Buying A Car Doesn’t Have to Suck™

And you wonder why I will never buy a electric car
You the type of person to ride a horse and buggie when the car came out. How’s your telegram?
@@HandlewasNo no but you’re mom likes to ride me
anything with batteries is a scam
@@d0uble_O yes
@@d0uble_O Lmao. Even your non-hybrid ICE vehicles
That hybrid is a good parts truck - those body panels are expensive.
take the battery out. reflash the ECU. drive it like a normal truck. sounds like u can get a deal on a 2010 6.0 silverado if u play ya cards right.
That must have been one of the first hybrids that GM came out with.I bought a used 2012 Silverado with 60,000 on it three years ago and the frame is shoot. Must be one of the Chinese steel models
I refuse to ever buy a EV, they aren't worth it.
Your absolutely right no one wants are car that won't last. Yet here we are.
Hyundai Ionic EV is 39k ... the battery replacement cost is 61k... make it make sense ..
Yep, I did the research on you are correct.
Just buy a 95-2006 those are the best I see all the time 300,000 miles rotted out but still going like hell
Manufacturers and most importantly the government regulators don't give 2 shits about the topic and it's issues. VOTE!
Thank you for great videos
You barely get 5-8 years out of them because of the salt that they purposely use to rust out cars fast.
The thing I never liked about the Silverado hybrids, is that they only increased the gas mileage by 5 mpg, and it was already only getting 15 mpg. And while a normal 2008 Chevy Silverado LS with a 5.3 l v8, started at $17,590, the Silverado Hybrid started at $44,710! So you were paying an extra $27,120 for only 5 more miles per gallon! That was crazy! I'll keep my Civic that will last 20-30 years thank you very much.
I mean it wasnt just that. Hybrids use the 6.0 vortec and this was at a time when hybrids werent very common so prices back then of any hybrid would be quite high
your numbers are off, the base msrp was 38k, the xfe was 33k with the 5.3. so it was a difference of 5k. in 2010 you could qualify for a tax credit of up to 7500..potentially making the hybrid cheapers. Although, these hybrids are complete trash and not worth owning long term
Civic can do everything a full-sized pickup can do anyway
Bro I enjoy your videos i’d love to hear more about some of these new trucks and cars. Like how are the new 2.7 turbo max Silverado doing in the EV’s?
I recently had a 2011 silverado hybrid for 5 years, up until august 2023. ONLY Problem i had was the master power window unit when both passenger windows had issues going up or down. It did its job for the commute I had, 100 miles every weekend, when i came home from trucking. It had decent power and i got about 19 mpg on the 6.0 L it had and I went all over my area with it without an issue. The ONLY reason i traded it off, was the miles were getting a bit high for comfort at 140000 and knowing the hybrid battery would be a costly problem fairly soon. I have no complaints with it while i had it
I have a 2009 GMC Canyon extended cab, 5 speed standard, 4 cyl Vortec engine. It has 193,000 kms. Paid $10,000. for it in 2013 with 65,000 kms on it, best 10 grand ive ever spent.
It's really only like $3000 to replace the battery at Napa auto parts that takes a couple hours its bullshit that the dealers charge u 37 hrs to install 😒
Only 😂
As hybrid and electric vehicles begin needing new batteries we will see the public beginning to turn away from them.
All hybrids should be avoided. The cost to replace batteries often exceeds the value of the model.
You make a good point, but it mostly depends on where you live. I live in N.E. Ohio and ANY vehicle you drive year round will be rusted away after 10 years of driving on the salt covered roads. Then it's a part vehicle.
I love my 2011 Lt Z79 with only 135000 miles and with no cancer
Any battery will need to be replaced. A grandfather in Florida bought a used 2011 Ford hybrid vehicle for his granddaughter off a used car lot. Only a few months passed and the vehicle stopped working. They hauled it to the Ford dealer. The dealer said it needed a new hybrid battery but this battery was discontinued and they can’t get a battery for it.
Personally I don’t like hybrid vehicles especially all total electric EVs because all battery will die and all the money you spend to get a charger installed in your garage for an EV. It’s al BS.
I own a 10-year-old Prius. I know the battery can go at any time at this point. But I have done my research and, and I can get a new battery for $2,700 (free shipping) and change it myself in an afternoon. If I want to save $500, I can get just the battery cells and rebuild it myself for just an extra hour or two of my time. This is completely worth it to me given the cars reliability and gas mileage. Also, I currently have a very nice 2004 Ford minivan with less than 150,000 miles that's bricked because the transmission is dead. Ford stopped making parts for it and it was never popular enough for aftermarket companies to produce parts for it. I have no choice but to send it to the scrap yard.
in this car situation should I say I am paying cash so I can have they power?
Just make sure you vote the right way
Funny how ford thinks if they give electrical problems to the gas lineup that we will switch.
But we will, to another brand!!
I’ll order a Lada!!
13 yrs in upstate ny would be considered a dinosaur
I've been saying this for years. Anyone with any common sense knew this was a problem years ago.
I'll stick with the cat eye Silverados
The key word is this GM putting quality on the side of the road
When Dorman starts offering batteries, watch out. Every 17-year-old with a beard will drive these Chevys.
Junk
Most manyfacturers are walking away from EVs to switch to the new hydrogen power engines.
Still waiting on that civic race pt2
The only hybrid I would consider is a Toyota. They seem to be able to do hybrids right. That said, hybrid technology adds a lot of complexity to a vehicle and complexity, sooner or later, is going to cost $$.
I don't want a hybrid or SUV
Cant you do a gas engine swap?
It's not like it has a 6 L gas engine already or anything
All hybrids are money sinks. This is why I bought a gas RAV4. The hybrid is a money pit.
Look up the replacement of your tesla battery and you'll see its junk if it needs a new battery just like all E-vehicles.
After the battery warranty is up. They have decent warranties which make it make sense for a lot of consumers
@@seth_stewart Well don't cause any damage hit anything on the road and only dent the case of the battery" unless you want a car.
@@cbayless4294 At that point, comprehensive insurance should cover that
It's a parts vehicle
Nah I wouldn't buy a hybrid or EV anything.
Lasting 15-20 years? On what planet is this. Chevy Silverados come pre rusting from the factory. Show me one anywhere in the East that the wheel wells and rockers aren't rusted out in 9 years and I'll fall over dead. This guy is a nit wit.
the fat cats never keep a car for more than 3-5 yrs. But the rule of thumb is NEVER by a hybrid or an all electric car or truck. If it was a Hydrogen fuel cell it might be a different story if it can run on water meaning it can convert water to Hydrogen
Old time pagan religions at least left us some cool shit like Stonehenge and Easter Island.
Today's Climate Religion sucks. lol.
Just wanted to flex you had a queer purple Tesla gtfo
More like Never buy a GM, Ford, or Dodge period! I quit buying American garbage 20 years ago.
Of course now GM won't make hybrids anymore because they could not make them last long enough. Toyota does it and they last 200,000 miles. GM does it and they don't last 100,000 miles. No one will fix them for the reasons given. Of course GM's Mary Barra has been pushing GM to become an EV company by 2030. That has already gone out the window considering they cannot even get their new Chevy Blazer EV running right. Motor Trend took one of the first units and tested it. It lasted 72 hours before breaking down and needing a tow. They documented what happened online - the screen conked out then the car did. GM pulled sales of the EV as a result trying to find the software problem. Good luck with that. Stay away from GM EVs until they get it right.
"Running right"
Is this truck hybrid or all out EV.
