- Israel and Hamas have been at war for seven months, with only about a week's pause last November. Now, something more substantial appears to be in the works.
Reports suggest Israel is offering a ceasefire in exchange for the release of 33 Israeli hostages while Hamas is demanding the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.

He is fooling the world like they did it before.
Hamas realistically has near-zero chance to win, while IDF has the initiative and momentum (which is very important in a war). IDF is losing them by agreeing to this ceasefire.
Furthermore, Hamas could use the ceasefire to dig in and evacuate their civilian population from Rafah (that is if they actually care about their own people), they could also do some recruitment drive and diplomatic maneuvering.
Last but not least, Hamas still hold at least couple dozens of hostages even after this, so there's really no downside for Hamas. Israel is doing this solely due to pressure from the US.

Why is Blinken playing diplomate for Israel?
Even a band aid is successful, who will rebuild the totally destroyed Gaza? US and Germany are the largest weapon suppliers to Israil. We cannot bring back those killed in this tragedy from both sides, but US and Germany should contribute their fair shares to rebuild Gaza and establish a Palestinian as a UN member state.

Yeah, no. A Hamas spokesman said quite clearly that without a permanent ceasefire, complete retreat of the IDF and the return of the population to fighting zones, there would be no deal. Israel is not going to propose anything with these conditions (because it's intending of purging Hamas and keep the population out of harm's way), so no amount of generosity is going to suffice.
Rafah is now taken hostage as a means of negotiating the release of the hostages, if the deal is accepted the hostages released and even then the war will resume and the IOF will still go into Rafah with the pretext of going after Hamas as was the lies so far in the genocide. It's still a no win for Hamas even if they agree unless it's a complete ceasefire. American talk about a generous offer should be the withdrawal of all settlers and the reappropriation of all Palestinian land.
