did he have a power point ready for a random question from a person from the crowd
Every question he gets asked is a question he’s already heard before and has prepared an answer for. Most atheistic questions are along the same lines.
Frank. If you see this, new data shows that there are 10 times more galaxies than they previously thought. That somehow shows that the universe now appears to be 600 million instead of 13.8 billion.
Have you heard of this?
Every thing I have from different science, writers is it is close to 14 to 15 billion years old.
AMEN, no matter how hard people try to find fault with the Bible they'll always end up closing their mouths
A day is heavenly realm is a 1000 years in human realm.
Doesn't really matter to me how old the universe is; we're not going anywhere. I'm more interested on how old the world really is and mankind.
Not only did Genesis say that God created the heavens and the earth before the first day but also spirit of God moved over the waters of a formless earth before the "let there be light" of the first happened. Seems like the basics were all in place before the seven days began.
