    Time on the water is the best way to get good at this. Putting some numbers to this is super helpful thinkin about beam width. Gotta pan back and forth for the hottest return keep a foot on that pedal and know which way they are headed when moving to lead them. Good stuff!

    Also why I switched back to a Summit pole, from my Trolling Motor mount. I can better target those single 16-17" Slabs with more detail, and especially at minimum safe distance of 35 ft, with a very small jig, and laterally off of a pile.
    Good stuff as always Randy. Stay with us our friend.....

    Good video. It is important to scan the transducer from side to side searching for the brightest return.
    Left/right accuracy is vital for LS. IMO, one of the advantages of a transducer pole is the extended handle points more discernible to the target than a smaller arrow.
    BTW - 26.2 produces a great picture. Been using it for some time now.

    You're right on. Once a target is located, you need to pause and dial it in by continuing to scan side to side looking for the brightest return.
    If your lure is not as bright as the fish, you're missing it.
    great explanation

    This year I need to put more time on my forward view. I really like perspective mode & use it 85% of the time this past year. Using it like a live 360 basically. To find & fish cover. What's shallowest water you have used forward in? That you can still see at least 50' out?

    Well I looked through the comments and it appears everyone is getting this except me. First, if the two fish in the original diagram are outside the cone, why would they be showing up in the first place and how does the software decide where to put them on the screen in relation to the tree? It seems in your example, they just as well could have appeared to the right of the tree. Can't understand the purpose of showing something that isn't accurate. To me, it would make more sense to not show them at all until you turn the transducer and they are inside the cone and positioned accurately. Only have a few LVS trips under my belt and getting more confused the more I watch.

      The video is very accurate. I’m assuming you’re confused by the dotted lines on the beam. Watch the video again. I watched it again and I don’t think I could make it any clearer

    • @The_Garmin_Guru
      @The_Garmin_Guru  6 місяців тому +1

      I’m also thinking you’re misunderstanding how the image is displayed on your screen. There is no such thing as right and left on the screen. The screen is displaying objects in relation to how far they are from the boat.

    • @kevindunn3883
      @kevindunn3883 6 місяців тому

      @@The_Garmin_Guru based on the first drawing of what appears on the screen, it looks like the image would have to be turned 90 degrees from where the beam is pointing in order to show the two fish together at the same time. But then when you turn the beam left, it's straight on again. Apparently I don't know how the return is being converted and shown on the screen (3D to 2D). I'll watch the video again and see if it makes any more sense this morning.
      Watched it again and was confused by the "intensity" lines. Still unclear why the drawing/image at the beginning is showing both fish to the left. It seems you would have weak returns for both but still have one left and one right approximately 12' apart.

      it's starting to gel. And all this time I've been casting to the objects where they appear on my screen.
