Excelent video! But this car deserves the “ Nurburgring Supertest” treatment ! Just saying...😉
MarMPB Oh yea! I don‘t know though if you can drive this car around the whole lap of the Nordschleife in track mode without bottoming out a couple of times 😁
iSimon U. Hummm that would be terrible!
Just as a point of reference, the 2019 GT-Open Qualifying 1:

2) Ferrari 488 GT3 -- 1:37.114
3) Mercedes AMG GT3 -- 1:37.361
*In Qualifying 2 the fastest lap was 37.399
3-4 seconds from GT3-Spec cars with full slick tires is insane.
I mean, obviously much more power, and a way better power to weight ratio, much faster on acceleration much slower on cornering and braking, but still, an amazing lap to a production car with Semi-Slick tires.
Anyway, I think that at this price tag, "production" doesn't mean much, this is just a race car with a license plate.
Crazy how this is road legal. I also reckon this guy could of probably better his lap time by 0.5secs if he really wanted to.

Almost 3s faster than a GT2 RS MR 😳!
The gt2rs club sport that's the car to go against this. This car is 3 times the price of the gt2rs
Allen Saunders It’s still a big accomplishment for a road car, which the club sport is not, I believe. I still think the Senna looks very ugly and I would simply prefer a 991.2 GT3 😉
Why do people always try to equate price with performance?
Allen Saunders the club sport is a race car with full downforce racing slicks and everything else a GT3 car these days has it’s not a real comparison
1stGenStunter the chiron or a huayra should be 3 seconds faster than this

Blendi Zejnullahu - I just checked out the times for fastest laps on this circuit and the senna was over 7 secs a lap faster than the SVJ which is only took the senna 1:40 😲. So on the Nurburgring I think the gap would be a lot bigger. Here’s a link to the lap times for Hockenheim- fastestlaps.com/tracks/hockenheim
For comparison RB15 ran in 1:16.645 in 2019 in the race and 1:12:113 in 2019 Qualifying, per lap.
In a mere 3 laps the RB15 can stop and watch the Senna complete a FULL lap.

@@WeirdBrick 15 seconds lol
Find ihn zwar hässlich aber das Ding hat ja ne Downforce vom anderen Stern. Unglaublich was der liefert. McLaren ist halt schon richtig cool 👌
Can someone explain to me why McLaren doesn't use wider tires? Most of their cars use relatively narrow tires. If this car (along with their others) had wider tires, it would improve its mechanical grip and cornering ability. This thing understeers too much, going to a larger cross-sectional front tire would significantly improve grip and remove understeer.
Lotus does the same thing for safety. For most drivers a car is more predictable when it understeers. Oversteer is scary for normal people
Larger doesn't mean more grip, the grip isn't generated by the dimension of the tires.
Mechanically, there isn't the area on the friction formula, is one of the most common clichés.
The only factors that contribute directly are the dynamic coefficient of friction, in this case, you can choose that of the tire, and the normal load, given by weight and downforce.
Generally given an X value of the normal load, the tire returns an X * Y value of lateral load according to its coefficient of friction.
Keep in mind that as weight increases, the coefficient of friction decreases.
A wider tire is useful to better dissipate heat and wear, and because geometrically up to a certain point you have better carcass strength.
For the rest there is a limit within which you have to stay, other factors such as slip angle also come into play, but generally, it is not that increasing the size increases the grip, they are not related phenomena.

Ohne die Uhr wäre er noch 1 Sekunde schneller gewesen😂💪
Where is this guy who commented under the 488pista video on this channel that the Senna is only slightly quicker than the Pista???
Go home Ferrari! McLaren rules the game!
Chill! The Pista was just 0.4s slower than the Mclaren 720, which is the real competitor. The Senna costs 3 times a Pista, they are not even in the same league, there is no point in comparing them
Tommy B you’re missing the trick here. The 720S is the competitor the 488GTB. The Pista is the track focused variant of the 488 GTB. McLaren hasn’t released the LT variant of the 720S yet. Will probably be Geneva next month. This will be the real competitor to the Pista.
@@75KoDe not really, the mp4 12c was rival to the 458. The 488 was a competitor to the 650s. The Pista should have been a competitor to the 675 lt and the f8 tributo a competitor to the 720s. The 750 lt should be compared to the f8 tributo track version. But since Ferrari is 2 basically years behind, the Pista gets compared with the 720s. Honestly that's a fair comparison because the Pista is more track-focused, but Mclaren carbomium chassis is lighter and newer, giving the Mc a better power/weight ratio. Ferrari did one hell of a job keeping up with Mclaren with a 2015 aluminium chassis (it's the one of the 488). So don't dismiss Ferrari, the Pista is a worthy rival of the 720s. The Senna is just on an other level and it shouldn't be compared to these cars
Tommy B - To be fair the Senna from what I’ve seen is on a completely different level to every other production car to date around a track, there hasn’t been anything that has come close to it... it hasn’t been a matter of a few tenths more over a few seconds... I looked at all the track times for this track and the senna was the first production car to be more than a second faster than anything else... in this case 5 seconds faster which is immeasurable in lap times.
@@Pieces93 you're absolutely right. The Senna is currently unmatched

@@lw8249 that's why I said "some" gt3 cars. In a real qualifying session, cars over a weekend/session lay down a lot of rubber and also dial the car for the specific track. I'm sure if the Senna despite its thin road tires would challenge some of the back grid cars if running in the same qualifying conditions and were given a full race team to squeeze everything out of the car.
@@lw8249 why do people talk like tyres are the only thing that's changed on racing cars
Bruh they literally have 0 interior, everything has been ripped out for weight savings, no dashboard, no climate control, no nothing
They also have rock hard suspension unlike the Senna which has to have comfortable modes that allow it to be driven on a public road
Race cars also have massive wings, closed off vents, etc

I was obviously talking about the P1.
Also P1LM is a heavily modified P1GTR, so they dont enter into the same category.
